I can not fault the friendliest of the staff, the room, the housekeeping, the sauna/spa/pool.
The reason for not giving 5/5 but 4/5 is the package we had included late check out of 12pm. At 10.15am Reception called asking when we were checking out - advised we had late check out for 12 noon, they said thank you. Then at 11.45am housekeeping knocked on the door also asking when we were leaving. We were going to wait another 10 minutes as the shuttle to the airport was booked for 12 noon but felt pressured to leave the room straight away after having a phone call and a knock at the door. That said no other complaints, they were so close to full marks.

It's convenient for taking the airport bus near Sky City. It's in the center, so it's a great location for eating and buying souvenirs. The front desk staff were very kind and understood my poor English. I stayed in a deluxe double room. There is a sliding door between the rooms, so you don't have to worry about the other person's snoring. It was in the older building, but the bathroom was nicely renovated and the amenities were good. There was a small kitchen in the room. There was no microwave, but there was an oven. There was also a bathtub, so it was comfortable. You can also adjust the temperature in the room.

Located on Hobstons Street in downtown Auckland, this hotel is a five minutes walk from the Sky tower. Our room on the 5th floor in the Tower wing was spacious with a kitchenette, washer/drier and all toiletries. While housekeeping is not done on a daily basis, supplies are replenished on demand. Check-in was seamless and the reception staff was very helpful. There is an in-house restaurant for dining. Highly recommended.

Our two bedroom, two bath suite was very large with plenty of room for both couples. Location is great as you can walk to most venues. The room however is dated and will require some modernization. The bedrooms are very spacious with plenty of room for luggage, a large TV to enjoy your favourite movie and comfy robes to keep yourself warm. The bathrooms are large but require additional counter space to place your personal supplies. The kitchen area is small compared to the suite size and did not have sufficient cutlery, coffee mugs and glasses. The fridge, stove and dishwasher worked great and are sufficient for a family. Cleaning staff were good but we needed to call the front desk a few times as they were not cleaning the suite on a regular schedule. It appears the hotel is short staffed and some staff require additional training and experience. Roof top pool area is very good with wonderful views of the city and harbour. If someone asked if we would stay there again I would have to say yes considering the location and price.

Arrived for check in at 2.15 pm - 2.45 pm we were still waiting to be checked in, our pre payment had not been allocated to our account , however the receptionist could actually see the payment in her reservation inbox , we were left standing there while she phoned her reservations team , berating them on how the payment allocation hadnt been done right , then proceeded to repeat it all to me again when she finished her call . I was not impressed and just wanted the key to my room so that i could take my tired kids up to the room , frankly it wasnt my problem it was theirs, then when she finally gave me room keys she asked for my payment for parking , which again had been prepaid , i attempted for the 2nd time to show her my receipt detailing this , and was met with quite a rude response so i said again this is not my problem from my side , you really need to sort this when i ve left reception . After a 3 hour drive with 2 kids this was not the welcome i expected . Then as we approached our room we could smell cigarettes / tobacco along the corridor , and it felt grubby and run down, our room indeed was grubby and run down, all carpets terribly stained, walls grubby and stained ,and shower door trim around the bath tub was off colour and slimy , the wear and tear clearly showing in this supposed 4 star hotel , We then went to the indoor pool area with the kids to unwind and relax, the tiled ledge the whole way around the hot tub was full of clumps of long black hair, (Gross) overall area felt so grotty and the Extremely strong stench of chlorine made us gag and our eyes water , when you smell chlorine that strong you do wonder why its required , does it indicate very high bacteria levels existed in the first place ? ... so for us never again . Heritage you need to update and upgrade , paint the walls , remove stained carpets and rugs , and re check the hygiene in the pool areas ! Interesting couple we met too by the way in the hot tub, who state they permanently live on site , crazy pair, quite high on something, canoodling in the hot tub, wearing interesting ankle bracelets. We choose this hotel based on all the glorious review online, we needed a treat , we wanted luxury and to be taken care of and too pamper ourselves, we were so looking forward to this holiday weekend , and arrived to discover that you couldn't even get as much as a cup of coffee, no restaurants , no bar, no café , no coffee cart, not even a vending machine , all of these closed with no reason provided to guests other than we can't offer any services right now. Major Dissapointment !

We deeply regret to hear about the issues you encountered during your stay, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment you and your family experienced. We understand that the check-in process was not as smooth as it should have been, and we apologize for the confusion regarding your prepayment and parking fees. We strive to provide efficient and courteous service to all our guests, and it's clear we fell short in this instance. We have taken note of your comments and we have provided our front desk team with additional training to prevent such situations in the future. We are also sorry to hear about the condition of your room and the hotel's common areas. We take pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for our guests, and it's disheartening to hear that we did not meet your expectations. We have shared your feedback with our housekeeping team and they have addressed the issues you've mentioned. Regarding the pool area, we assure you that we follow strict hygiene standards. However, we understand your concerns about the strong smell of chlorine and the cleanliness of the area. My wife and I stayed here for three nights at the end of an almost six week sojourn throughout New Zealand in a motorhome.
We had stayed here in 2019 at the end of a similar trip and enjoyed it. However our experience this time around has been quite different.
Since our last visit it seems Heritage Hotels has entered into a partnership agreement with TFE Hotels to refurbish and develop a number of Heritage properties in NZ including the Rendezvous Heritage in Auckland.
From our short experience ( 3 nights) we have been extremely disappointed that this hotel, which is ideally located in the heart of Auckland’s CBD does not offer breakfast during the week! Why we might ask does a central Auckland hotel, which must attract a wide range of tourists and business guests, not offer even the most basic breakfast facilities? Apparently breakfast is offered at weekends. Strange decision given most business people would no longer be around. Sorry but for a central CBD based hotel in Auckland not to offer even the most basic breakfast option is really, really poor.
How about dinner? Well there is a German restaurant on-site if you like sauerkraut and German sausage dishes but not a lot of other choices.
So the bottom line at present here is if you want to eat anything reasonably decent you have to go and find it elsewhere in Auckland!
We were also not particularly impressed with our room which backed on to a central covered atrium that looked down on the German restaurant so natural light was in short supply and because of being overlooked by other rooms it was necessary to keep the curtains closed and the room lights on to retain any privacy.
The bed was comfortable but the room and bathroom seemed tired and in need of a refresh.
All in all a very disappointing stay in a hotel that should be much, much better than it is. The lack of a breakfast option and the other limited dining options put it way behind the competition.
When next in Auckland we will definitely be seeking alternative accommodation.

This is a very strange hotel. Firstly, don’t believe anything on their website. We booked a tower executive suite on the basis that the pictures on their website shows the room has a view of the harbour. unfortunately that is only the case if you are lucky or like me, complain. Our original room had a view of a basket ball or tennis court (can’t remember exactly) and the office building opposite. After complaining we did eventually get a room with a view. The room was quite spacious and had good facilities. Washing machine, dryer, kitchen etc. Also their website said they had a bar. They didn’t. We booked this hotel as it has a rooftop pool from which you can watch the NY eve fireworks. We assumed we’d be assured a place on the roof and that there would be a bar. This was not the case. They had room for 180 people on a first come first served basis and there was no bar, no music, no decent seating, just a rooftop pool where you had to stand for an hour (to be assured access) then watch very average fireworks. Very disappointed.

Dear TheJLs, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent stay at The Heritage Auckland. My husband, six year old daughter and me stayed here for four nights recently.
My husband and I last stayed here around ten years ago when the hotel was quite flash. It does not seem like any maintenance was done in that time.
The room was a good size, but did seem very dated. The kitchenette was useful and meant we could have our breakfast in the room. Although our room could have a maximum of four people, we only got two glasses and one split in two after I washed it so we just had one glass for the three of us.
The hot tub was on the cold side, but was well used.
The hotel ran out of towels half the time we were there. We were promised that someone would bring new towels up, but they never arrived. On our last morning we just dried ourselves after a shower with damp, chlorine smelling towels.
No toilet paper was replaced and other amenities in our room so I constantly had to ask.
There is no hotel bar and the "German" restaurant was only busy when they had two for one breakfast. The restaurant carpet was badly stained and threadbare.
I would definitely not trust this hotel to cater to corporate clients or conferences. I think this hotel is only suitable now for families. The location is good.

This Hotel is just getting worse. The only redeeming feature is the open roof top pool. The Reception Staff are poor, check in was 1 hour 20 minutes late. The manager who's name is Pawanesh Madhwani was not there to help but to argue and accuse co workers of lying to me which they had not and not to help in anyway what so ever. Even when leaving no one asked how was your stay etc. Just very poor. On the positive, the pool is great. The cleaners are very good and people doing their jobs outside of management and reception are happy and nice to talk to. I will not be staying here again. No one should as for the money there are much better hotels in Auckland to stay at where you feel welcome and valued.

Hi, depends on your taste and if you appreciate older style buildings. The tower rooms didn't appeal to me seem as they just look like most standard hotel rooms. The main building is more art deco and had a more appealing decor to me. It is also easy access to Hector's restaurant and the lobby bar area.
The suite we booked gave us a surprising amount of space with separate bedroom, bathroom, lounge area, dining area and kitchenette. Great for when you just want to relax with a drink and some supper after a long day sightseeing.
So I guess it will come down to what you want in a space - the main building really did it for us :)
