We stayed here over Easter holiday.

Location is the best with Flinders St Station right in front of it, Woolies and Coles within 3min walk, and restaurants and takeaway shops being everywhere nearby. Even for sightseeing, all the major spots are within walking distance.

With the room and facility, we stayed in a family room consisting of 2 bunk beds and a king size bed. It was quite roomy and the ceiling is very high so you don't feel too congested.

The building has a share kitchen and fridge and laundry.

If you are staying here with your car, you can find a parking building or street car park. We didn't have issues to find a spot on street as it was Easter and the city was quiet

Am definitely coming back here for my next visit in Melbourne!!

I stayed in the hostel on my own last November. I shared a room with 12 girls and it was an incredible experience. The room is spacious and the bed is comfy. The room also has several fans, highly appreciated it during the summer season.
The staff was helpful and gave me recommendations on what to visit in the city. The hostel also organizes activities and tours around the city for free.
The location of the hostel is really good, close to Flinders Station and the CBD.
If I ever come back to Melbourne, I will for sure book a room in the hostel!

I flew down to Melbourne for a concert, and just needed a cheap place to crash for the night. I don't normally stay in hostels, but my budget didn't allow for a private hotel room. This hostel is on a lane that opens up onto Flinders Street, not far away from the station, and an easy walking distance up to Burke Street Mall, and over to the Forum Theatre. Trams are also nice and close. The lane that the hostel is on is also full of food options, and there is a Coles and Woolworths a block away, so everything is very close.

The staff were very nice and helpful, and they offer walking tours of Melbourne in the mornings. They have free Wi-Fi, and they do free pancakes in the morning in the kitchen. I stayed in an 8 bed shared dorm, and it was clean and comfy, the bed had its own power point and night light. The room was quiet during the night too, which was great.

My only complaint was that there were only two toilets on my floor, and one of them was out of order. I didn't have to wait too long to get in during the night, but it also wasn't too busy on the floor, so for one night it was okay. There were plenty of showers though.

All in all, this is a great place to stay!

Be aware that most discount bookings with this hotel are usually at NON-REFUNDABLE terms. I mistakenly booked for the wrong month and it cost me nearly $500 for that mistake. Even a month out from the booking I could cancel and the money (which was taken from my credit card account within minutes of the booking) will not be refunded. BE WARNED. As for whether the hotel is any good, I'll never get to know, but I know their terms and conditions suck!

I stayed at United for approximately 4 weeks in January and I was made to feel very welcome from the very first day. The staff are extremely accommodating and go out of their way to make your experience fun. It's a very clean backpackers hostel one of the cleanest I have ever seen in Melbourne.

The energy the entertainment staff bring to the table is exceptional and they were easily the highlight of my stay. They understand that it's about getting people involved and making it memorable. One of the hosts was Josh and is a huge accet to United with a real natural charm and a very likable guy, hell of a DJ too I have to say.
Charlotte for me was the glue of the team. She is a beautiful girl who has a winning personality and from what I saw people and guests alike simply gravitate towards her and her enthusiasm was infectious. If you are looking for a fun hostel with an amazing team then United Backpackers gets my full endorsement. Keep up the amazing works guys.

Hi,

I am currently staying at Selina Melbourne central and it's 1am cannot sleep due to loud noise from washing machine and dryer. I have recorded sound that I can share.

I went to reception no one there and there is Whatsapp number to contact for assistance. I did send message on Whatsapp and have been informed that they will inform the manager tomorrow.

No assistance to stop the washer and dryer so paid guest can sleep.

I return to this hotel because last week Saturday the service was ok and today it's far terrible.

Loved the location - right by Flinders St station and amongst an awesome strip of cafes/restaurants. Was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful and it was good value for money for just the one night stay.

Only downside were that the walls seemed thin - I'm a light sleeper and was woken up whenever the other doors slammed shut or people walking down the hallway.

Overall, it's a very groovy and centrally located property and would recommend if you are after something simple and has value for money for a night or two.

Right in the heart of Melbourne. The hostel has very good security with every room needing a security card to get into, which they give you as a bracelet. Activities offered every day. They also have a great co-working space with quiet booths. Perfect stay. CRACKER!

I loved this place, when I spend few days ins Melbourne. It is close to the city centre, so you can walk easily to the river or the market place. They have a bar downstairs where you can have a beer and meet people from all over the world. I enjoyed it and made some friends down there. As i prefered to stay in a private room, I was really happy with the room, the atmosphere plus: it was very clean.

They're pretty big but honestly most of the ladies in my dorm (ladies only dorm) used them for valuables and left our clothes in our bags by the side of beds it was much easier access. Admittedly less secure and 1 or 2 items of clothing for some ladies went missing but I didn't have a problem. you can always keep ur bag locked too if it won't all fit in the locker.
