This hotel is advertised on booking.com and other websites as a 4 star hotel but it isn't. It is more like a 3 star hotel.
Let me start with the positives; You won't be able to beat the location of this hotel. It is right in the centre of the city with everything within a short walking distance; restaurants, cafes, bars, theatres, shops, attractions, transport and sporting venues.
The apartment we stayed in was very spacious with a big lounge area as well as a big dressing/walk in rove area apart from a good size kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. You will have all the facilities you need in all these rooms and the staff is also very helpful with good hints for attractions nearby and transport arrangements.
However, the hotel is really dated, with old carpets with stains and worn out areas. The curtains in the apartment are dirty and have mould residues from recent rains. The whole place could do with a thorough clean and a fresh coat of paint. The furniture is also dated.
The prices were too high for that level of accomodation although during the australian open, all hotels in melbourne are overpriced.

Booked 1 night while having renovations done. Easy to book thru a booking tool and excellent rate. Communication from the hotel was excellent ... detailed and very responsive to questions. Reception was unattended but the coded key safe was easy (as long as you read your instructions!). Discounted carparking at Flinders Gate in Flinders Lane ($17 v $85 but you need to get the voucher from Reception - a tip: there are vouchers on Reception if unattended) was a quick walk away (cut thru the Westin driveway.). Location is opposite the Regent Theatre. The end of Swanston St is a bit disrupted due to tunnel works (so turn right on Swanston if you are looking for shops etc) but no noise or anything. Room was spotless and had what you need for a short or long stay (kitchen, fridge/freezer, stove, dishwasher). Bed was firm but not uncomfortable for me. Highly recommend for your next city experience.

Location was great. Staff were amazing and so nice and knowledgeable. Price was fair. Layout of room was nice and open.
Amenities were good and the supplied toiletries smelt amazing.

Disliked · Cleaners need to look up when cleaning, the tiles up the top of the bathroom were thick with dust. Pillows were hard and I woke up with a sore neck.
The tiles/floor moved under foot in the shower, felt like they could give way at any time. VERY unsafe.
We checked out at 930am and there was no one at reception, we put key in the drop box. But upon checking in was told we could get our parking validated upon checking out. However there was no one at reception to do this. Or let them know about the safety hazard (floor). So we had to pay $38 for parking... Was not impressed with that.

Contacted hotel with no response.

This place has the potential of being really good, however the cleanliness and the need for a makeover is well overdue.
On entry into the lobby (if you can call it that) is nearly smaller than a toilet cubicle - very cramped. The checkin process is fairly easy but has very redundant room keys. To get to the elevator, you just shuffle a quarter of a step to the right, which makes it very awkward for people checking in behind you, as you are waiting for the elevator right in front of reception.

A sign above the elevator states it is the slowest elevator in Australia - they are not wrong!!! Funny at first, but then becomes very annoying on subsequent trips. It is faster to walk up/down 6 flights of steps than use that terrible thing.

The carpets throughout the hotel, including the rooms need to be ripped up and replaced. The hallways and doors throughout are damaged and in need of repair. The room had a very musty smell and seriously smells worse than under the Queen Street Bridge (for those from out of town, a place where homeless frequent).

The sofa was really uncomfortable, the kitchenette just felt too far used, and then the bathroom - OMG let’s not go there! Both my wife & I pretty much stayed at the same time “I’m not going to shower in there!!!!”. And that we didn’t. Luckily we were only staying one night, and certainly looked forward to getting home into a nice hot shower.

The only thing that seemed clean were the pillows and sheets. Even the blanket at the foot of the bed was dirty with an iron burn mark on it. The bedroom just seemed so disorganised with bedside tables blocking opening one of the built in wardrobes.

I generally don’t find myself fussy, as I can sometimes spend up to 50 nights per year in hotels around the country and internationally. Everything from 2 Star to 5 Star hotels. This was honestly the second worst place I have stayed in. A hotel in North Dakota still leads with worst hotel in my books.

Good Location to shops, tram & right next to the theatre shows. Hotel hallway/carpet on way to room is dated/ bit dull & needs a revamp. Room itself is spacious, comfy, very handy having a small kitchenette with microwave. Overall reasonable price, cant complain.

I stayed here with my husband in a 1 bedroom apartment in December. The apartments are in a heritage building located opposite the Regent Theatre in Collins St. The low-key entrance is tucked away between a lovely restaurant, Bistrot D'Orsay, and Rutherford jewellery. Check in was easy, safe and secure.
Everything is a short walk from here. The Town Hall, Regent Theatre, Flinders lane with all it's famous graffiti laneways, bars and restaurants and all the high end designer shops are at your doorstep. The National Gallery and Arts Centre, Yarra River Southbank precinct, , Botanic Gardens, Parliament house, Theatres, Bourke Street Mall and Chinatown are all less than 15 mins walk.
Our spotlessly clean room was tastefully decorated and freshly painted and carpeted. The bedroom had plenty of wardrobe space, a very comfortable mattress and good pillows and linen. The sitting area was spacious and had a very well equipped kitchenette and was a pleasant area to sit, especially as we could open the windows for some fresh air. The bathroom was spacious with plenty of warm water. Noise did not seem to be a problem at all.
We will definitely stay here again for another affordable Melbourne city adventure.

Wonderful hidden gem of accommodation! Right in the CBD, literally minutes walk from bars, restaurants, theatres, shopping, everything right at your finger tips! The room was clean and very well appointed with wonderful block out blinds for a sleep in after a big night out. Staff were super friendly and the complex itself felt so safe and secure, perfectly tucked away between neighbouring buildings.
100% will stay again!

I choose like hotel, like many, on price. And if you only need somewhere to sleep, it’s fine. It’s certainly not a relaxing hotel. I could hear the street noise when in my room. I was happy to get going each morning. The hotel however is very clean and functional. Bit if you are looking for a more relaxing break and have a bit more coming to spend, you may wish to look at alternatives.

Rooms do not look like photos. Tired and dirty. Black mood in bathroom, missing grout, saggy mattress. Would not recommend staying here at over two hundred dollars a night, it is not good value for money. Location is good but there are much better

This depends on the room type. If you book a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment then the bedrooms are separate. A studio apartment will be open plan no separate bedroom. I recommend the 1 or 2 bedroom apartments it is much more comfortable.

While we did not drive to Melbourne, I do not think the premises have parking. They may have some on another site, but just ask them by email or give them a call.
