Fish burger knocked my socks off. Wasn’t expecting that. And the lady will happily knock you up a Kiwi-Burger with egg and beetroot, if you like. Beautifully prepared pub food. Fresh chunky fries. Nice family run tavern. Friendly locals. Good souls welcome. Yummy latte in the morning too!

We Stopped in here to have a bite to eat and refuel after a hunting trip. Beer was cold and the pulled pork burgers were the best I ever had. Defiantly recommend this if you are travelling in this area.

The amount of effort that the new owner Robbie went to to make us feel welcome was incredible. The food was great, the beer was cold, and he also organized accommodation even though his own rooms weren't ready. He ferried us around so we didn't have to ride our bikes any further than necessary. All in all one of best experiences in hospitality I have come across in years.

Great pub, good coffee, nice basic food choices. Very welcoming host, and a great view from the deck. A must do stop when travelling the beautiful inland Road from Gisborne to Wairoa. Great for motorcyclists.

Lovely egg burger. Peaceful and relaxing sitting out on deck surveying the beautiful country side. Worth stopping. Visited Te Reinga Falls just south of here after rain on right. Spectacular display .
