Terrible experience, terrible service, terrible property. I booked through Expedia so some of my feedback is relevant to their profile there. - The MOST important thing you'll read about this hotel... IT IS ABOVE MANY PUBS AND VENUES WITH LIVE MUSIC. We stayed on a Saturday night and no joke, I could tell you every song that band played while I was upstairs trying to sleep before my 7am flight. The band stopped at about 3am after playing Stacy's Mom... I could hear it all from my room. Insane. At 3am, the consumer has the option of complaining and packing up to shift rooms for an hour before they leave or just trying to push through. If they put you on the second floor on a weekend, goodluck! - Free WiFi on their Expedia profile inclusions. Once there, we were told its like $10 for average speed or $24 for high speed. We told the guy we only book this place because of its location + parking (I'll get to that in a second) and its WiFi. We are international tourists, I need the ability to call people via WiFi. The service rep spoke over me in a tone that made me think people complain about this regularly and said 'what room? I'll just cover it.' Before I'd finished my sentence. Great problem solving, but poor people skills. - Rooms are tired. SO tired. The TV is like 4 metres away from the bed or chairs so almost impossible to see. The room is long, which is weird, so no composition of furniture would make it look good. - PARKING - we had to park publicly in another car park, and there's no pull in bay to drop off suitcases. We then were told to go over to the big multi-level car park across the road because it'll cost $10 overnight. It didn't, it was $15... but I also booked this hotel on Expedia because they say they have covered parking available.... why was I then directed across the street? I'll never stay at this place again and will be sure everyone I know traveling to Auckland doesnt make the same mistake.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel is positioned so beautifully above the Viaduct Basin in Auckland. We have not stayed in all the marina / harbour view rooms but I am pretty sure they would all have the same stunning views. The staff are always courteous, the rooms are spotless. Perhaps slightly tired, but still lovely. Priced well for a central city property. We always enjoy our morning cup of coffee on the balcony looking at the activity in the basin below and the harbour beyond. At night the Harbour Bridge is lovely all lit up. There does not seem to be an option for room service breakfast on their menu - this would be a welcome addition. Also, a few more guest car parks would be really helpful Great Job team - keep it up.

I have stayed here a number of times. This stay was a little disappointing as there were a number of things that created a negative experience. Firstly the door would not open and after attending the reception three times, a staff member came up and found the batteries to the electronic door lock were dead. Once being let in, we found the kitchen had not been cleaned and there was rubbish in the trash bin! Upon going to lock my passport into the safe, the safe would not lock. The pillows on the lounge were around the wrong way and the carpet in the main lounge area did not look like it had been vacuumed. Moving onto the positives, the staff were great and did their best to remedy these issues, all be it inconvenient. They did also bring a bottle of wine and hand wrote a personal note to sincerely apologies for the inconvenience. They did also offer another room, however I liked the location and view of the harbour from the room I had. Great location to Auckland CBD, restaurants, bars and also to the Ferry Wharf. Can be a little noisy at night, with surrounding nightclubs however all in all a good place to stay.

Large room, nice view and central but... very very noisy with music from bar. No chance of sleep. No member benefits - not even promised welcome drink or even a welcome note. Take an extra $50 from your card when you check in - why? No mini bar. Definitely not worth the money. So disappointed.

Excellent location and good service levels. Great, spacious suite rooms, some with sea views. This hotel has no bar or restaurant, but is set in the most vibrant area of Auckland. My wife and I had an excellent choice of local restaurants for both breakfast and dinner and some interesting local bars, many with music. You can even charge to your room in some of the local restaurants! Overall, a very comfortable stay.

Luckily we got this hotel free as part of our wedding package, I would have been very angry if I had paid money. This hotel trades on its excellent location above Viaduct Harbour and that is where the good points end. The hotel is dated with bland mid 2000's decor, there were cracked tiles in the kitchen and the curtains had holes in them. Not what I expect from a 4 star hotel in such a prominent location. The hotel also doesn't have double glazing. Our room was above a bar and we could hear the band playing below loud and clear until they stopped at 2am or 3am. The hotel urgently needs to double glaze and soundproof all the Viaduct facing rooms. I was charged a $50 deposit on check in, despite there being no mini bar or snacks in the room. Don't waste your money on this ridiculously overpriced hotel.

Surprised by the somehow negative reviews published here. We enjoyed very much our stay here (but did not overnight on Friday and Saturday). The apartment was very large (90 m2 with 2 independent bedrooms), and very well equipped. The view was fantastic, overlooking the harbor. The hotel does not have a pool but guests can use the gym club with a 50-m long pool and a spa opposite the street for free. There is a parking onsite by it is easily fully booked. We would had appreciated a later checkout especially since we checked in after 9 pm - but the hotel showed no flexibility.

This place was chosen for us and I was worried as had read the reviews about the noise - but I should not have worried - it was excellent from the moment we arrived. We arrived really early and were just going to leave our bags before our meetings but the kind staff found a room so we could check in straight away. Also - I am on crutches so they changed our reservation so it included a step in shower rather than one over the bath - this was so good - as we had not requested this . There is a ramp to the hotel and this room was good for people with limited mobility. Room included hob, oven, microwave, washing machine and dryer - we didn't use any of these as only here one night but would be good if staying longer. It had a great coffee machine -used that. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but as it is in the Viaduct there is plenty to wander to all on the doorstep - we recommend the Giraffe! Our room was quiet - I was worried re this but our room was so quiet - I think the noise others talk about is in the viaduct view rooms - we had a car park view room and didn't hear anything. - would really recommend it - don't need the view as you just wander down to the viaduct for meals and drinks and you have the view! The bed was comfy, amenities good. Only negative is it had a mini bar menu which I normally don't use but was back early so thought I might snack - but to use this you have to ring and order it - - it is not in the room. This was enough for me to decide not to, so maybe this is a positive! Also for some reason the door to the washing machine closet is hung the wrong way so if you want to use it , it could be awkward. But overall this was a great hotel in the perfect location (450m to ferries and close to shopping and right on the Viaduct ) and we would be back - if we can afford it.

Despite the lovely view from our Harbour View room, the room itself was dreadful. There were scuff marks and chips out of the skirting boards, shabby and uncomfortable furniture, a huge rip in the lining of one of the curtains in the bedroom. The safe didn,t work , it did initially but I opened it and it would not lock again, came up with 5555 reported it, man came said it was the batteries went away to get some , replaced them and yes it worked, until I opened it again !!!! gave up !!!!! The bathroom was a safety hazzard and the kitchen had drawers you could not open unless the cupboard the other side was opened, the fridge was really old and overhead cupboards were ridiculous and awkward. No one told us about the noise from all the bars and restaurants right underneath us, we were on the 3rd floor right above the Fox Pub, it was horrendous, we could not get any sleep, it wasnt only Friday and Saturday it was every night !!!!! We paid a lot of money for our upgraded room in , as advertised , a 4 star Hotel. There is nothing 4 star about it. I would advise anyone looking to stay here to be aware of the noise and the state of the rooms, it seriously needs renovation. We were seriously disappointed and felt totally ripped off

Stunning Sebel The most stunning thing about the Sebel Viaduct was the viaduct views and the lobby. The actual room was clean and comfortable. But dated. The bathroom needs a reno as was very shabby with paint chipped off the furnishing. The shower was good in the pressure. The room had a little kitchenette which was quite handy. The bed was comfy. The blackout curtains were good. The door was very noisy and I didn’t get a good sleep. Every time someone on the same floor returned to their room and closed their door, the door to my room would shake in its hinges. It made me feel as though someone was trying to open my door. I wouldn’t return here to stay.
