We arrived in the early hours and already had advice on how to get into our room. We were given an upstairs room which we had requested. It was a good size with a small table and 2 chairs as well as the bed and large TV with sky box. There was no air movement through the room so we needed the ac. The bathroom was large with a jet tub and shower over it, plenty of towels and manuka honey toiletries. The kitchen area had a box with a selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolate, there was an oven, microwave, kettle etc, plenty of options for catering in if necessary. The staff was friendly and helpful, they even let us stay an extra hour when our motor home was not going to be ready as early as we wanted.
It is in a good location for eateries in the Ponsonby area and took us about 40 mins to walk into the city centre along a very interesting route, mostly downhill. As this was our first accommodation at the start of our one month trip to New Zealand it was a reassuring start.

This is very comfortable, clean, and modern accommodation for such a great price. It is very central and handy to restaurants, supermarket and, Ponsonby shops. Our family enjoyed staying in such a quiet location but very convenient. It's very hard to find a motel so close to the city centre especially for the price. We strongly recommend Abaco and our family intend on returning fir another visit.

This place is well located in an inner suburb of Auckland. Good restaurants and stores are within walking distance. We had to change our reservation at the last minute due to flight disruptions and the hotel was very accommodating. The room was quiet , clean and comfortable with good beds , shower and air conditioning. The hosts were very pleasant .

Abaco is at reasonable distance from Auckland downtown, restaurants and supermarket. There was a problem with the wifi, but the manager fixed it promptly. We had a unit at the groundfloor and it was not so sunny: the two bedrooms (but we used only one) receive light only indirectly.Probably the unit at middle and uppere levels dont have this problem, but this is our experience.
All in all I think that is not completely worthwhile and that it is a little bit too expensive for what offers.

Hi there Thank you for your review and we are sorry to hear that you thought we were a reasonable distance from restaurants and supermarkets. We are, in fact, a very short walk of 250 metres from Ponsonby Road, which is well known for it's many great restaurants and bars. We are located on Jervois Road, Ponsonby, and we are also very close to the Herne Bay restaurants and bars (350 metres away), of which there is many to choose from. The nearest supermarket to us is 800 metres away, again, a short and pleasant walk or NZD$8.80 in an Uber but the Inner Link and Outer Link bus service is also on this route. We have a lovely, cafe, across the road, 150 metres away and a very well known Steak House directly across the road. Auckland Downtown is 1.8km from us and again you can hop on the City Inner Link or Outer Link buses or it is, also, the minimum NZD$8.80 Uber ride away. Many of our guests do, however, enjoy the walk. Thank you for staying, we appreciate your business and we hope you enjoyed the rest of your travels in our beautiful country.

Stayed here about 8 years ago on a trip to Auckland so thought we’d try again as it was a nice stay. This time we stayed in a 2 bedroom unit which had a small lounge area, table and chairs and a kitchenette. Once again a pleasant enough stay but there have been little improvements so it is getting a little aged. The beds especially were too soft and definitely need replacing. It was however a nice enough stay. Quiet room and a very friendly and helpful gentleman who was at front desk. He was even kind enough to try to find us a nice recommendation for dinner and allowed us to use his computer and printer to do our online check in for the airport.

Needed accommodation last minute for me and my brother as a family member was taken to Mercy Hospice, Sheryl could not have been more accommodating ,we didnt know how long our stay would be but she put a hold on the room anyway,Had to stay an extra 3 days but it was not a problem. Rooms were lovely and clean , kitchen ,TV, shower, 2 separate bedrooms highly recommended. back in England now

I really liked the premises and location, it's close to the city but quiet and shady enough to be in a residential area.
My studio room was perfect for me, good size and layout. I liked the kitchen area, is nice and modern.
The manger and partner were were super helpful from the start and went above and beyond to help me.
I really hope to stay again next time I'm in the City, I found it peaceful and relaxing.

We stayed here for a few days during our stop in Auckland. This hotel is located in a nice area, is clean, and has everything you need for a few days (comfy bed, good wifi, well-stocked kitchenette). We appreciated the amenities and the great water pressure in the shower.

Short walk to a bunch of restaurants and a few bars, along with shopping and such. Fast wifi, nice tub with jets. Friendly service had the room clean early. Room had a patio as well as a nice view from the balcony. Room was very large with a pull out couch.

We stayed here for 7 nights in a one bedroom suite. Sheryl and the team were super welcoming and friendly, the room was clean and perfectly met our needs. A car park is also a huge bonus. We loved our stay - Ponsonby and Herne Bay at our doorstep with fabulous food and shopping so close. We would totally recommend Abaco and will absolutely be back !!
