Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was so happy to return to NZ after a few years of not being able to because of the pandemic. I grew up, went to school married and had my first child at the Northshore Hospital. Auckland is where my heart is and on my return felt so at home. Auckland has expanded so much, with wonderful stores and shopping malls. Everywhere you go people are so helpful. Seeing my friends and their grown up children was a treat in itself. Kiwis can’t do enough for you. Driving around to Mission Bay and having morning coffee and a fig scone, which I have never had is a great way to spend a morning. A must too is going over the Auckland Harbour Bridge which my dad, who was a civil engineer worked on, brought so many memories back. Auckland must go on your Places to Go list. If I could have stayed I would have.

We stayed several nights at this property during our visit to Auckland. The hotel is clean, offers a great breakfast (voucher for a nearby cafe), and the internet is ok, but not great. The rooms are on the smaller side, but the bathroom has a good shower. There is a bar that serves food (food is just ok) as well as a restaurant, which we did not have time to sample. The hotel is centrally located and one can walk to many of the things you might want to do while visiting the city.

Excellent location, great rooms and wonderful staff. We stayed in 3 interconnecting rooms, three bathrooms and two living areas, ideal for our three generations of family. The rooms were well equipped, spotless, beds comfortable and bathrooms great. The team were extremely welcoming and efficient, special thanks to manager who allowed us a late check out and to Eriko on the front desk. Highly recommend.

Stayed here as part of a so-called "luxury" National Geographic tour. The hotel was dated and there was no breakfast as you had to get a $28 voucher and go to the local cafe round the corner which didn't cover much. I was also sent an unexpectedpackage to the hotel which they didn't give me on check in so had to chase it. However if you have paid NZ$200 then this is a centrally located hotel.

This hotel truly should merit five stars; only the elevator issues detracted from our 4 night stay. The hotel is perfectly situated, the rooms are spacious and spotless, and the views from upper floors are wonderful. The pool is a great oasis, restaurants are plentiful and very close, and the housekeeping service is wonderful. Even with all those positives, the one reason that I absolutely loved this place was the staff. To a person, each of the people that we encountered was friendly, professional, and very helpful...especially to us as this was our first ever visit to NZ. A very special shout out goes to Alessa who helped check us in and was always smiling no matter how many times we asked questions of her. Another special mention goes to Eniko who helped us navigate a tricky restaurant reservation issue for a group of 10 of us at the last minute. She (along with help from Ajay), secured our group a table within walking distance with finesse and a calm that belies her age. She deserves a raise! This is a stellar choice to stay in the CBD of Auckland...especially when the elevators are 100% updated!

Lovely hotel smack bang in the middle of Auckland. Easy to get around, close to everything, good restaurants a couple of streets away (note there is no restaurant in the hotel), friendly welcome. Our suite was on the 16th floor and very well appointed. Unfortunately, our aircon didn't work and it was quite humid so we ended up sleeping with the windows open (thankfully NZ doesn't have the flies and mozzies that Australia are plagued with). Because of this, we were woken from 4am onwards when the road / subway workers started their shifts. The suite has lounge / dining / kitchen, separate bedroom with ensuite. Lovely furnishings and comfy bed.

City Life concept is my preference because of the large suites, with a kitchenette and washing machine and dryer. I have stayed here plenty of times over the years - both for work and for leisure. The restaurant used to be excellent for breakfast but unfortunately this has been closed for ages now, hopefully they will reopen this. 22nd floor had great views and no noise. Staff were friendly and professional. Parking is a little expensive but its valet. Location is mid Queen Street, so walking distance to cafes, restaurants, ferries etc..

Attention to detail, super clean and spacious plus great linens and towels. I would stay here again, great location, central most things. The hotel has been well designed and mine had a well equipped kitchen including a french press coffee pot, coffee and milk in the fridge. Nice bath products and towels were lush. A great property that should meet and exherd most people standards!
