Great little Hotel located in fantastic spot 5 minutes from the Market and a Tram Stop outside your front Door. We got a welcome as soon as we turned up to drop off our Cases early in the Morning before setting off on a Train Trip. Very cosy Room and the comfiest of Beds and surprisingly it was very quiet. The owners are very friendly and also very helpful with any queries you have. Will definitely stay here again on our next Trip to Victoria as the location is close for everything and there are quite a few Pubs, Eateries, Coffee Shops to keep you satisfied within a short walk.

Booked a Deluxe King, room was large, clean with a seperate bathroom and kitchenette, 65 TV, wi fi, an extremely comfortable bed and surprisingly quiet given that hotel is on the intersection of Clarendon and Yorks Sts

Location wise it it close to the south melbourne markets and numerous hotels/cafe/restaurants, the tram stop was across the road and the number 12 took you into the city

Qoi, the manager was customer service personified, from arranging to store our luggage on arrival and then placing them into the room, to notifying us when the room was ready to responding to any queries and on departure we met him near the entrance and he assisted by placed our bags in the Uber

Will definitely return on our next visit to Melbourne

We were a group of 9 on a Tuesday for lunch. On arrival the person in charge was very welcoming and we were all impressed with the atmosphere and decor of the recently renovated South Melbourne pub. Unfortunately it went downhill from there.
Firstly they urgently need to do something about the tap beer. Any of the beers we bought were totally flat - we are all from the catering/hospitality industry so we questioned whether it was lack of gas, poor glass washing or poor beer line cleaning. The barman did not seem to understand what we were talking about when we pointed this out to him.
The table service was quite attentive, very pleasant staff. Our entrees were the best part of the meal. Apart from one person we all chose the set price 2 course lunch which for main course comprised a choice of wagu steak, confit of duck or barramundi . All our meals were overcooked.
We chose an Adelaide Hills chardonnay as our white - we all agreed it was terrible. At least the Heathcote shiraz was good.
We just felt that attention to detail was missing - it is hard to understand what they are trying to achieve or how they want to be identified in terms of food - is it Indian, Malaysian or is it Western??
There are many other pubs in the vicinity - sorry we will not be back

Great location near trendy pubs, restaurants, market. Excellent bed with fluffy doona not tucked in tight around feet! Good pillows - good mattress. Super clean, big tv, beautiful bathroom. Quaint old pub look on the outside with super modern renovated inside... my perfect mix!! City view. Good service at check in. Stokers pancakes a few doors down for breakfast or late night pancakes very nice.

The Clarendon Hotel is a short walk down Clarendon Road from the casino, and located centrally in South Melbourne. The hotel includes an outstanding bar and restaurant, and a rooftop bar with views of Melbourne's city skyline. The Clarendon's accommodation is superb, with 6 rooms per floor, with several being at least the size of a small apartment. High ceilings and thick walls provide you a sense of space and quiet, with a range of quality amenities including a lounge area, separate bathroom, free WiFi and a smart TV. Access to the accommodation is either through the downstairs where a reception area is located, or separate rear access off York St.
My business visits to Melbourne over the last few years have been characterised by the staff at The Clarendon treating their guests like family. I highly recommend The Clarendon to all considering a change from the corporate hotel chains. Grab a seat out the front, a cold beer and just relax as The Clarendon team work their magic to make your time there a memorable one. 5 stars!

The rooms here are larger than normal with little table and sink in separate area from bedroom. Brand new bathrooms with large shower, The beds are massive with luxurious doona . Air con , tv and free water add to the nice night.
The rooms are so quiet to, with good access to the city and crown , this is a great spot to stay.

I booked this hotel on line because I wanted something close to the Arts Center and the South Melbourne Market.
The welcome we received was warm and genuine. Parking was fairly easy, and the room was perfectly clean, bright and comfortable.
Close to public transport, and surrounded by wonderful restaurants (particularly the one downstairs), this was the perfect location
It will be our first choice on every other visit we make to Melbourne.
