We booked this last minute winter getaway with a 'stay 4 nights pay for 3' deal to celebrate our 6 month anniversary/honeymoon, and it has been amazing. We are already planning our trip back! We booked the trip to escape the Melbourne winter, but unfortunately it has been raining for most of the time we have been here. However, we haven’t even been bothered by the weather - it is just lovely to be here.

The staff here have all been SO wonderful - special thanks to Marta, Bentleigh and Stewart. Everyone we have spoken with has appeared very happy and nothing was a fuss. We received Charles Heidsieck champagne on arrival and we were given all the options for dining, activities and shown how to use the buggy - which comes with the room.

Food/drinks: The breakfast is included in the nightly rate, and has been one of the best breakfasts we've ever had. The beautiful staff encourage you to multiple things off the menu with the option to order half servings. We routinely ordered coffees to the room in the morning (no extra charge which was a nice surprise), and then walked to the long pavilion/ main restaurant for breakfast with the most stunning view. You also have the option to eat in your own room/pavilion at no extra cost.

Activities: Although it has rained most of the time we have been here, we took advantage of the complimentary activity of a beach picnic. This is where staff will take you on a boat and drop you off to a private beach on one of the nearby islands. We ordered lunch the night before to have on the picnic at a very reasonable price of $55pp and it was fantastic. When we arrived on the beach, the staff had already set up deck chairs, umbrellas, complimentary non-alcoholic drinks (can pre-order alcohol if you wish) and an esky with our lunch.
There is a fitness centre/gym which is small but with high quality equipment, treadmills, dumbbells, benches, waters, towels, showers etc. If you want a larger gym you have access to the islands main gym which is about a 5-10 min buggy ride too.
The pool is stunning. We used it while it was raining, as the water was warmer than the outside temperature.
You can also order food and drinks via QR codes poolside.

Room: We stayed in the Leeward Pavillions (the rooms without the pool) and were so happy. We stayed in #52 - highly recommend as this has full views of the ocean and feels very private. As it was raining we spent a lot of time in here just relaxing and listening to music via the inbuilt bluetooth speakers - no complaints. All non-alcoholics drinks are included, and we ordered dinner to the room one night which was great. Rooms are serviced morning and night, with a turn down service.

We will be back :) thank you so much!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 night stay at Qualia. The pavilions are comfortable, the turn down service with beautiful tea, chocolates, and lovely smelling diffuser add to the luxury feeling. The resort is all about the stunning location and seeing beautiful bird life, kangaroos and possums looking out to the beautiful Whitsundays location. The pool area is awesome with lovely beds around the pool and excellent pool service from the willing and helpful staff.
The downside which lost the excellent rating was that every morning one had to repeat one’s name and room number rather than feeling of being a valued guest who is known and recognized by staff.
The dinner menu never changed and was quite limited especially for those who may not eat certain items. The pastry and bread chef is outstanding.
The staff is mostly international who are traveling through australia and are trying their best but it’s apparent they have only been in their specific job a short time
The stand out staff were actually staff both from QLD being Kasey and Zac. Their hospitality skills are fantastic!
Any trips booked by the hotel are very expensive compared to prices at the marina.
We had a great time but did feel in terms of service and food choices it did fall short of other resorts of similar quality and style in Asia.
Check in is faultless - being the pick up from the airport and having a buggy at one’s disposal was great fun.

qualia is undoubtedly the best resort on Hamilton island. It’s positioning and seclusion make it an ideal escape for those looking to restore and rejuvenate before heading back to busy lives This was our first trip to qualia for our 10th wedding anniversary We travel to Hayman island annually with the kids but had the opportunity to get away without children for this occasion. We spent 3 nights in a leeward pavilion The pavilion was serene nestled amongst the trees with views of the ocean and included everything you’d require for a stay. The bathrooms are a standout. Staff greet you upon arrival with champagne or a non alcoholic option if preferred and confirm your itinerary for the upcoming stay before showing you to your room. Every member of staff is professional and courteous and they genuinely look like they enjoy what they do which is always a good sign. We ate at both restaurants on site and they were exceptional, pebble beach six course tasting menu was amazing and a must do if you stay at qualia. We also organised a beach picnic on a private beach with food and drinks which was an amazing experience.
All the staff are attentive. They always know who has ordered what and nothing is ever too much trouble. Special shout outs to Stewart at long pavilion for making our breakfast experiences fun and Daniel from
Beach activities who drove us over to our private picnic. Rachael who escorted us to Bommie also always had a great disposition.
Throughout our stay we had cause to encounter both the General Manager Scott, and Aron the executive assistant manager and both are very decent lovely humans who ensure guests feedback is heard and acknowledged.
We will definitely return to qualia

When you’re paying these kind of prices, you expect perfection, but it is far from that. The hotel is pitched as 5 star and sure, the resort is big with the kind of facilities you would expect, including spacious rooms, private pools, good food and buggies to travel around in etc. The rooms however are very early 2000s and actually quite basic. Worst of all though is the service. It seems that most staff are not hotelier-trained (as you would expect of such a place) but rather, European travellers - almost none of whom have been there for more than 6 months. Most try their best but we found them to be overwhelmed almost all of the time. 5 times we had to wait more than 4 minutes for room service to answer the phone, once just being cut off, another time, no answer at all. Cleaning was sub par, with dirty cups left on the side and items in the fridge not replaced. Waiters taking our food orders forgot things or failed to ask about drinks unless prompted. And it took half an hour to get served a cocktail. All I can think about is how much this stay cost. Very disappointing.

Whilst Qualia claims to be six star we found the service aspect very poor. The waiting staff were are full of hi how are and pseudo interest in you that they forgot their real job of waiting the table. Dinner service took several hours in the Long Pavilion restaurant and often no member of staff was anywhere to be seen. Breakfast took over an hour on our check out morning, other guests that came later were severed and we kept getting missed. When we did get some sort of service the wrong juices were bought just how hard is it to get a two juice order right! Just about everything we had to chase up from our in room bill being wrong and not corrected to the transport back from marina we booked which didn’t show until, we managed to find a phone number for Qualia and chase it up. We had our reservation cancelled at Pebble beach restaurant because of a function. I made this booking three months prior to our stay and Qualia had every opportunity to email me to tell me rather than wait until I arrived. Again I find this from a high end resort pretty poor. That night we dined in our room which was nice and as we had a dedicated waitress the service was good so it can be done. The next day we came back from our day out to find the dirty plates with what was left of the food scraps still piled outside of our room. I will give credit where it is due and the food ( when it eventually arrived) was very good. As other guests have said the rooms are large but not really luxury. We also weren’t told on check in the keep the doors to the room closed as the Cockatoos would come in and steal biscuits from the mini bar. It wasn’t a terrible stay here but not what you would expect for the cost. The service needs to be much improved. One other point is Qualia charged us a fee to use our debit card to pay our bill ( cash isn't accepted ) as we understood the charge should have only applied to credit cards. No where else in Australia charged us to use our debit card. I don’t understand this as surely Qualia makes enough money….

The area is of course beautiful. The rooms are OK, but certainly not ultra luxurious. The food quality is great, but don't get room service or it is served cold, an all at once.

You have to ask multiple times to get anything even the room cleaned, and then the result is sub par.

Sadly the service is about the worst I have ever experienced in any resort or Hotel I have stayed in, and I have over 30 years experience in travel. I do not believe I am overly fussy nor a demanding person, but this is a joke, a VERY expensive joke.

The staff are kids who are obviously back-packers who have little training and even less interest in the job as it is a temporary gig. I understand the problem getting high end professional staff for a remote location, but then don't pretend to be a 5 Star resort.

If you want to check out Hamilton Island, and it is worth doing, try the lowest cost option and you will be happy because at least then you wont be paying for something you are not getting.

Okay so the beach house is a bit costly but it’s secluded, in the most picturesque setting imaginable. large pool, huge dining room and main bedroom. Outside shower, and separate bedroom down some steps. Truly a lovely location. Staff can’t do enough for you, including contacting restaurants to rebook meals, ferry you around or simply book anything you wish o do.

Helicopter to the heart of the reef was very special, snorkelling the reef was also fun

Wow… where do I start? My wife and I stayed at Qualia for 4 nights in a Windward Pavilion between 31/10 to 4/12. From the moment you step off the plane and go to the resort desk at the airport, the service is exceptional, they collect your bags as you get whisked in to van and driven to the resort where you are met with a glass of champagne as you check-in. We arrival just before our room was ready, so we sat and took in the view whilst our glasses where continually refilled with champagne (aka Qualia water). Once the room is ready, they give you the key to your personal golf buggy and they lead to you to your pavilion.

The second we opened the door, the view is breath taking… the room is a beautiful environment to be in and it feels like your in your own little bubble away from the world. The mini fridge is stocked and all the non-alcoholic drinks are included in the room fee and are refilled every day. You will also discover that you bags from the plane are waiting for you in your room upon arrival.

We had breakfast every day at the resort, which is included in the room rate and can be had at the long pavilion or in your room (at no extra cost) the quality of the food is top level and the service was great. Same can be said about dinner from the long pavilion we had for my wife’s birthday.

We had a couple of tours that had to be cancelled due to the weather (extreme winds), they communicated and handled this very professionally and helped to make the best of the situation where possible.

The resort is an adults only resort (16+) which I didn’t expect that I would enjoy this aspect some much. It makes the whole resort area such a nice and quiet place to be, even the main resort pool was the most calmiest pool I have ever been at, add in that only guest of the resort can enter the grounds adds to this calmness and Qualia should be applauded for having this approach to the resort.

The privacy, the service, the resort amenities, the views and the staff make this resort one of the best. Yes its an expensive resort, but the service and hard product provided meets the price. If you get the chance to stay here, do it!

This is a 5 star (?6) gated resort. We stayed in on of the Leeward Pavilions which was beautifully equiped, clean and great views over to Dent Island. The service could not be faulted and you only had to ask for something for it to appear. From the breakfast service (a'la Carte) to the Degustation dinner, it was great food and service with a smile and our sommelier at the dinner was excellent and very nowledgeable. One minor complaint was, we felt, the need for simple food for during the day - ie a sandwich and cakes with the coffee - but that is a personal wish. Overall we were so happy that we have booked already for next year.

Swooping in on winter pricing, exacerbated by NSW/Vic lockdowns, we got Windward rooms at a small discount. Given the huge tariff, I keep getting asked “was it worth it?” In short, the Windward villa is beautiful with separate lounge and heated pool (Leewards are more a studio with no pool), kept in very clean state. While in Bali, labour is plentiful, to achieve similar in Oz is what you’re paying for. The other thing is that all facilities are in very good state and golf buggy is included. No kids is good if you’re chasing a getaway: feels totally different in the main Hamilton resort.

Long Pavilion food standard isn’t amazing, but Pebble Beach was great. Remember to book other Hammo restaurants and tours ASAP when booking. Qualia concierge was very helpful in doing so when I rang. Exclusive qualia boat to Whitehaven was enjoyable and champagne included with a bento lunch. The Hamilton Sports club gym is much better than qualias, and both Spas are equally good.

Overall, interested and interactive staff, with glorious weather made for a wonderful few days.

We did this a few days ago. They pick you up at water sports (on property) and take you a short ride away 10 minutes) to a lovely beach. I thought 2 hours may be too much but it was just perfect. Highly recommend it.
