Comfortable room. They are in the middle of refurbishing and you can see it will be amazing when they are finished friendly staff. Breakfast was great. The room we stayed in was definitely dated though. The bathroom was usable but definitely old. For the price it was good and my kids were happy.

Excellent location, very close to the CBD and Parnell shops, and a bonus to have free parking for this area of town. I had a room on the third floor which overlooked Skytower and the CBD. My room had just been refurbished and was modern and clean. Breakfast was buffet and had a good selection including cooked options. However.... please note the hotel is being refurbished and the corridors are thick with dust and builders materials. The builders are gone at 5pm though so it wont disturb your evening.

Not the best. The place was in a middle of a refurb which is much needed. Unfortunately my room was on the same floor as others that were still going through a major fit out. There was plaster dust everywhere. Really disappointed we weren’t advised when we booked. During our conference there was all sorts of noise from workers which we had to ask to be stopped. My room had been fully upgraded and was nice. It’s a shame that I had to wade through muck and dust to get to it. Staff said they were fully booked and couldn’t shift us and that it was beyond their control. I begged to differ……..

The dirtiest Hotel i Ever been inside. Years of Lazy house-keeping. Dirty fridges. Dust. And Rubbish under beds. Dirty showers. Dirty fans. Dirty air conditioners. Dirty lights. Overall Dirty. Consistently. And only surface cleaned. Also Bed bugs. Overlooked by housekeeping supervisors and management. But people should be made aware of what exactly they are paying for!.

Great location and price. Traveling to NZ and starting in Auckland for two days. Needed a place to crash and get ready for a road trip. The Staff are lovely and accommodating after a delayed flight, arriving very late. Helpful in working out transport arrangements getting back to the airport to find our hire car. Helpful in giving us ideas on how to get around and where to go for a short stay. The room is basic but comfortable. Lovely view of the Rose Garden. A small group of shops up the road - all the essentials. Short distance to the city.

This place was dreadful. Mould on ceilings and in cracks in the tiles. Mattresses were old, lumpy and the first room had broken bed springs. All magreases I was show were lumpy and cheap. Light fixtures not working. Broken tiles. Stains on walls and carpets. Bad smells in the rooms. And refevishment going on in surrounding rooms. The kettle was full of brown water and the air conditioning remote is bolted to the wall and cannot be moved.

We arrived early and the check in staff were so pleasant. They let us into the room early and advised us about breakfast etc. The rooms are a bit dated but good value for money. A basic but good value buffet breakfast. We have already tried to book in again because it is the perfect location for Auckland activity as well as off road parking. Highly recommend.

We last stayed here over 20 years ago. We like the location - opposite Dove Myer Robinson park. Unfortunately the hotel seems to have had almost no updates since then and the place is looking very old and tired. To get wifi we had to sign up so someone can spam us which I don't find acceptable. No EV charger either. I doubt we will be back.

The best part of this hotel for me was having the beautiful Dove Myer Robinson rose gardens across the road which were lovely to walk through. I stayed here twice on my NZ road trip, bookend stays at the beginning & end when I flew in & out from Auckland. The staff were nice (especially the tall 16 year old school kid on reception who was friendly, chilled & easy to chat to - I wish I could recall his name). Unfortunately my room was not ready when I arrived in the evening after flying in from Brisbane. This was not good given it was 5+ hours after check in but I acknowledge there were some staff issues that day. And my friend on reception was happy to give me a free breakfast voucher to compensate when I asked which was appreciated. The rooms are old & antiquated but perfectly comfortable for a short stay & I got a good night sleep both nights. Onsite car parking (uncovered) was available. I had dinner (PadThai noodles)in the onsite restaurant (Garden View Restaurant) the night I arrived & the buffet breakfast the next morning. The food was fine & service was adequate (not brilliant). For the room charge rate (I paid AUD $100) the hotel was good value (it’s a 3 star older style hotel) & I would probably stay again.

Don't reccomend this place Bad check in experience. Some rude staff. Room is average, mould in bathroom, not very clean dirt on curtains and cobwebs around. Thin walls! Can hear your neighbours easily and anyone walking down the hallway. Only some of the tv channels work. Door to the block is left open in the day so anyone in the street can walk up to ur room. Breakfast was messy and some things left empty untill asked to be refilled. For the money it is really not worth it. Felt like a hostel. Good things were the view from breakfast. And the location of the hotel.

Response from Ramon James, General Manager at Auckland Rose Park Hotel
Responded 3 Apr 2023
Good morning kieranh793, Thank you for your online review with Tripadvisor, It is disappointing to read that you didn't enjoy your stay. We pride ourselves on great food, great service and the highest of cleanliness standards. I have followed up with our Restaurant team in regards to breakfast, as impressions last and our busy buffet should always be fully stocked and ready. I have personally checked the television i n the room you stayed in and it is fully operational. First impressions created upon booking and checking in are vital to our business so it is also disappointing to read that this didn't go as well as it should have. I will also follow this up with the team. Kind regards, Ramon James - General Manager
