My Uncle & I stayed at this hotel for 1 night while on transit in Auckland on our way to the Cook Islands and also 1 night on our way back to Melbourne. On both occasions, we arrived in the evening around 7.30pm. The check-in process was smooth and fast. We had booked our rooms through the Agoda website and paid in full at the time of the booking. The hotel did request for a NZD100 security deposit, which they refunded to my credit card a few days later. We booked a twin deluxe for both stays and we have no complaints whatsoever. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. All the expected amenities were available in the room: digital safe, electric kettle, coffee, tea, sugar and milk, hairdryer, basic toiletries, flat screen TV, etc. The WiFi and air-conditioning worked perfectly. The buffet breakfast is decent, with many hot and cold options, as well as coffee machines to make yourself some specialty coffees. The Skycity Casino is located within the same building as this hotel, and inside the casino, there are a number of dining venues available. We dined at the Food Republic, which offers Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Western food. IMPORTANT TIP: If you are planning on staying here and dining in any of the venues inside the casino, you should sign up for the complimentary Rewards programme for the casino. You will be given a Rewards card which gives you a 10% discount on all your dining bills here. The Rewards card is needed to play on any of the slot machines but you don't have to gamble in order to get the card. The best thing about this hotel is its location! It is located in central Auckland City, a few blocks from the waterfront(Viaduct Harbour). To get to this hotel from the airport, took the SkyDrive Express Bus which picks passengers up from the Auckland Domestic and International Airport terminals and brings them directly to the bus stop right next to the Skycity Hotel. At this point in time, the 1-way fare for adults is NZD18 and NZD12.50 for senior citizens. We used this service on both occasions and found it to be extremely convenient and economical. The buses run every 30 minutes both ways. You can pay the bus driver on the spot with a credit card each time, there is no need to pre-book your bus tickets. All in all, we had an enjoyable stay here and will definitely stay here again on our future trips to Auckland.…

Check in smooth and very friendly staff. That’s unfortunately we’re the good stuff ends. The room smelt like someone had previously smoked in it, sheets were scratchy and the airco hardly did anything. Bathroom was nicely appointed. No complimentary water and the coffee/teas provided were below average. I also didn’t feel particularly safe / at easy in this hotel either. I was constantly being approached by beggars coming in and out of the hotel, there was some sort of incident hotel security were dealing with in the lobby first thing in the morning when I was going to the gym and there was rubbish in the lift. I will not be staying again.

Huge rooms. Modern & clean. Very comfortable bed. Big screen tv with good selection of channels. Modern decor. Blackout curtains. Good shower pressure & size. Cons: parking can be confusing when trying to figure out which level to park for the hotel. Nice hotel to stay if you want to visit the casino or explore the city.

We stayed for 1 night to celebrate my birthday. It was a memorable birthday. They surprised me with a birthday cupcake from dining to the orbit 360 and surprise room visit to send me a sweet greeting card and chocolates. The best experience of Kiwi hospitality in New Zealand. Hasslefree, very convenient location for dining, shopping and more activities.

Well appointed rooms, easy to find places to eat. Comfortable bed and great amenities. Breakfast was lovely only lactose free milk was not available, which made it difficult for me as I can't drink oat, soy or almond milk.

No slippers or minibar. Shower temperature fluctuations. Breakfast at Fortuna restaurant substandard. Check your bill as they add on a valet parking of $60 per day even if you use your own parking card or tickets. Room however was clean.

Great hotel and even greater sevice. Along with it's prime location and many outstanding restaurants. It really is hard to beat! Casino right at your door step and lots of security around, you feel safe and secure. Housekeeping were also very friendly and efficient. Cannot recommend this place enough.
