Lovely updated room, awesome bathroom with nice quality toiletries . The shower was modern , spotless, and had good water pressure. The room was a good size and immaculate. tv area, mini bar, fridge , sink and tea , coffee were available in room
Even had a mini dishwasher that was very quiet . Attention to detail was obvious.
The only negative is the construction noise through the day if you need to sleep late .
Having flown 18 hours, we were so tired, but a nap was not going to happen .
But that was only on weekday hours. Weekends are quiet.
However, we Would stay there again regardless.
Nicely renovated and decorated , very comfortable and clean.
No balcony
The Location is great with bus stop and airport shuttle right outside the door.
Food at the restaurant was great and service was wonderful.
The lamb was so good, we went back a second time to have it again .

What was the old Scenic on Queen down from Mayoral Drive is now the Airedale Boutique Suites. The renovation has been tastefully done and the room furniture, fixtures and amenities are all brand new. I like this about a hotel since all too often hotel rooms look and feel stale from overuse.

The building is a triangular shape so some of the rooms are unusually shaped but I've stayed in two different parts of the hotel as well as different floors and both were truly satisfying stays.

I like the toiletries in the bathroom as well as the shower water pressure.

The new Trocadero restaurant is on the ground floor and open for early morning coffee @ 6am. The staff is most welcoming and hospitable. I recommend Airedale
if you want or need to be farther up Queen from the waterfront and near Aotea Centre or Q Theatre,

Stayed at this very nice hotel for four nights, we arrived from a cruise at the Airedale at around 9am, we had already asked if we could leave our suitcases prior to check in time but were extremely pleased to hear that we could actually book into our room at this time. The hotel room had been recently beautifully renovated and had everything required for a comfortable stay and was spotlessly clean, it is also handy for the main area of Auckland and has shops and restaurants nearby. Overall a very pleasant stay with polite and friendly hotel staff.

Ever since the property was Scenic Hotel, we always had tried to book this hotel due to its central location. Now it’s Airedale Hotel it’s next level. The refurbishments done to the lobby, restaurant, common areas and the rooms are modern and more inviting. The room is clean and very tidy. The lobby especially allows more guests to be rested in the spacious sitting area. The staff are accomodating and ready to help as always. The valet parking is excellent. The Sky Bus stop is also right in front of the hotel entrance and makes it very convenient location-wise.

A warm reception after an horrendous experience at Auckland Airport where it took 3 hours from plane to exit all queuing. Spotlessly clean room that was spacious and exceptionally well equipped. A very high quality bed ensured a great nights sleep with negligible road noise despite being near a major road. The bathroom had good quality fittings and amenities. The kitchen area had a well stocked wine fridge and normal fridge with dishwasher and all necessities. Breakfasts were excellent and the young staff were efficient, smiling and worked hard to please everyone. The restaurant was closed but bar snacks were reasonable and very good quality with again great hardworking staff. With the awful floods that hit Auckland the staff, especially duty managers and concierge, were utterly flexible in helping out guests cope with flight changes and cancellations. It is a tribute to all staff that they maintained such high standards and positivity under enormous pressures. In a very good location with good transport links this is a perfect boutique city hotel in Auckland and would unhesitatingly recommend it.

My wife and I stayed here for six night in May of 2021. I have only good things to say about the hotel.

1. The staff was not only competent but very friendly and helpful. They seem to be genuinely happy about working there.
2. The room was lovely. with a nice view over the city. Comfy, big bed and the the curtains blocked out the light so well that we overslept every morning. No noise from traffic or other rooms.
3. Housekeeping was perfect - and they never pestered us about when they could get in to clean the room. They must have been hiding around the corner to sneak in when we left!
4. It was our first visit so we had no idea what area to stay in. the location was ideal. The big theatres were across the street. Lots of restaurants in the neighborhood. The sky tower was a few blocks away, the harbor and Maritime Museum was a 20 minute walk. So, great location..
5. And we tried the restaurant; full marks there as well.

Only downside: the wine with the mini-bar is a bit pricey.

About as central as you can get being across the road from the town hall and Aotea Square on Queen St. Beautifully renovated, clean, spacious with sofas and kitchette. A delicious decent sized chocolate was awaiting my arrival and my room even had a big screen TV in the bedroom as well as the lounge area. The climate control system was easy to use and functioned very well in hot muggy conditions. Loved my stay

My son (5mo) and I had a lovely stay the room was brilliant and I would stay again. Concierge, Front of House, and restaurant staff (including breakfast chefs) are impeccable.

Waiter Gavin from the restaurant and the lovely young Indian woman on Front of House (I did not get her name) were so accommodating and the latter was both personable and conscious of our safety when we had early morning excursions.

The room facilities and furnishings were sleek yet comfortable, portacot made available for my child was made as impeccably as the bed for me.
Bathroom lighting great for a good selfie/make up/shaving session, amenities were also provided and smelled divine.

Have stayed at 5 star hotels and this would be on par apart from the mini fridge which I could not get to cool down (stayed at 22C and 11C respectively).
Location handy to public transport and local tourist attractions such as Aotea Square, Sky Tower and IMAX.
No view from my level/window but enough natural light in room during day. Quiet evenings even on nights that are notoriously noisy (student club nights).

Would stay again.

At a cost of nearly NZ$370 a night with breakfast I found this hotel rather disappointing for a four and a half star hotel (according to their website). My room was certainly not a suite. Although a good size and a comfortable bed, it’s a standard 4 star hotel at 5 star pricing.

The decor is pleasant enough with a good size bathroom. Although it does take awhile for hot water to reach the shower. My bed was close between a wall & the windows with hardly enough room to get into the bed from the sides.

There were a bunch of irritating issues. On checking in my reservation could not be found & reception was less than helpful. It was finally found after half an hour having been misfiled for the next day. The bar fridge temperature gauge is so bright it needs a towel over it to darken the room. The wall safe in the wardrobe is installed sideways, vertical, instead of flat making it less than ideal to use, the toilet tissue is so thin it’s difficult to do its job.

The breakfast choices are good but on Saturday they ran out of fresh fruit. How can you run out of fresh fruit, there is a supermarket down the road!!!

If this was a three star hotel I would give it a 4 but it’s not so it’s a 3 from me. Disappointing, could do much better.

We had an exceptional experience at Airedale. We arrived just as the cyclone was hitting and staff were helpful allowing us free early check in and advice. The hotel was extremely well equipped and designed, felt quiet and safe. We loved the living area that felt separate from the sleeping area, and coffee machine very welcome. I particularly liked the design of the shower which was fully adjustable for shorter or taller people. My favourite was the lighting, with dimmable lights in the bathroom and a range of lighting options in living and sleeping areas. There were many other small details I would recommend - this hotel gets the big things and the small things right!
