If you’re looking for a pleasant, reasonably priced hotel in Melbourne CBD, this is a decent option.

Rooms seem to have been recently refurbished so everything is new. Room size (King Deluxe) is adequate and certainly doesn’t make you feel like you’re in a prison cell. I asked for a high floor room and the one I got on the 8th floor had a pleasant outlook over Victoria Market and beyond. It was also at the back of the building so very quiet.

A range of complimentary teas and two small bottles of water are welcome touches.

Reception staff are friendly and generally efficient.

There is a restaurant but for some curious reason it’s not open on weekends. That also means no room service on weekends. It seems slightly bizarre given, one assumes, hotel occupancy rates are highest , (and the restaurant would therefore do most business) on weekends.

In any event, lots of cheap and cheerful Asian restaurants nearby serving up some tasty food.

If you want somewhere pleasant and reasonably well located to lay your head, at a modest price, this is a very respectable option.

Thanks for sharing rossd300. It's great that your overall experience was so positive and you enjoyed your time in Melbourne. We appreciate the positive comments about the room and appointments as well as our staff. The bar is open on the weekends with a bar snack menu, unfortunately, the restaurant is not open. We find that guests seek out our recommendations for local cuisines and hot spots which we are more than happy to assist with. We hope to be able to welcome you back sometime soon and host you for a meal too. Thanks again for taking the time to post your review. Sincerely Andrew F Front Office Manager

Was a bit put off by location at first, lots of fast food, inexpensive shops but then realized Melbourne is a vey walkable City! And Viictoria Market right there once realized it closes early and went for Breakfast, then bought whatber else, like an assortment of 4 Aissie cheese for $10 and dropped off at room.
Front desk very friendly but when didn't seem familiar with Tennis area, Arhur Ashe, I didn't ask too amny other questions!
Also maid servie declined over weekend...fresh towels left in pile on not very well amde bed, old ones left when left in shwer as instructed , including maton floor, and used glasses left.
But otherwise clean, first and last maid perfect, was on 8 so little street noise except construction pit next to QVM.

HI geordy, Thanks for sharing your recent experience. Our city is wonderful like that - easy to walk here and there and some wonderful, cheap local produce. The Queen Victoria Market is certainly a wonderful attraction and experience to have that right on our door step! Its disappointing to learn that of your dissatisfaction and any lapse in our housekeeping service. We will be sure to raise this with our Executive Manager and improve upon this. thanks again for sharing. Andrew F Front Office Manager

We were very pleased with the service and the staff were very helpful and knowledgable. All in all I cannot find anything I was displeased with the rooms were kept very clean and the staff were always ready to share a joke and have a bit of banter they asked who the best member of staff was on the leaving note but to me every one were first class. Can’t wait to go again and I definitely will

Very clean friendly hotel, arrived a little early but was quickly checked in with no problems at all, the staff were so friendly and really went out of their way to help ,
The room was very modern and clean with a nice comfortable bed, and had a very clean fresh smell to the whole building, the queen vic markets are just around the corner and plenty of restaurants are just outside the door .
The in-house dining was spectacular with great fresh food and excellent staff , a well stocked welcoming bar and nice fresh decor, there is a tram almost right outside that can take you anywhere in Melbourne you want to go , only 2 tram stops to Bourke st mall, if you need a nice clean hotel that is close to everything and is very good value for money I highly recommend the Jasper boutique hotel. Thanks guys for the stay will definitely be back

My wife and I had a fantastic weekend at this hotel. Staff were very friendly and provided great service. The breakfast options provided were amazing. This is a fairly modern hotel with rooms tastefully decorated and very clean. We had a package deal which included a bottle of wine on arrival, breakfast and late checkout, and we could not be happier with the deal. The added bonus for us was the location of this hotel, being close to Melbourne Central, the Queen Victoria Market and is within the free tram zone.

This is in the perfect spot for visitors to Melbourne. Close to the free central tram system and the iconic Queen Victorua Market. The staff are generally very helpful and accommodating. We arrived from a long haul flight and no early check in was available. There is really no lounge area to rest in. The staff did their best to check people in as soon as rooms had been serviced. The hotel boast a courtyard but it's only for selective suites so no outdoor space. The rooms are trendy, clean, well serviced but small for two people if staying like us for 7 nights, with not much hanging or cupboard space. Ideal for short stay.

Hi maureenn678, thanks so much for taking the time to review your recent stay. It's great to see that your experience was so positive overall. We certainly try to facilitate early check-ins where possible, its wonderful to see that our staff were able to assist with this. The courtyard is certainly a great attraction for the hotel and is available for all our guests, not just those who book a room with access or a view. We're glad you enjoyed the room and will be sure to take on board the feedback about the storage space - we have luggage racks available and additional coat hangers too. Thanks again maureenn678. We hope to be able to welcome you back again to the Jasper Hotel. Sincerely, The Jasper Team

I have probably booked over 10+ rooms in the past 4 months and the service, the rooms, the food , are just brilliant , hence why I just keep coming back. The hotel is almost new and fresh, the rooms are very quite indeed , so much that I have a tendency to sleep in all the time compared to my own home.
The free tram service takes you straight down to Flinders Street and Vic Market is a few metres away, the location is definitely ideal.
The manager Renee is such a pleasure to deal with and I was there 2 days ago and will be returning back next month ! Keep up the good work all. See you next month.

Booked this hotel for8 of us friends travelling to Melbourne for 4 nights to do some sightseeing. We booked 4 Premium Courtyard View rooms. Upon arrival it took an hour to check in.
The staff said they were struggling with a new computer system and they only had one person serving.

Unfortunately they downgraded us to King Rooms which were very noisy. They wouldnt listen when we showed them our booking paperwork from a booking agent and were'nt interested in sorting out the problem.

We were told we had to pay in full with 100.00 extra which will be refunded upon leaving. They charged 200.00 extra for others in our group.

The next day upon checking bank accounts 2 of our group had been charged double. Upon approaching reception every day they could not figure out what happened and said they would tell the manager. Every time waiting at reception other people are complaining as well.

Eventually our refunds were returned. The location is good but just disappointed how things went and the disinterest the staff showed to customers with not even a greeting or looking up from computers to acknowledge us. No interest in giving us city maps or information.

We spent 2 nights in this very comfortable hotel, well located next to the Queen Victoria markets and an easy walk into the main shopping areas of the CBD. The breakfast was good, the room clean and spacious and the bed very comfortable. This made it excellent value for this location and level of comfort in Melbourne.

The Jasper Hotel is a boutique hotel a stone's throw away from the Queen Vic market and short walking distance to the CBD. We stayed here for 3 nights in a king room. Room was fantastic as had recently been refurbished - clean, modern with such a cosy, comfy king size bed. From the moment we checked in to the time we checked out everything was faultless. At check in friendly and warming customer service. Breakfast was such a surprise, a la carte with plenty to choose from and on all mornings food was delicious and again staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed it so much here that we have booked again in April. The bigger chains should take a note of the Jasper Hotel and how they make your stay personable and welcoming.

I would suggest getting a room on the second floor. This opens to an atrium with greenery. On the other floors, there are balconies. We had the door open for much of the stay

We do not have a car park here at the hotel, but offer guests a 25% discount voucher to CBDPARK located at 58 Franklin street, about 150m away. We do not quote rates as it varies depending on when you put your car in and take it out, however you can go to CBPPARK website to look further into rates. Also it may be convenient for you to let you know we are now located in the free tram zone of the CBD so it is very easy to get around, front office can help you should you need assistance with tram numbers or locations.

The rooms are all small yet practical and convenient. It’s a boutique hotel nothing fancy but I feel it’s good for the price and very central to everything. Staff are lovely too 😉
