We were skeptical about booking due to the negative comments found about this accommodation, however, we were pleasantly surprised. Negative comments about staff may just be a misunderstanding because English is not their first language. Room had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and we did not hear any road noise during out stay. There is no pool but they told me this when I booked and we were not booking for pool. Location was perfect for all that we wanted to do.

There was a mix up about disabled access after the 3 room being shown to us with a walk in shower but a very small room , a third of the room was the bathroom and wheelchair access was to only one side of the bed and only one of the two door were accusable. The staff the least helpful of all our trip. Trying to get directions to no avail.

The rooms are clean and ok for the price. The bathroom is extremely small and hard to navigate for the average person due to room. What we were concerned about was the lady behind the front seat who took a photo of our credit card and drivers licence on her phone for ‘id reasons’. Looked like her personal phone and she said it was their policy…

Spending the New Year in Auckland with my family was made extraordinary by our stay at this wonderful hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean, creating a warm and tranquil atmosphere. The culinary delights served at every meal added an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip.
The surrounding streets offered picturesque views, and the hotel's proximity to a public bus station made transportation to the city exceptionally convenient. This strategic location allowed us to explore Auckland's local culture with ease.
The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, always ready to assist with any issues we encountered. Their attentive service added a comforting touch to our journey, making us feel truly at home.

All advertising said said pay on arrival. They tried to take payment out before arrival without notice. Then when they couldn't get a hold of me canceled my booking less than an hour before I tried to check in (at 4pm). When trying to reason with the staff, they were rude telling us it was not their problem. They had already on-sold the room, leaving my friends and I stranded on a night when Auckland had no accommodation available due to 3 sold out concerts happening. It spoiled a long awaited weekend.

The room we were given was not as per the picture that had been booked. Had travelled with a very expensive vehicle that had been professionally valeted & cleaned before the trip. The vehicle was being used for a special event. As such, it had been asked if the vehicle would be secure being parked on the premises when booking was made. Was assured over email that it would be. We were woken up at 8am by wood chipping on the property. We had also requested a 12pm check out time as we had been travelling very far and needed to have enough rest before the rest of our journey. No one had informed us that there would be loud work occurring on the property and that machinery would be close to the vehicle parked. Upon leaving the hotel, we saw the vehicle had been completely covered in debris from the wood chipping. Informed them of the bad experience. No satisfactory solution was offered when we informed them the vehicle would now have to be cleaned again before the event. Offering to "blow" and wipe it down was not good enough. No follow up was received. Had to follow up ourselves. Were told that a discounted rate for next visit. That was not a solution as we will never stay there again. A follow up call was made to offer half a refund for our stay. That does not cover the cost of the vehicle cleaning, new scratches on the vehicle paint work and inconvenience we have occurred. Worst hotel experience I have ever had.

We were a group of 9 people (2 adults and 7 youth) and we had booked a 6 bedroom and a 4 bedroom apartment. Upon arriving at the Best Western we were advised that we had been given a free room upgrade from a 4 bedroom to a 7 bedroom suite. It was fantastic with enough room for everyone to join in together in one of the apartments for meals etc. In both apartments we had a main bedroom downstairs with kitchen, bathroom etc and then upstairs were the additional beds with own bathroom. Kitchens were big enough for us to cook and make lunches for our day trips. Everything was clean and tidy. The only unfortunate thing was that the 6 bedroom apartment had a lingering smell of fish emanating from the fridge but it was clean and we managed to ignore it.

The worst thing was the mattress reaking of urine. There was a comfortor on top of the matress, they kind of mademit less smelly when you roll over then other way. But still! Not exactly pleasant. Pillows were too big and hard. Discovered they had put 2 older thin pillows together to a pillow case protector to make them look full and fluffy. Rooms at the back at closest to the motorway, so very noisy. Would not stay again

Rooms in the new extension are fabulous. Those in the old building less so (I’d give it a 3star). Comfortable beds, really good shower and useful kitchenette with microwave. Plates cups glasses cutlery etc. Good breakfast buffet, laundry on site, staff very helpful. Close-ish to Westfield Centre and shopping area. Parking a little crowded and work going on a little noisy at the moment.

We were stranded in Auckland due to Covid 19 for nearly two weeks. BW Newmarket Inn offered us a very good accomodation at a very fair price. The staff was very kind, skilled and helpful in this very difficult times. The hotel is in a nice neighbourhood offering easy acces to parks, groceery stores major transport routes. We thank all at BW Newmarket Inn very much. You guys do an awfull good job.
