Awful stay for my wife's 40th birthday. our room was not cleaned all weekend. Towels removed Saturday morning and never replaced after 3 phone calls. We were given a voucher for sundaes then chastised by staff saying we were only entitled to a scoop despite being told by reception to enjoy the free sundaes. On leaving the hotel we experienced an incredibly abusive local receptionist. She tried to mischarge us parking when we never parked at the hotel. She asked me 3 times if we parked at hotel making me out as lying. Final straw was when she asked 'how did you get to Auckland without a car" I put a complaint into the manager at that point, as I was walking away the receptionist and a senior receptionist started laughing. Manager was understanding and said they were struggling to find the right level of staff post covid. TBH it was little too late and nothing was done to rectify any of the issues. I was also overcharged and tried to get this sorted out. I phoned hotel and the guy said difference would be paid back, never happened. Gym is like a shoe box and not great. Would avoid at all cost, not worth the money and a million miles from the advertised 5 stars.…
Our first time back since the upgrade and we weren't disappointed. The place looks way better and we were treated the way we always have been treat at your establishment...our needs were catered for in the most efficient and in a professional manner which makes us chose Movenpick Auckland every time we come to Auckland. Great to see familiar faces too.
I booked the hotel along with a birthday dinner at their Vue restaurant. With less than a week to go the hotel told us the restaurant would not be opening on the day I had booked. To his credit the assistant F&B manager arranged a booking at another nearby Accor hotel with charge back facilities. Regarding the room it was fine, very clean, large bed, bathrobes etc. etc. I hope we will be able to experience the restaurant in the future.
From the time we checked in ,our experience was great, first an upgraded room,a front facing high up room ,looking over Aotea square, and the harbour,a very comfortable ,revamped room, lovely bed ,good furnishings and nice bathroom, even as we left check in ,we were told ,don,t forget, chocolate hour,at 3 pm,we didn’t,t and it was delightful,a lovely selection of small cakes in the bar lounge area each day, We dined each night at the restaurant, the meals were of good quality, the staff very helpful,We had breakfast at the hotel,in my view it was as nice a breakfast selection as I have enjoyed anywhere, again the staff were excellent, We had a lovely stay at this hotel
we had a lovely weekend, helpful and considerate staff I mentioned it was our anniversary and a delicious cake was left in our room with a lovely card the location couldn't be better for a city break.
Everything about this hotel was wonderful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Although we didnt eat at the hotel we did have a pre dinner cocktail which was delish! I loved the earplugs beside the bed and eye masks.
Was made very welcome and all staff were attentive especially to my Grandchild who was totally spoilt. Was worried about car parking but staff took care of that and when required car was back in good time. Thank you team for a great stay
From the welcome when I arrived, to the room, food, and great service throughout - this was an excellent stay. Very much appreciated the room upgrade and the delicious chocolate dessert waiting for me, and the personalised card (as always). bar and restaurant staff were exceptional as well as the reception team. You feel like they really enjoy what they do. Felt recognised and rewarded - thank you.
A group of us stayed at the Movenpick Hotel over the weekend for a friends birthday. We all made a note that we were all travelling together and they arranged for everyone to be on the same floor. I arrived early so the rooms on that floor werent ready but they let me check in to another room anyway. I was blown away by Vanessa on Reception. She was so warm and welcoming on arrival. She was so friendly and check in was a breeze. I had the hotel breakfast the following day - which included barista coffee, fresh juice and eggs to order. Some of the food on the buffet was a bit overcooked (eggs and sausages) but for the most part the breakfast was good and I would absolutely go again. Location is absolutely perfect. Close to amazing stores and restaurants on the viaduct. Would love to come and stay at the Movenpick again soon.…
After a long day od travelling the staff made us feel very welcome. This new hotel was presented beautifully and the suite was nice and spacious with plenty of room for us and baby. We found the porta cot for set up nicley in the corner. Our porter Josh was very efficient and attentitive. He made us feel welcomed from the first moment of arrival and helped with our every need. The Valet parking was easy to use, we just pulled into the driveway at the front of the hotel. The reception staff also were helpful and friendly. Our only negative was the restaurant which has recently opened, being new it had a beautiful setting and kind caring staff. It just needs a few tweeks to run more efficiently which I'm sure will come with time. Thanks for the lovely stay we will be back.
