Ideal location, quiet and clean, with easy no fuss access to the city. Easy to snag a taxi, or walk 10-15mins to train and bus transport. Good amenities close by with a cafe underneath and a well stocked metro supermarket on the corner, and waterfront and Viaduct restaurants and bars a pleasant 10min stroll away.
Had a wonderful night in this fabulous inner city hotel. It was the perfect location a very short stroll to the viaduct bars and restaurants. Lots of shops and cafes nearby. The room itself was just perfect. Big comfortable bed, well appointed bathroom with lovely sized shower, lovely decor and the most amazing views of the city. It was really quiet. Carpark right next door was very convenient. (wee tip if you book direct in April you can get for 50% off!) Highly recommend. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Auckland. Thank you so much 😊
Stayed overnight, well located with plenty of restaurants below in the Wynyard district. Unobtrusive service, polite staff, supermarket underneath, highly recommended, get a marina view room. Late checkout was politely granted.
Wow! I was impressed by the cleanliness of this hotel! From the reception area, the lift, the corridors to our room. You can excuse the dust in the room because no sooner after the cleaning is done more dust settles. It’s impossible to control and common in all hotels or other accommodation services. The walls are decorated with beautiful canvas prints of New Zealand fauna and flora. The rooms simple but clean. No frills- minibar or Sky TV. Just a comfortable bed and a great view of the local marina. The opposite views of the building are cityscape. We chose the seaside view to celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary. Countdown is right downstairs as are local eating venues. A short walk of around 8 minutes will see you arriving at the viaduct village and bottom end of town for all the eating or drinking entertainment you crave. There is even a mini golf venue in the middle of it all. If you don’t feel like walking that far or for that long, the bus stop is 1 minute from the hotel with buses running every 10 minutes. The lovely hotel staff are friendly and kind. They can point you in the right direction if you get confused. Travelodge Auckland is conveniently located and certainly worth every cent.…
A nice place to stay but you have to pay for parking, which was a massive cost over the room. Unfortunately we will not be staying again for this reason. Room was lovely and clean however and the staff were awesome.
I have stayed here 3 times over 2021. You can't fault this place as a new stay that opened during Covid-19 they are doing exceptionally well, in customer service and specs perhaps better than other 4-5 star hotels around the CBD. It is a stay that offers only the room, with snacks available near the check in front desk, manager available on site around the clock, off street park and a near by paid parking if available(almost always is). The countdown metro is on the corner which offers delhi range, warm meals, patisserie styled Baked sweets so you basically have out house food on the go (6am - 8pm) just outside the front entrance. Pre authorisation on arrival requires a debit or master card with $1 pre authorisation amount. The rooms have different options i've done king and twin, all of which are consistently the same in cleanliness and beautiful views of the city skyline and skytower or viaduct and harbour bridge if you get the full floor to ceiling window rooms. I loved this placed as it works well for those travel on a budget or requiring a value stay such as business or pleasure or both. Why i haven't returned here, my preference when possible and practical - is a stay option that offers sauna/spa and other in house services. However, not all can do that and i don't recommend any hotelier to scale for the sake of it when what they are offering is exceptionally good and works! 6/5 stars …
Travelodge at Wynyard was a great spot for exploring the waterfront, CBD and Ponsonby areas, or attending events in the area. Lots of facilities close by, extremely comfy bed, great sound proofing. Great for a single person travelling on business, but equally good for a weekend with family.
Modern, clean, quiet, compact accommodation in the viaduct. Room is well appointed with an excellent shower. King size bed was very comfy, however we had to pay $60 more to get a king bed instead of twin beds. The fan in the bathroom was on all the time so we closed the door to sleep. The tv needs retuning to get all the free to air channels like Eden etc. No Sky TV. Double glazing and good block out drapes meant we slept in until 9. Nice that check out is 11am. Easy parking right next door in the adjoining parking building. $45 a day …ouch. But all city hotels charge for parking so we expected that. Countdown is under this hotel and open 6am-8pm. The Pantry just a few minutes walk away is great for breakfast. We were happy to stay for a night.
Happy to stay again at Travelodge Wynyard. Being pretty new, it is clean and tidy, and the staff are always ready to help. It is my favourite when I travel up from Hamilton for business, as it is a 5-minute walk from our Auckland Office.
i like Wynyard Quarter Travel Lodge because: -The rooms are comfortable and very quiet and peaceful, especially for Auckland City -Close to our Auckland office and restaurant options for dinner -its affordable, especially for Auckland city The check in was easy and efficient and room was modern and clean
