North Lodge renovated their rooms in 2022 and offers safe, quality and quiet budget accommodation. We are a small hotel with a quiet, restful atmosphere for travellers. We are not a party hotel. North Lodge is situated about 5 - 10 minutes walk from the centre of Perth City and is close to all of the major public transport facilities and is right on the edge of the free transport zone. We have a range of different types of rooms from twin rooms, double and single rooms to apartments with ensuite facilities. Three of our rooms are self-contained apartment rooms with one queen bed. All rooms have air-conditioning, ensuite facilities and also have a microwave, TV, toaster, kettle and small fridge.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is perfect if you need a cheap room to attend functions in the Mount Lawley area. The price made it cheaper than an Uber there and back so it was a no brainer. It’s nothing fancy but the rooms are safe and comfy and you won’t find better value for money. The room was large and the shower was hot. Towels need updating and the digital TV channels didn’t work, but we enjoyed it. No tea/coffee/milk or soap in the room so take yr own. Our only real gripe was that checkout is strictly 9.30am. 99% of places are 10am. Doesn’t seem like much but on a rare weekend without kids that extra sleep in is valuable 😀. Would definitely stay here again for inner city functions.

Glad we booked to come here for lunch as it was pretty busy. Great food, in particular the seafood linguine washed down with a carafe of vinho verde. Totally outshone 'On the Quay' on St. Mary's. Would recommend.

Booked 4 nights into a superior apartment. Quite roomy and clean with single and double bed. Very handy to Perth and rail station. Free bus service City Cat blue stop at stop 6 about 5 minutes walk with IGA on way. The room was adequate and ground floor. Clean and very quite. Although advertised as kitchenette, this consisted of a table with a toaster, jug and micro. Adequate for me. Coffee making facilities advertised but first night no cups, glasses or cutlery in room, though lots of plates. No tea or coffee either. Next morning cleaner rectified on request. Small glitch but enjoyed my stay as value for money and ideal location.

Room spacious but the floor was filthy. I don't think it had been vacuumed for ages. There were dirty tissues and other items under the bed. Staff were okay but the receptionist was only in attendance morning and evening to collect money. A person called Frances never answers the phone or returns any messages. I believe she is (or was) the owner. Price was okay but was too dirty for me. Would not recommend.

Francis is a lovely lady who runs the lodge & gives it a homely feel. She works hard to keep the place clean, even with some fresh flowers about the place. On my arrival Francis gave me a map with helpful tips of where to visit. As a solo traveller felt very safe here. The room had kitchen utensils & TV. Bus stop just outside the door, with a short & free trip to the city,

We stayed for a few weeks in Dec 2017/Jan 2018. Great location, within walking distance of the main shopping area and the station. The room was great for what we needed, with a microwave, kettle, toaster, TV, and fridge/freezer, air conditioning, and the cooking and washing facilities are good too. But the main positive about this place is the owner, Frances. We’ve been travelling for several months and have not met an owner as lovely and generous. Upon checking in we were upgraded to an en suite room for no extra charge, and Frances gave us loads of great advice and tips about the city. She even offered to drive us to some of her favourite areas herself! Very reasonably priced too. Overall, a great place to stay made even more special by the incredible owner, Frances!

North lodge is lovely i stay in Perth for December and January. The Lodge is close to the city , near bus stop and local shops. it is quiet and has a kitchen. The Owner Francis is wonderful , she is very helpful going out of her way to help guest and she knows where best to visit in Australia. i couldn't recommend this place enough and would love it if i return to Perth to go back to North lodge and to see Francis again. I hope she is okay.

We had a double room with ensuite. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Good kitchen facilities etc. Helpful staff. Quiet inside house. Well located for a city visit. just one block from Chinatown and on bus route to city. The area is pleasant, tree lined streets behind the building. Some interesting other buildings nearby.
