When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Grubby, the dishcloth had some one else’s dried food on it, the kitchen was cleaner when we left than it was when we arrived. It was one of this places that you wash up the glasses et before you use them. Convenient location opposite a pub.
Website said there was parking out the back but when we asked we were told no. We’re a bit paranoid about leaving the motorbikes out front and the upstairs room guests kept us awake till 0130, walls very thin, emergency lights on all the time and hard to get a good nights sleep. For $169 a night I’d expect better.

Stayed here as close by to my friends' wedding venue and they had booked this for some guests that were attending. The rate was decent and fairly good value for money.

I had a Standard Suite which was located up stairs so best to confirm a downstairs room if you unable or unwilling to climb a flight of internal stairs. It had a small kitchenette with microwave, fridge, and sink. The bathroom was shower only which suited me to a tee. It was a decent size. The room itself was large with a king size bed.

It can get a bit noisy as it's located on Great South Road which is a major thoroughfare.

Overall if you want a no nonsense accommodation for the night this will fit the bill.

Found it to be very comfortable and spotlessly clean, and a great room rate. I would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends. Only staff we came in contact with was the man on reception whom we found to be very welcoming and polite.

Very shabby lodge, customer service very average, painful parking, room had not been cleaned well, mouldy shower, strong smell of paint fumes in room, Internet kept dropping out, colleague had broken plug with wires exposed, and very noisy being on main road opposite popular pub. Bed was comfortable enough and was able to watch the Olympics on sky but will not be recommending or staying again. In dire need of updating and a serious deep clean!!

The motel is in dire need of an upgrade. The furniture was scruffy. Paint was flaking off the walls and roof in the bathroom/toilet. It had dead bugs on the wallsA lot of road noise as it is on a main road.
I would not stay there again

I wouldn't have said this place was in Auckland but we stayed here for a night on our way to the airport and it was perfect for that. The room was large with a King size bed and extra single and a kitchenette. The manager/owner was helpful with information and recommendations for local places to eat. The motel is on a busy road but we slept OK so it wasn't too noisy. The motel is good value.

Stayed here one night...has everything you need...location is good to. Easy to get to and easy to get back on road again.

Plenty of choices food wise just across the road...free Wi-Fi. The room itself has a good layout...would definitely stay here again.

The Drury Motor Lodge situated on the Great South Road in Drury was very conveniently placed for our weekend in Auckland. The rooms were very large and very clean. A wardrobe would have been handy and once we had the hot water sorted we had an enjoyable stay. The owners were very gracious and helpful.

"The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs" is one of Aesop's Fables. The tale has given rise to the idiom 'killing the goose that lays the golden eggs', which refers to the short-sighted destruction of a valuable resource, or to an unprofitable action motivated by greed.
This is an average hotel, at its best. There is hardly any other option around, besides the questionable B&B choices, with no pictures whatsoever. The service here is kind, nice people, but the facilities are dated and do need a major uplift. Yes, the shower is still good, but most other bits are falling apart. It seems to be crumbling to dust, with peeling walls, unsightly carpets and forced locks, while the owners milk as many golden eggs as they can, but the goose struggles to keep breathing. Drury is growing and they will get competition one day. Hopefully it will not be too late to invest. They should start doing it right now.
