Checkin was super easy with vaccine passes required which meant you were given a wristband. Facilities were aplenty with a huge kitchen with many sinks, stovetops, 2 ovens, toasters, kettles etc. On site there are two sets of showers and bathrooms which means there is always one available to use. For the kids there is a jumping pillow, tv room, indoor swimming pool, kart rentals. Location is situationed write beside the beach meaning you can watch the sunset from your site (if you are on the right side). Overall, great campsite, always clean, will come back.

Great location. Quiet and tidy. Cabin could do with a bit of a update. Ensuite cabins not good value for money, we would spend the little extra and go for a independent motel next time. Bathroom very damp, unable to dry towels due to condensation., towels replaced on day 3 only. We were not around at office opening times to request dry towels, so, borrowed some from relative instead.

Hi Ruthrobetson32, Thank you for taking the time to complete an online review of your stay at the Waikanae Beach Top10 Holiday Park. We appreciate all feedback as this helps us pave the way to making improvements so each time you visit can be more enjoyable. When guests stay at any type of accommodation, value for money can mean that you are receiving everything else that comes with the room. Your ensuite cost $115.00 per night for two guests which works out to $57.50 per person. Granted the rooms are smallish however, you do receive the necessities required which included your own shower, toilet, all linen, TV, a small fridge, tea and coffee. The bathrooms do have a small window that can be opened when showering and an extractor fan to help take up the steam. There is also a compendium in all rooms that will explain how often the room is serviced and all guests are more than welcome to come to the front office and replace the towels anytime they wish. Our office hours are 8am to 8pm and our team are more than happy if asked to request the housekeeping team to replace your towels if you know that you are not going to be here during our office opening hours. All guests also receive full use of the amenities which includes the swimming pool and a communal kitchen. We offer a beautiful beachfront location where the city centre and many of our most popular restaurants and cafes are all only a 10-15 minute walk away. Guests also receive unlimited wifi, great service, easy access to the beach that boasts magnificent views and great customer service. Our park is very well maintained and our team are very accommmodating to all guest requests. We are disappointed that we did not meet all of your expectations as we want nothing more than our guests to have a comfortable and relaxing experience. We wish we could've been more attentive to your needs had we known of your dissatisfaction during your stay. We do hope that you are not deterred from returning for a more satisfying experience and maybe next time, you can try one of our Ocean View Apartments or a Motel. Pool area need a night light, current one only lights up one corner, could be dangerous sat night. Myself and a group of three stayed here during New Years in one of the three bedroom apartments. The apartment was well-equipped, but the holiday park does have a ton of amenities and facilities, if you do decide to camp instead.
Location was ideal, with Waikanae Beach right in front of the holiday park and Gizzy town centre was within a reasonably short walking distance.
I would, however, strongly advise against staying here if you are going to Rhythm and Vines. We were unfortunately asked to leave with no refund because of this. Other than that regrettable situation, it was a pleasure to stay and definitely strongly recommend!

This Top 10 park has many positive natural features including being close to town and next to the beach. The amenities are modern and well serviced. I found I used the 'disabled' shower because it had somewhere to put my clothes so they did not get wet - extra room was also a bonus. The parking for motorhomes is flat and easily accessible. The property felt secure and is one that I would return to again as I believe it is the best in Gisborne and offers very good value..

Lovely place, kids had a ball and there were loads of activities to do, including swimming, bike and kayak hire. We took our scooters and were able to scoot around the city as the campground is so close to everything.

This Top 10 is located right on the beautiful white sandy beachfront of Waikanae Beach with very clean facilities, fabulous family fun on offer (pool with slide), karts, playground, TV room set up just like a cinema & a games room to boot). It is just a "Hop" to Sunshine Brewery, a "skip" across to Captain Morgan's for beach style dinner options and "hop, skip and big jump" to get to town (ie approx 10 mins walk). We will definitely recommend and be back again.

Our park does have heaps of fun activities for families to enjoy and the pool has been a fantastic asset to our park since being built 3 years ago. Being located right in the heart of our city is very handy for our guests as many of our most popular restaurants, cafes and our city centre are like you say, a hop, skip and a jump away! So many activities for everyone at Waikanae top 10. Large bouncing marshmallow pillow, giant chessboard outside, games room wit table tennis and pingpong table, 2 movie rooms, great pool on-site. Communal areas were easy to access wit a swipe card. Kitchen and bathroom/toilets were always in clean condition. I liked how th cleaners wrote on a whiteboard in th bathroom what time they had serviced/cleaned th bathroom/toilets. So much fun for th whole family. We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 night stay on a powered campsite. Our second year here and we will definitely be back again. I think th park could improve on is th wifi. Better connections and unlimited.

Hate writing poor reviews but sadly this holiday spot was a disappointment.
While the location to the beach and shops is great, being close to the Port is horrendous. The noise from trucks arriving throughout the night and loading and unloading is extremely loud and constant.
The campsite allocated to us (94) was small, our tent door literally opened to the back of our neighbours tent. No space for your car either on-site or near by. This however didn't stop others doing it and literally blocking he exit on some lanes! The whole camp ground was fenced in by horrid prison like fencing and it is a shame there is no closer beach access to those at the far end
The kitchen was also some distance away, made worse by the pretty wet weather, making it a long and wet walk for your milk! (obviously the weather is out of the camps control!)
I would say the park lacked any holiday feel, nothing organised for New Year and generally a like it or leave type attitude. Camping at this time of year is far from cheap and I certainly don't think we got value for money. We left a day early as the Port noise had done us in, the lady at Reception couldn't have been less bothered when we told her!
Lastly, the beach while beautiful (if you look away from the Port) was certainly not safe for children. It was very wild and rough so we kept away.

We are extremely sorry to hear that your stay with us did not meet your expectations and hope that this does not deter you from returning again! While we would love to have an open area with undisturbed views around our park we unfortunately have to keep it fenced in as we are located in a very public spot so our guests safety is top priority. The park is also very fortunate to be situated within walking distance to one of the safest beaches in New Zealand as the Waikane Beach is monitored and patrolled by reginal lifeguards. The beach also is predominantly flat but like most coastal beaches, becomes choppy and rough when a southerly strikes. We do hope to see you again in the near future with some nicer weather too! Very friendly staff and you couldn't beat the location. However our duvet covers were badly stained and had hair from previous users on them. It would have been good to have a small wall mounted light ( so they can't be stolen)by each bed instead of a big central one in room. This would allow early sleepers and late night readers to co-exist without disturbing each other.

Hi. To answer your question,yes,double bed and shower in the unit that we stayed in.There is communal cooking facilities available and also plenty of good places in Gisborne to have a nice meal.
Hi, we do not allow dogs in cabins or units but if you are camping the dog maybe kept in the campervan or caravan. We do not allow this in our peak season though which is the 20th Dec - 31st Jan 2015.
