Cordis, Auckland, operated by Langham Hospitality Group, garners compliments for its spotless rooms and commendable cleanliness. While some guests have had issues with the shuttle service, the hotel's location remains a hit for its ease of access to local attractions. The luxurious amenities, including the spa, heated pool, and the lavish breakfast spread at Eight, are popular among guests, though opinions on value vary.
Room experiences are mixed, with the newer tower rooms receiving praise, but some find the older sections lacking. Service feedback is also divided, with commendable staff encounters alongside reports of service delays.

WOW 😮 This hotel is absolutely stunning just beautiful 😍 pure LUXURY. True five stars 🌟 and then some. As you pull up to the front of hotel, porters come and one opens the door and the other takes your bag. Then everything is taken to your room. The room is very well designed, large bath towels so soft so plush. Bath robes and slippers are also provided. This establishment has its own restaurant as well as a bar with snack food. Room service was the fastest I’ve ever received in my life. My tray was adorned with a glorious single Orchid, one of my favourite flowers, such a nice and thoughtful touch. It’s a little walk to Queens Street, main shopping centre and cinema complex. This is one of the best hotels 🏨 I’ve stayed in Worldwide and right here in glorious Aotearoa (New Zealand). Highly recommend to infinity

Upon entering our hotel room, my daughter was extremely surprised and delighted with her birthday balloons and chocolate plate welcoming her and wishing her a happy birthday. I was so happy with our complimentary upgrade and the amazing view of the city from our room, as well as being afforded the opportunity to experience the rooms in the Pinnacle Tower. Our room was in excellent condition, beautiful decor, extremely clean, comfortable beds and we absolutely loved the bathroom. The scent of the liquid hand and body soap was one of my favourites as well. Thank-you to your very lovely and friendly housekeeping staff Romika and to the team who had upgraded us, allocating such an awesome room.
Our visit to 8 restaurant the next morning was just wonderful where we were warmly welcomed and seated by Ligorio who took really good care of us and checked in on us from time to time to ensure that we were happy. A special mention to Kamesh who really stood out for me with his kindness, thoughtfulness and great hospitality. Thank-you to Ajay, Vincent and Pyn too. The team got together to sing happy birthday to my daughter and your head chef Volker had also surprised her with a special treat. The team were consistent in their service the very next morning as well and we felt extremely fortunate to be taken care of so well and with such excellent hospitality.
Thank-you to Peter at your concierge who was really friendly and greeted us warmly whenever we returned to the hotel with our vehicle. My little daughter also loved her visit to the spa and pool where she enjoyed swimming with me. Everything was so clean and well maintained. We loved dining at the Chandelier Lounge as well and the staff were really lovely too.
Thank-you Cordis Auckland as you played a pivotal role in creating a very seamless, most memorable and an extremely delightful stay for the both of us.

This hotel provided us the perfect stay at an excellent location. They offered us an upgrade to their Club Level and it was worth every penny. We stayed at Cordis in July, 2023, during the Women's World Cup at the recommendation of Travel for Phoebe from her YouTube channel and Cordis did not disappoint. The staff were friendly, attentive, and assisted us with our every need. The upgraded room included a bathtub, which was regularly used to relax after a long day of walking up and down Auckland's many hills. The extremely comfortable beds and pillows also gave us the restful nights we needed to recover. Breakfast and afternoon canape's and wines (included), as well as 24 hour access to unlimited bottled water, sodas (including the must-have L&P!), coffee, and teas made the upgrade worth getting. I'm still drooling at the memory of the Fern Waffles at Eight! The hotel offers a free shuttle every hour to Queen Street and Customs Street, which provides easy access to the CBD as well as the Britomart, train station, and Wharf. They even lent us an umbrella for the day, just in case it started raining (and, of course, it did!). While the pool was inviting, we elected to use the warm jacuzzi and spa during these winter months. Reasonably priced (for a hotel) laundry service was also provided (and needed). When next we are in Auckland, there is not other place we would want to stay.

Apparently this is a 5 star hotel, but I’m wondering if they meant 5/10. Front desk was operated by a max of two people even during peak times, making checking in and out feel like waiting in line for airport security. The rooms were crazy dusty and had numerous broken fixtures like a door that didn’t close properly, wonky toilet seat, TV that didn’t function, and wifi that keeps dropping out. Housekeeping were weirdly sassy about servicing the room, sighing when I asked for my linens to be changed, coming at random times (eg 6pm) to make up the room even though I was out all day.
Pool area is nice if you don’t mind the hike, and during school holidays felt more like a daycare than a “spa experience.” Food was overpriced and underwhelming, even the so-called luxury buffet style dinner area. Would not recommend.

The breakfast room offered a delightful array of mouthwatering foods and pastries, creating an inviting atmosphere to savor the morning meal. Each day, the room was meticulously cleaned, and attentive room service ensured that all my needs were met. I spent my days away from the hotel, out working from 7 AM until returning late at 9 PM. Therefore I found little opportunities to utilize other facilities.

House keeping can be improved ; we did not receive a bath mat or face towels, and our lock was broken. Additionally, we communicated to the valet 45 minutes ahead of time just to wait an hour and a half because Cordis staff failed to communicate with the valet parking to ask for our car. This delayed our daily activities severely and we were under a lot of stress. Cordis provided a $55 dollar refund for one day of valet parking to make up for the mistake which we were slightly satisfied with. Next time make sure to do things yourself and not rely on staff all the time :((
Buffet was amazing and had a wide range of foods and drink which delighted the whole family. It was the best experience ever! Health club and swimming pool also were satisfactory!!
Overall whilst we experienced bad situations, the hotel treated us well and we enjoyed the location.

The worst Five Star Hotel I've ever stayed in. The rudeness and incompetence of staff is frightful. I requested a chocolate Milk shake at 0100 am and was refused because it wasn't on the menu.
This property advertises itself as a 5 Star Hotel. Anyone privileged enough to be able to stay in Five Star accommodation would know that even the most basic requests are normally complied with without a fuss or hesitation. Not at the Cordis Auckland.
Not one of the night shift staff were interested or capable of making a chocolate milkshake.
This hotel is a joke and I definitely would not recommend anyone stay here.
Of course I was furious after such a simple request was denied
Reception Staff and night manager completely refused even after I went in person to Reception.
This is the pathetic response from the hotel when I complained in writing. Apparently staff need briefing on how to make milkshakesI
Kia Ora Andrew,
I apologise for the Delay as the Duty manager you talked to was out of the country and has recently returned I was able to get a proper briefing from both of them.
I do apologise for the Trouble you had with the milkshake situation I understand that this was a simple request. That should never have become such an issue.
Here at Cordis, we strive to deliver the best 5-star experience for our Guests and our Colleges and we expect a basic level of human decency and treatment between the two.
We appreciate the feedback as it helps us better our service.

We booked in for a 3night stay in Cordis Auckland to celebrate my son’s 10th birthday. I emailed the reservations team if they can maybe greet my son a “happy birthday” on a welcome card but they exceeded my overall expectations. They decorated the room with balloons, gave him free chocolates and gave him a greeting card. I am so surprised and was very impressed with that service.
Also, the room where stayed in was really clean, spacious and beautiful. The cleaners made sure to always clean our room and replace all used toiletries, towel, and robes with a new one. You know that they also made sure to make your bed, vacuum and mop the floors properly. I have stayed in some hotels that don’t clean the room properly. Cleanliness is very important to me so, this one is a big plus for us.
The staff were all very warm and welcoming. They made our stay really light and special. It’s good to see smiles everyday and ask how you are doing. The customer service they provide is superb. It’s amazing how they know what you need without you even asking for it.
They also offer free activities for the hotel guests which is something that not all hotels provide. They have free shuttle that goes in a loop around cbd.
They have free access to facilities like spa pool, pool, gym, sauna, snail shower and herbal steam room which we enjoyed visiting.
The buffet dinner and breakfast is very generous too. They have so many options to choose from and all of it were delicious. Seriously, how good is that?
Overall, i would rate it 11/10. I can’t think of any negative thing to say about the hotel.
Thank you, Cordis. We will make sure to stay in you hotel again.

Perfect with a bathtub to heal jet lag. Clean, warm and comfortable rooms. Effective and tasty in room dining and if you wish, filtered water is offered on each floor although tap water is safe to drink.

The Cordis has all the ingredients to be an amazing hotel, it just misses the mark with the small details. Booking a room for 2 adults and 2 kids and only getting 3 towels (3 trips this year, every time only 3 towels for 4 people) and dust on the shower head. Going to the gym at 5.30am and finding a man wandering the halls in his underpants confused was not the hotels fault, but security weren’t aware of him when called

I agree with Tanea, you would have to book that day if you want access to the room before the afternoon. Contact the hotel and ask them what is the earliest you can check in, they might let you at 1 or 2pm. In that case leave your bags with them and spend the morning exploring Auckland. This will help you adjust to local time better than sleeping all morning in the room will.
Hi Curly, that'd be a question for the hotel and I strongly recommend that you save all the emails as their internal systems are a mess. What the reservation team tells you could be totally different to what the front desk will tell you.

My husband uses the gym at the hotel all the time when he goes there but he has never seen any yoga mats. Cordis Auckland do have a Facebook page that you can message through, though. Fab place for a stay!
