Arrived early so decided to see if we could drop bags off and check in later - reception was unattended so rang the number listed to call and waited for a return call - we are still waiting for that return call over 3 days later! When we did check in the guy at reception was efficient and friendly and explained the after hours entrance. The lift was new looking and working well - unlike the other 2 lifts that were signed as not in use! The corridor was old and worn out. The room was smaller than it looked on the photos (family room with queen bed and 2 single beds). There was a funny old smoke smell in the bathroom which appeared to have been cleaned, but in need of an update and a deep clean once in a while. The window to the room overlooked the worksite of the metro tunnel works, where they do seem to work most of the night and from early in the morning. Which would not have been so bad if the window was able to be closed better and could have stopped some of the noise. The beds were comfortable enough to sleep on and clean. Air-co kept the room cooler, however was on the noisy side, which as a plus did block out some of the construction noise!! This hotel is in a great position, close to Flinders Street Station, Federation Square and everything else in the CBD. So in summary, if you want a hotel in the middle of the city and do not need all the luxuries but just a place to sleep then this may just be it. If you are looking for luxury then this is not your hotel.

Unpretentious but very adequate for a short stay in the city. The room was a reasonable size with ensuite, frig, microwave and tea making facilities. The linen was spotlessly clean and luggage storage is available.

I stayed in a single room for 3 nights after Christmas 2021 and while the room was quite small, it was still very comfortable and perfectly adequate for me and my needs. You may want to bring your earplugs as it was a little noisy but then, you're in the very heart of Melbourne's CBD so ....! And if you love trams as much as me, you won't mind waking up to their 'ding ding' noises :) And I can almost guarantee you won't find a place as cheap as this so central to the CBD. I'd be happy to stay at this place next year.

We booked this Motel for 23-27 September 2023, through Hotels.com. We realised we would be arriving late when the Reception was closed, so we messaged the Motel through Hotels.com. We received an email from the Motel. This gave us a number for the Front Door Access Keypad and another for the Safe containing a key to our room.
When we arrived, we gained access through the Front Door, but when we tried the Key Safe the number would not work so we could not gain access for the Room Key.
We then had to spend most of the night in the Motel's Scruffy Dirty Lobby. A couple came in and said exactly the same happened to them, but had been given a correct Number. This allowed us to gain access to our room key. The Room was much scruffier than the pictures given by Hotels.com and the Bathroom was filthy.
We were awoken shortly at about 6.00 am by an horrendous noise. It sounded like a Jack Hammer and other banging on the other side of the Room Wall.
We complained to the Reception next morning but they were not interested in our late access but they changed our room. This was no better.
We have since complained to Hotels.com twice, but they said they could not get us any refund.

The rooms were not as pictured, milk in the fridge was congealed, no service at all. Mould in the showers. On second visit I was put in a room that was so dirty and the shower was one of the worst I have ever seen. Called to complain and was told they were fully booked so stiff bickies 😡

Convenient location in the heart of things. Comfy room with everything we needed. The duty manager was friendly and helpful. It was difficult to find and no parking nearby for check in. Maybe some info about where you park ( Wilson’s Parking Flinders Street) would be helpful to know in booking confirmation email. We would also request a room that didn’t have Monohans Lane outside it, as they muck around with bins there late at night. Our room needed a few things fixed such as light was hanging from wire in bathroom and towel rail had been broken off at some point and not replaced so nowhere to hang towel. Also no exhaust fan in bathroom. But location wise it was convenient and a comfy enough basic room that was clean. Suited our purpose.

The good, the bad, and the ugly. The ugly. We stayed on the second floor with a laneway directly behind our room. Very regularly, every night, there was a loud sound of compressed air escaping from a vessel of some sort which reverberated in the confined space between buildings. It was loud enough to wake you up if you weren’t in a deep sleep. You could hear it over the TV and other background noise. The time interval between the compressed air escaping was about the time it took us to ALMOST get to sleep. By the third night we were sick of the lack of sleep and went to a chemist to buy earplugs. Although they helped, they didn’t block all the noise from the compressed air. But we were SO tired by then we finally got to sleep. The bad. The bed wasn’t too bad, but the pillows were just about ready to put outside for the dog to sleep on. One had a bit of ‘body’ left in it, the other was completely deflated. Had to fold in half to get my head up high enough to keep my neck from aching. (At least the pain in my neck distracted me from the air compressor noise!) The rooms aren’t serviced. The room smelt a bit ‘enclosed’. Like the wardrobe smell you get in a cupboard you haven’t opened for a long while. Carpets could have done with a steam and perfume? It wasn’t bad enough to cause concern though. Just an indication of the level of service. Bathroom mouldy. The good. The motel was very central, which was very handy. Trams practicality on every corner. 720 restaurants/bars/cafes within 500m radius of motel. The one staff member we met was very nice and friendly. There was plenty of steaming hot water in the shower.

The room was not what they show as it was the worse hotel i have ever stayed in, I would recommend no one to stay there as was really bad. I have put photos up showing what the room really looks like bad and not suitable for a motel in the middle of Melbourne. Need the health department to go in a shut the place down There was mold behind the curtain

While the location is good - nice and central the room is ok but not worth the price tag. The room is very noisy and stuffy. The chairs were covered with a fabric elastic cover to hide the ripped seat underneath. I had a bedside lamp and clock but no where to plug them in! 🤷🏼♀️ the power point was above my head but no where to place the phone while it charged. Only glasses to drink out of were kids glasses. The room could do with a makeover, tired.

They only service the room each 2 days, the cleaning is atrocious. Behind the sofa and bed are very dirty and have not been cleaned in months. The windows are so dirty they look like frosted glass. The taps leak from behind the wall. The vanity is rotting.

There is a free hotel shuttle service that operates from 8am - 9pm.
Get off at Town Hall and we are across the road and 1 shop down from Westpac next to the Happy Lemon.
A tram runs from outside the terminal to about 3 blocks from the motel. I can't recall the tram number or the exact stop closest to the motel, but I just asked around at the tram stop. As both the terminal and the motel are within the designated city center, tram rides are free.
There are more places to choose from in the Melbourne area.
