Great location, friendly and so efficient staff, rooms are well appointed, sunny, and clean. Pool, spa and sauna first class. Dining experience is hard to beat, great ambience, food quality really good, service exceptional. Pleasure to stay here.
They say love is sweeter the second time around. It's true for our 2nd stay here at Sofitel Viaduct. We celebrated our bday month before treating ourselves to Wellington. It was one of our most memorable stays at Sofitel Auckland. From check-in to check out, it was impeccable. The room is more than what I have expected. We enjoyed the facilities, above all the club lounge was really something unique and highly recommended to experience if you are booking their higher tier rooms. It was truely a great way to pamper and indulge yourselves. But of course, the wow factor comes from customer service from reception, together with the club lounge staff (Thai Lady) of Club Millesime were definitely a delight and made our stay really enjoyable and looking forward to stay again in our future special occasion. Once again, thank you for the great job from higher management (Stephen), Bret and the rest of the team! Rising above despite difficulties of hospitality industry.…
This is the third time I stayed at Sofitel, the service is still very good, I really enjoyed the spa treatment there, I mistakenly booked SO/spa online and Sofitel spa staff helped me to cancel it and booked me in at hotel the same day. The spa facility is really good. The restaurant dinner is not as good since the French chef left, not much a French flare. I understand it is hard to retain staff in the pandemic. The hotel is good but rooms need a bit touch up now, some of the blinds in the room is not working properly, unfortunately Sofitel is not supply small single use body washing and shampoo anymore instead it is using big bottles fitted on the wall which can be refilled, but the body wash was run out and the pump of the hair conditioner was not working properly, house keeping replaced it promptly. There is no turn down service and free bottles of water at bedside too. I felt it is not as luxury as before. The reason I will rerun is for the service. The house keeping lady, checking in staff and concierge are so great, I felt just like be in a family. I will definitely return to support Sofitel in such a tough economy time, and hopefully the French chef will return in the future.…
I feel compelled to share my fantastic experience staying with 2 of my adult daughters. The stay was truly memorable from beginning to end. Service on arrival was friendly and welcoming. My short notice request of having an extra bed added for a daughter seemed to be no bother. The room was beautifully appointed overlooking the marina. Robes and slippers were provided and bottled water. A lovely touch was a turn down service in the evening of extra water, chamomile tea and chocolate. It was great to see large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower which is a great step towards helping the environment doing away with the little plastic bottles. The exceptional service was really appreciated and was a stark contrast to the hotels I had recently stayed at in North America and New York. Sofitel Viaduct is a standout hotel and is my choice of hotel in Auckland and even more so appreciated after staying at other hotels.…
Absolutely loved it here! Can't say enough good things. At check in we were upgraded to a room with a interior water view which we were very appreciative of. The room was huge with plenty of space for a cot for the young one. As we were travelling with him, we decided to get room service instead of heading out for dinner, all the food we had at the hotel, including the room service was superb. The service we received was top notch, a credit to the brand. They arranged transfers to and from the airport with the all important car seat. Special mention to Madison at the front desk, she was excellent. In my eyes, this is one of the best hotels in New Zealand, wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
We upgraded to a premium room which had nice views of the marina and a comfortable bed. Considering the current environment with covid, the room was only clean to a basic standard and not to the quality expected for a 5 star hotel. We understand that many hotels are struggling for staff right now but this is no excuse for the cocky attitude and welcome we experience we received by the porter on arrival. Unfortunately our special night at Sofitel was not so special. We hope they lift their game before our international visitors return.
We book the harbor view room with club access. quite a lot of money but a weekend away so wanted to spoil ourselves. nice room, nice view etc. there was no info on the club room provided, normally would expect a letter from management advising times and location etc. found the club room on the bottom floor with no real view as I would expect, food was very disappointing, dried up sausage rolls, prawn twists and a bit of cheese. no way near the expectations of a French modeled hotel or experiences I have had elsewhere. i am still not sure what time it was drinks and canapes where meant to start but at 6pm things were just starting to get sorted out and definitely did not feel like the description on their site and not worth over $800 per night. As mentioned room was nice, the air con was broken and stuck on warm, so we left the window open to cool it. i am sure they would have fixed it but by the time we worked out it was stuck on warm it was later and we could not be bothered with the fuss. Breakfast the next morning again was good, but not great and again felt like attention to detail was missing. nice hotel and would stay again but not book club rooms or the breakfast.…
I absolutely loved my Sofitel stay. I was upgraded to a very palatial suite and enjoyed the harbour views, Hermes toiletries and cocktail hour in Club Millesime. The staff, especially at check in and the staff attending to Club Millesime, were exceptionally kind and attentive. I can’t wait to come back and enjoy more of this elegant property, perfectly located by Viaduct Harbour!
Great location. Service was friendly. We spent some time in the day spa enjoying a couples pamper treatment. We had a relaxing massage, a pampering facial, finishing off with a hot spa bath together with bubbly, it was all well enjoyed, highly recommend. We felt the dress code was too relaxed in the hotel, while they advertise a certain standard they don’t enforce it. Men were walking around in beach wear, quite a few in jandals and board shorts, not what you expect for a 5 star hotel, especially when dining in their restaurant, we felt over dressed in smart casual, lol. Be mindful that the clubroom closes early, 7:30pm, that caught us off guard (our fault for not checking) as we’re use to later times at other hotels we stay at. But otherwise our stay was great, room was clean, lots of extra towels in the bathroom which was nice and they did a nice little congratulations plate which was lovely and appreciated :)…
It was great to see the hotel buzzing this week with school holidays and Aussie tourists. Service was as good as ever, however, so chapeaux to the staff. Breakfast was much better with the continental part of the menu served as a buffet. Overall an enjoyable stay!
