The hotel is in a very good location walking distance to the hospital which was the reason for our stay. The room was 2 bed apartment for which we paid top rate as the Formula 1 was on that week later to be cancelled. The rooms are in need of regular maintenance the shower taps were almost impossible to regulate and had to shower under a dribble of water that was either hot or cold. The bath was extremely deep and had bad water staining. The kitchen area was not well equipped with knives for chopping and slicing. The fridge was out of level which meant everything almost fell out when you tried to open the door. The window winder fell off when trying to open the window. Fold out couch/ bed needed new springs luckily we didn’t need to use it for sleeping .

Location to Theatre, restaurants and transport is fantastic. We had a 2 bedroom apartment - the accommodation needs serious maintenance and renovation. The overall feel is very tired, not particularly clean either. Expected much more for the price paid.

We stayed at Quest on Lonsdale mainly due to its great location so close to the Princess Theatre. After each night of seeing the Harry Potter stage production it was great to have just a two minute stroll to our accommodation.
Our two bedroom suite was quite compact as expected for the city centre, yet had everything we needed - enough of a kitchen to cook for ourselves when we weren't eating at the many restaurants close by, comfortable beds, laundry, etc. Parking is in a carpark a few doors down, which is not too much of a problem, but be aware it is an additional fee and was a tight fit for our CX-9.
A nice place to use as a base to get out and see Melbourne.

First car parking that we were led to believe was included ended up costing $70 for 2 nights but we had to wait for 20 minutes before the carpark would let us in electronically. there was no sanitizer at the lift yet had signs about covid up... First room we were given was dirty and no air-conditioning, we were transferred to another room, the 2 x chairs at the table were falling apart and if anyone had sat on them they would have broken, all surfaces on benches tables walls etc. needed to be wiped over, including what appeared to be a spill of a milk type substance which the phone was stuck to on the side table, there were spider webs between the curtain pelmet and ceiling - we found a bag of potatoes behind the toaster on a upper shelf, no hair dryer or iron and when i asked the big man at reception he virtually grunted and queried me if we had looked properly then he said he would organize, 20 minutes later he came to our room with an iron and just walked away without saying anything then a further 20 minutes he returned with a hair dryer that was so filthy my wife had to clean it, when we put the small bar of soap on the soap holder, the holder itself rolled over as it was just hanging onto the wall, the toilet seat was also just hanging on and dripping at the rear with hair on the floor surface and in the bath. when leaving there was no one at reception until the big man came out from behind the wall with a mouth full of food and covered his mouth and grunted something at us and waved us off, we gave him a list of everything i have mentioned in this review for him to take to whoever management is. we have stayed at Quest on Dorcas many times and always get a clean room with great service, we will never stay at quest on Lonsdale again. Absolutely no effort by this hotel and it showed, extremely poor & in my view negligent of the management to have this hotel in its current status.

This property is terrible! Should be 2 star and that’s being generous. Our apartment had dirty walls, stains on floor and furniture including what looked like blood stains on couch. Every room had holes in walls. Shower had holes in tiles and bathroom was dirty. Air con didn’t work. There was a mouse in the foyer while we were waiting for lift. Windows were dirty. I doubt their hygiene practices are anywhere near what they should be with COVID-19, yet according to Agoda they are taking extra measures. After complaining we were moved to another apartment for our second night and this one was cleaner with a working air con but still old, tired, grotty and generally terrible. This property should be either completely renovated or closed down. Without a doubt the worst property I have stayed at in Melbourne and one of the more expensive. Looking at previous reviews this has been an ongoing issue for a number of years so the franchisee clearly has no intention of taking any action to remedy the huge amount of issues with this terrible property and the staff just have to do the best with the lemon they have been given

Great place to stay when going to the theatre. Walking distance to many sites of the cbd of Melbourne. Only negative was the ac was noisy, but it also drowned out the noise of the city, so was a great location for country people

Unfortunately my employer booked the accommodation as I was travelling for business. The hotel rooms are out of date, I had mould on my ceiling, bed are old and uncomfortable (springs in your back), the hotel room information booklets you find in your room have out of date information (eg you can no longer order breakfast to your room or at the hotel), staff appeared untrained, and if you are lucky enough to stay on floor 1 you will be expressed to the city traffic noise and the bright lights reflecting in your room of a night time. Advice don't book here, and if you have to stay here because there are no other options, bring your own pillow.

Booked because it is a Quest on arrival friendly staff but grotty reception area, used lift which is in definite need of a proper clean, room clean enough but no cooking utensils, pillows were old and very flat, bed not that comfortable either, balconies would be nice but cannot be accessed and the one on my room had water leaking from somewhere so it looked like a wading pool. On the positive in a great position in city. Another negative rooms are so noisy from no double glass that sleeping requires noise cancelling headphones or cotton wool in your ears. Wi-Fi a little patchy at times. Really quite disappointed as Quest is known for its high standards and this Quest is not up to those standards.

Stayed one night in a one bedroom apartment and whilst it was very close to the venue we attended I would not recommend this hotel. This is due to the noise in the apartment with noisy air-conditioning and on the street outside. There were windows but no balcony. All of the windows looked down on another balcony so curtains and blind remained closed Then the bathroom was both tired and not maintained. The shower itself was quite filthy with mould on both the base and also tiles. We paid $239 for the night and to be frank expected much better for that price.

Is there car parking onsite?
Answer from Alysha84
3 contributions2 helpful votes
No. You park at a secure car park a little bit down from hotel. Be careful as my car got hit and no one left number etc and also if you need to access your car before 9am on a weekend you get charged $125 for an an out of hours call out fee. Better hotels, that are cheaper and have on site carparking nearby.
