Pros:
The receptionist were polite and friendly. The room and facilities were clean. We rented a 3rd floor room with a little kitchenette. You need to ask for cooking utensils from the reception. Fridge and microwave very handy. Great location you can walk anywhere really and the Skybus stops 2 mins walk away.
Cons:
Very noisy due to the construction on the other side of the road. Step to go up to bathroom- can be dangerous during the night. Tv only has 5 channels. Not the best view from the little balcony. Window is very small cant really air the room which makes it very stuffy.
You get what you paid for, for a short period of time i would stay here again

This hotel is in a great location but even this was problematic with a huge construction project going on across the road (yes, the workers started at 4am one morning - included using an angle grinder to cut steel). The room was tiny and on the first morning the housekeepers left us 1 towel short (reception told us to come down and pick up a replacement, ourselves - add 10 minutes as only one elevator works). The second morning the room wasn't serviced at all. Back down to reception for another set of towels. The key cards are cheap and nasty and just looking at them wipes the magnetic encoding - another trip to reception.

The hotel is what it is.
For me it is purely functional and since my preferred hotels since they first opened in the 90's in Ellerslie will never be Accor Hotels again I have to find another place to stay since the owners there are chasing the covid dollar.
This hotel - well it is getting tired. Very tired and they need to start doing renos in the room the water damage in the bathrooms and the paint work - some love and attention are desperately needed.
The door handle in the bathroom is rotting through the very cheap bathroom door.
The missing TV channel needs to be reprogrammed hotel wide as it is still "search for signal"
The staff are polite and very nice.
Parking trick. The parking buildings either side of the hotel offer 30 in free so use that to dump your bags check in and then head back out to do what you need to do. then come back for you long stretch parking when you need to pay.
The bed.. I had 2 solid good nights sleep.

the stay was poor, I came to auckland after staying ibis wellington with same rates.. but auckland ibis budget is not worth for money all..rooms are small, and since i arrived to the room I had to call them over 10 times to ask things, WiFi is not working, and the second day morning fire alarm was ringing for 45 minutes 7.am. Not recommending to anyone. And housekeeping is terrible.. i went outside and asked i let receptionist know that send housekeeping to clean my room, I came after 2 hours to my room and the room was still dirty and I asked reception she told housekeeping left.. Terrible terrible hotel.waste of money

The location of this hotel is terrific. Short walk to Main Street and ferry terminals and eating spots. For that reason I thought it was a great hotel. However! My room configuration was awful! It was an Lshaped room. There was a small 90x90cm balcony on which stood the aircon motor, I wasn’t game to stand on the balcony it looked very unsafe. The bed head was located on the outer wall of the hotel room adjacent to the door out to the balcony so to me it felt i was falling out of the room all night it was very unsettling. The bedhead needs to be repositioned to the inner wall which backs on to the corridor and then you could look out of the room. One plus was that the aircon was terrific!
There is no double glazing on the windows or balcony door so the incredible noise all night long literally until dawn and beyond was unbelievable. People screaming and fighting, cars tooting, cars revving up and down the street, gangs yelling out, Some guy with a saxophone played the darn thing until dawn both nights!! Seriously give it a rest bro! When I bought it to the attention of staff on check out they shrugged and said “ oh well it’s a weekend it’s noisy” so much for a sincere apology. It’s a budget hotel I get that but for my $545 for what equates to two full nights I thought it would be better. The view from the room was quite good but I didn’t pay to sit in my room and look at the view. My friend stayed in an Air B&B and paid a much better rate for 8 nights and it was fully self contained and so very quiet by comparison. I would have moved hotels had I been there for a longer time. I’m not sure if rooms towards the back would be any quieter?? I was on 17th floor overlooking the city and Britomart area. It certainly had some creature comforts, tv, tea and coffee making facilities, a mini bar size fridge. The best part was the staff who checked me in, two lovely Asian gents who couldn’t do enough, I forgot my charger cable, no probs they had one I was able to borrow.

This budget hotel is in a great location & the staff were very helpful & friendly. However, the 2 double rooms I stayed in were quite small. The 2nd room was so small that I would recommend it only for someone traveling solo. The bed was comfortable, water was hot & even though others stated they had a smell in the room I had no offensive smell in either room I booked. The rooms were very clean but the metal drain on floor of shower was loose in both rooms. One of my rooms had a microwave & stove top both had a refrigerator & kettle. Anything you need like utensils & pots you could ask for at the front desk. The rooms were bright due to a window & slider. The balcony was basically non existent as you couldn't really step out. I chose this hotel for the location & for me it was perfect. No restaurant in this hotel but there is a cafe next door & down the block & a great Countdown grocery store about a 10 min walk. Waterfront is maybe a 15min walk & Sky Tower ~10mins. FYI most stores except the grocery close early ~6pm so do your shopping early.

We stayed two nights here, having read the reviews but acknowledging anywhere else was a lot more expensive. We are budget travellers and as ling as a room is clean and comfortable, we are fine. We were actually pleasantly surprised.
Staff were super nice and we were able to check out at 11 at no extra cost. Got a top floor room- 18- room 2 which we really liked. Airy and bright and great views- even a glimpse of the Sky Tower. Yes, small but we got by. Clean and comfy bed. A/C was fine too. The room has double glazing.
Location is VERY central. The pros meant we could walk everywhere we wanted and had restaurants on our doorstep. The SkyBus from the airport drops you at stop 10 just around the corner on Queen Street. Countdown supermarket is just up the street. We felt our room was safe and secure.
Cons are that you are in a buzzy city which means that on the weekend that we were there, you could hear noise from the bars/clubs and folk going home in the early hours etc. Possibly quieter in the week. For two nights, this was fine and bearable. There is construction noise from the building opposite and it starts early, but again a price for being so central.
We would stay here again for the price.

The rooms are terrible! The room we had was pokey, looked onto a car park, smelt like a porterloo and was way way too expensive for what it was. It felt like the inside of a shabby old caravan - it was that squishy and smelly. I recommend you do the research and find somewhere better to stay. We were desperate and leving at 4am but even so I was very unimpressed at having to pay $160 for such a dive. It would have been ok if it was $60 but definately not worth$160.

It is a budget hotel, but better organised than the more expensive ones I stayed in around Auckland. It had a manned reception desk and offered a tourism brochure section for travelers. There was a water dispenser in the lobby. I found my room had the usual facilities, but they worked and the compact size made it easy to get around. the location was three blocks from Britomart station and the same distance from the Intercity bus terminal at Sky City

The hotel is in a great location central location but the hot plate doesn’t work and even if it did there is no cookware or bowls ect only a cup and a spoon in the room. The wifi is really spotty too and kept constantly dropping out. The room was very clean though.
