we had a room facing a very busy road and the traffic never stopped all night. If you are a light sleeper avaid this place.
the room was nice and clean spacious and the bed very comfortable.
The pool was lovely for a swim
Takapuna Beach is at the end of the road and lovely for a aternoon walk.
I would suggest that housekeeping defrost the fridge freezer as it was of no use in the state it was.

We spent 2 nights at Cranmore and loved the spacious room with beautiful gold velvet drapes with matching gold velvet dining chairs.
The bathroom was modern and huge, big enough for 2 people to use together.
The only problem we had was aircon was not working, but a call to reception quickly resolved the problem with a heater being supplied by the friendly lady at reception.
We did notice the coffee cups had coffee stains inside, maybe new cups needed?
Overall a very pleasant stay.

We had a deluxe studio room which was a good size with 2 beds, small kitchenette, table, desk, safe, air-conditioner and a 40” TV. The large bed was actually 2 singles joined together which was a little annoying but still comfortable. The bathroom was also large with a modern design but the shower had no door. Thankfully water didn’t flow into the bathroom. We appreciated the complimentary brownies in the room. There was plenty of off-street parking and finding a spot was never a problem.
Our one major gripe was the hotel was located on a busy road so you could hear traffic throughout the night. Sleeping with earplugs helped a bit but it wasn’t ideal. There’s no restaurant in the hotel but there are plenty of options relatively close by.

I had to phone this place with a query and the guy that answered was rude & argumentative. Never experienced anything like it. The complete opposite of HOSPITABLE. Only stay here if you want to deal with an obtuse, argumentative, unhelpful staff member. Wow, just wow.

We had 2 lovely rooms at this hotel and management and reception extremely helpful.
The location was great for us and the young ones enjoyed the pool.
Having a kitchenette enabled us to make breakfast, which was great as this hotel doesn't have a restaurant or bar, which is the only down side of this hotel.

I was very happy with my stay at the Carnmore Hotel Takapuna. I stayed 1 nights at the end of my trip to New Zealand.
I arrived very early by bus. I was dropped off a block from the hotel.
Ajin was wonderful. He allowed me to store my bag until my room was ready. He also recommended a nice coffee shop that was within easy walking distance.
The beach is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The downtown is relaxed. It has cute shops and plenty of services. Easy access to Auckland by transit.
The room was large with a kitchette, a huge window and a small deck. The bathroom was smooth dark, stone tile.
The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.
Krystal was at the front desk in the morning. She was very friendly and helpful, when I asked for directions.

Stayed for 2 nights on route home to the UK. Spotlessly clean comfy bed and lovely bathroom with a huge shower. Our room was facing the road but the noise didn't bother us it was so comfy. Couldn't use the pool as the weather unfortunately wasn't great. Staff were very friendly and it's close to shops/restaurants. Room also has a microwave sink and fridge which was useful will definitely stay again.

Was good until they started doing maintenance at 7 in the morning hammering and banging on the door just outside our room. Very Loud and woke everyone up. But great location and friendly service from everyone but the maintenance worker who was quite rude.

The staff were helpful.
Bed was comfortable, however.
Visible cobwebs in several places on the ceiling.
Previous guests sticking plaster laying on shelf .
Cups were not clean and stained quite badly.
No dishwashing liquid to clean cups.
Only one glass in the cupboard., no tea spoons.
Etc .

We stayed at the Carnmore for two weeks while we were visiting family in New Zealand. We could not have been happier. Our room was spacious, with a good bathroom with separate shower and deep bath. Room cleaning was efficient and Agin, the manager, was both available and very helpful. Good location for Takapuna. Recommended.
