Oaks Cable Beach Resort is applauded for its cleanliness, with guests enjoying the pristine rooms and well-kept grounds, alongside its tranquil atmosphere and comfy bedding. While the resort's location is favored for its beach vicinity, some guests find it not as close to Cable Beach as expected. Opinions on the rooms vary; they're often seen as clean and spacious, yet some visitors report them to be worn and disappointing. The resort's service and amenities receive mixed reviews, with the dining and pool service falling short for several travelers, leading to feelings that the resort doesn't offer good value for money.

Most of the reviews are spot on. Limited restaurant times with a limited evening menu that is predominantly pizza or deep fried.
Pools are locked at 6.00pm because it is a local council requirement that they cannot stay open later unless they are staffed. So they could stay open if they wanted to.
Yes there are minimal staff but other places have a lot of staff so there’s usually a reason for that.
Whether your room has housekeeping or not, the effect is very similar. Housekeeping equates to emptying the bin and rearranging the towels. We pulled our beds up and they did nothing more with them. And yes our shower was grimy just the the photos posted by others. Again you could blame staffing but the resort is 40% permanent resident (unserviced) so it doesn’t really justify it.
Lastly, hire a car. Oaks Cable Beach doesn’t offer transfers or a courtesy bus, it is not in a convenient location and no one we spoke enjoyed the hourly tourist bus service.

Hello "PG6569", Thank you for providing us with the gift of feedback. Please note that council's guidelines on pools are that they can be opened as long as they have sufficient lighting hence we close it prior to sunset and nothing to do with staff. I apologise for the shortfall on housekeeping standards but the percentage mix on permanent is incorrect. Thank you again for helping us improve & we hope to welcome you back in Broome! Warm regards, Vic Pahwa

TV remotes: 1 remote had no batteries. The other remote had flat batteries.
WIFI: Oaks advertise free WiFi however, I recieved 2x pre paid cards that only last an hour.
Dining: I pre called the oaks to ask to book in for dinner on 31st December, I was advised they were closed and the restaurant would not be open. Upon arrival of stay I found out they were open.

There is nothing wrong with this Resort. The pools are excellent, Restaurant reasonable and the rooms large and comfortable. They just need to spend a bit more on the amenities. The dishwasher/kitchen utensils/towels etc are just the absolute cheapest items around. Im sure it wouldnt take a lot more to get so much better. We had a 2 bedroom but the second bedroom with 2 beds is awkwardly placed so you cant open the cupboards. The master bedroom door cant be closed without pulling the floor rug up each time! Anyway its within a 10 min walk of Cable Beach and we enjoyed our time there. The front staff are very helpful and a special thanks to Nadia for helping us out with a nights booking where we couldn't get on a flight. Many thanks Nadia!. Overall at a good price this place is fine!

This resort was close to Cable Beach (10 minute walk) and had a bus stop right out the front which made it easy to get to either Cable Beach or into town.

The multiple pools are amazing - huge, very clean and plenty of sun lounges. The grounds are lovely with lots of greenery.

Units are clean and spacious, lots of air conditioning and lovely outdoor balconies or deck.

We stayed for a week. We had to queue for over 1/2 hour to check in after a very long flight to Sydney. Not a good start. The room they assigned us was right up the back of the property and the outlook from the outdoor area looked onto a rusty fence. We paid extra for a larger two bedroom apartment but no different to a small one and when we complained about the poor view they moved us to a one bedroom room which wasn’t much better but it was closer to the pool area. They made sure to say we wouldn’t get a refund for this room change. So, we had a comfortable bed and a nice pool, albeit it gets closed at sunset. The WORST thing about this horrible place are the cleaners. We had no cleaning service on Anzac Day because “apparently” management think people don’t want their room cleaned on a public holiday ... We believe it was simply cost cutting. When they did “clean” the room they replaced towels and coffee/tea only. After we complained we hit a really good clean - once! AND they even made the bed!! Over the next few days the cleaning did not get done again, all they did was replace the towels. One day they left our complimentary milk in the bathroom. When I complained at reception I got a blank look!! I said it’s just basic sanitary cleaning, particularly during covid. I don’t think the bathroom splash backs have EVER been cleaned. Look at my photos. We sought a late checkout and were told no due to them needing time to clean the room!!!! The swim up bar does not open, the restaurant opens at around 6 and closes at 8. So stupid!! Why not have a pool service-selling drinks and snacks? The whole place feels sterile, like you’re living at someone’s house. We couldn’t get into the Cable beach resort which is why we stayed here. Don’t call yourself a resort because you are not a resort. Go elsewhere!

The whole of Broome is struggling to get staff so I write this with that in mind .
Check in was quick and easy staff friendly and helpful. Room was excellent, we had 84 which was a ground floor 2 bed apartment. Clean modern and had everything you need. Only downside was it backed onto the bush and we had requested a pool view if possible.
The pools are fabulous, lots of choice for children and adults. Beds can be at a premium and sadly some people’s manners had deserted them as they placed towels on only to disappear for 2/3 hours. Lots of shade.
Bad bit - due to lack of staff most of the food facilities are shut during the day and night. They do open but only for a limited period. The staff that are left are fantastic and very helpful. This wouldn’t normally be an issue but the hotel location is a good 20 min walk to cable beach coffee and food outlets. Still it’s a lovely hotel and I would stay again.
My tip - hire a car even for just 2/3 days (book at least a month in advance) or be prepared to use the hourly bus service or hit and miss taxi services.
Then get provisions you need from Wollies/Coles, bottle shop etc, see the sights that a tricky to get to when you have the car and the local sights when you don’t.
But all in all a great getaway and great hotel.

I would like to start with a positive, the pool is amazing! lots of shade and plenty of lounges. That's where it ends. Our one bedroom apartment was tired, lack lustre and generally dirty. The room isn't serviced, during our six night stay the sheets were never changed and the room never cleaned. I had to go the local supermarket to buy cleaner, to give the bathroom etc a once over. The "resort" offers food service on its website, this is incorrect. The only meals offered is dinner on a weekend. You will need a car to get to any restaurant etc. If you are still charging full rate, you need to let you patrons know they are not getting what they are paying for. Many hotel guests were very disappointed at not being able to get at least breakfast. I understand lack of staff is a huge issue, however, you need to communicate this is patrons.

The hotel rooms were in themselves good sized and room aplenty. The location was good - 10 minute walk to Cable beach but three things spoiled it...

(1) the room they gave us had no view of the pool like the advert and the room's verandah overlooked the back fence and the caravan park... with all the noises that entails.

(2) sitting around the pool, we requested a beer mid-afternoon (a not uncommon activity when one is on holidays), but was advised everything was shut until 5....... weird for the amount we paid for the stay!

(3) the food in the restaurant was mediocre - more atune to a cafe, and not one we would eat in again

Overall our stay at Oaks Cable Beach was good. The rooms are clean, spacious and modern. We had a 1 bedrom apartment overlooking the main pool which was beautiful. The resort grounds / gardens are stunning.
Whilst we understand the challenges faced with Covid we were disappointed to learn on arrival that the restaurant was only open Fri - Sun for breakfast and dinner. The bar was not open at all during our stay. Part of the decision in staying at this location was the restaurant & bar option given it's location is not particularly close to other dining/bar establishments closer to Cable Beach itself.
Luckily we had a rental car so this wasn't a huge issue however given we paid full price (booked back in January) I think this was very disappointing.

We stayed 5nights at the Oaks in a 1 bedroom apartment which was very well suited to our needs. There was everything we needed in the kitchen area which had stove top, oven, microwave, 2 door fridge and dishwasher. Furnishings were clean and modern, a balcony with 2 lounges (some had table and chairs), a comfortable king bed and roomy bathroom. I did think the taps and kitchen sink needed a clean but on trying to do this myself I think the water used in Broome leaves a residue, also noticed this on our hire car windows.
The pools were fantastic! We only used the main two pools and the temperature of the water was perfect! Pool lounges were at a premium, with some having towels on them most of the afternoon but no one using them! Annoying fellow pool users.
Staff very friendly and most helpful, thank you.
We hired a car after 2 days, to get the most of your stay you need one. Local BE bus was good, just not enough for us. We also took the Panoramic Broome tour on the first day, excellent!
Millies for coffee in Millington Street was lovely and an easy walk around the corner.
All in all a great holiday thank you Oaks
