Urban apartment exceeded our expectations during our stay there. It was situated right in the heart of the city with easy access to all the transportations required. Service staff are polite and helpful and the amenities are complete with all the facilities required. We stayed for a week but only brought clothing for 3 days as there was a washer and dryer provided within the unit. The apartment was also very quiet.
I would recommend this apartment to visitors who wish to stay in the city of Melbourne.

My only negative was having to step into a bath to have a shower, sometimes of a night time the motor cycles were very noisy late at night. It was an easy walking distance to the clinic I was visiting and pathology .
They were very thoughtful with everything they provided for you in the kitchen and bathroom having a washing machine was a bonus

What a hidden gem in Melbourne! Location was 10/10, staff were helpful and friendly, and most importantly, the room was not only beautifully furnished, it was considerably bigger than expected for a studio.

Absolutely will return for another weekend getaway!

This was the single worst stay I have had in a hotel in my entire life.
On arrival, AFTER the check-in process, we were informed at the air conditioning was not working, but we will be given free mini bar to compensate.
The 'free mini bar' was two melted Kit Kats, two bottles of water and a packet of chips. This in itself was insulting. Insult was exacerbated when seeing a note in the room saying please enjoy our free snacks. The free snacks are standard with any stay and were not actually 'free mini bar' or any form of compensation.
We spent three days in sweltering heat unable to sleep. We had to sling the cheap Kmart fan practically out the window to get any form of cool air into the room at all.
After reading many Google reviews on the hotel, we discovered that the aircon has not been working for over nine months.
It seems to me the hotel has no intention of ever rectifying this.
This is a disgusting and deceitful way to run a business.
Negative stars.

Our experience was the total opposite of some who rated this hotel poorly.
We were very happy with everything at this hotel.
The location is central to everything and is surrounded with great shopping outlets and complexes.
The tram system runs close by & it is easy walking distance to the Chinatown area which was very interesting with great restaurants.
Our room was much better then expected with separate living & sleeping areas. The kitchen is self contained and had everything you could want. A clothes washer/dryer was in the bathroom along with a good sized shower with plenty of hot water. The room was clean and serviced on request. There is that advice on their website and also at the front desk. explaining that it was due to Covid & lack of staff. Those reviewing less favourably must have missed that. Our room was serviced very well when we requested it each 2nd day. That was more than acceptable. Praise to all staff including the reception area where we found staff to be extremely helpful. Well done them all.

Great location in middle of Melbourne CBD, with its shopping centres, malls, tram lines, café alleyways, supermarkets, restaurants, entertainment venues, nearby Chinatown, etc. Reception were friendly and kindly assigned me a room on a high floor with a nice view. Note, 1% surcharge when paying with credit card.

One bedroom executive apartment – not flashy modern but felt friendly with lots of natural light. Living room area with writing desk, lounges and coffee table near window. Large flat screen TV and storage areas. Kitchen-dining area with 4-seated dining table, kitchen with 2 gas burners, Smeg microwave/oven, fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee plunger, etc. Odd numbers of crockery etc. - seems mainly setup for 2 guests but enough plates and cutlery for 3 or 4 people.

Bathroom with tub/shower combo, plenty of bench space around and behind sink, 2 large towels, 2 washers and bathmat. Washing machine. Extra storage space with cupboard just inside main doorway of apartment. On first day there was shampoo, conditioners, and only a meagre small soap but no body wash (body wash was provided on other days). I know you can phone reception for these types of things but should not have to.

Bedroom with comfortable large bed with good linen, 4 large pillows, bedside tables, wall mounted flat screen TV, plenty of storage space, room safe, ironing board & iron. No slippers or gowns.

There is no regular housekeeping on Sundays and public holidays, however on this long weekend the hotel did service the apartment on the Sunday. The apartment windows were not very soundproof and you could hear traffic noise from below, but this did not bother me that much. The air con control on the wall near the entrance did not seem to work properly. The room got cold and I could not make adjustments following the written instructions. After numerous attempts I just turned it off. Hotel has a spa and gym area but no swimming pool.

Overall pleasant stay in a good sized, nice apartment conveniently located in the heart of the city.

We had the privilege of staying at Somerset on Elizabeth in June 2023 for a 2-week winter vacation. We highly recommend this hotel for their excellent customer service and staff as well as proximity to public transportation, tourist attractions and restaurants.
The rooms are spacious and housekeeping is excellent!
Being in the CBD really helped that we were walking distance within everything we wish to discover on our first trip to Melbourne!
I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to the following staff of the Somerset on Elizabeth who made our stay really comfortable and attended to our requests for special arrangements with our rooms over the extended period of our stay.
Thank you very much Mr Dom, Foteni, Kevin, Nilesh, Noemi and Tenzing!
It was indeed a pleasure knowing all of you, the real jewels at Somerset!
We hope to see you again at our next visit to Melbourne soon.
Thank you for the wonderful memories!
Best regards,
Lina xoxo

Extremely overdue for a refresh. Stained carpets, temperamental air-conditioning, mouldy shower recess (attended to upon complaint).
Good location, but very high traffic and pedestrian area, making sleep difficult for those sensitive to noise as there are no noise reduction methods in place.
I booked 2 rooms through a Luxury Escapes deal, so thankfully didn't pay too much for 3 nights accommodation. I have let LE know they should not be advertising this accommodation, as it is very, very far from luxury!

Friendly staff, room ok, but booked for 2 Adults 4 Kids, only supplied bedding for 5 which included the fold out couch [no sheets] and fold away single bed. Only 3 towels, not enough cutlery for 6. Only 4 tiny bags of coffee and sugar. Just disappointing that you have to ring for these things, especially at $550 for one night in a 2 bedroom. Showers badly in need of deep clean, plus mouldy silicon.

The Good : Great location.
The Not So Good : Tired, dated, unclean rooms. Just overall disappointing. Staff seem semi interested. Rooms only cleaned if you ask..
No on site Parking, & to get to the parking it is a back track around the block that takes 20 minutes.
