Had a wonderful Time at the apartment. Very big and comfortable. The check in was easy. Steve was very warm. The location is very convenient. 15 min to the centre of Surfer’s paradise mall and 100 meters to the beach. The views from the room are just fantastic. One parking is provided. We had 2 cars. The other car can be easily parked on the street which has a 3p parking from 9-5 pm. Highly recommend. The memorable trip had a great contribution from this lovely apt and views.

We recently stayed 9 nights there. The managers couldn't have been more helpful. Apartments were very spacious and clean. This is the 3rd apartment we have had in the area over the last 3 years and this is the only one that we are very happy to return to next year. One point when booking - ask for one with a separate balcony. I can definitely recommend the units and if you play bridge, the Gold Coast Bridge Club is just a short walk away.

The place has potential if it werent for the beligerent management.

We were billed for pre-existing damage to the carpet which had alledgedly just been 'cleaned'
and all our appeals to the manager met with brick wall stubborness.

The manager accosted us the first night (after we'd just been away from the unit for half that day) and aggressively accused us of having just caused loud disturbances in the complex.

It was also concerning to see that the rear door to the complex was smashed in and innaccessible for the duration of our stay.

Bernie - before you bill a potentially returning guest for existing damage to the unit or make them feel persecuted by falsely accusing them of causing disturbance first, please ensure you have your facts straight...and remember that broken shards of glass do not make for a family friendly environment.

Unless you enjoy a gamble, give the place a miss.
If you do enjoy a gamble and accept a realistic possibility of losing more money than you originally intended, just go directly to the broadbeach casino instead.

Thanks for this review, which shows how committed we are to making a stay here as enjoyable as possible for all of our guests. The facts are: The unit had its 6-monthly professional carpet clean, which was inspected by us on completion. The four men in your party were the next guests in the unit. The spillage on the carpet can have come only from your party. On the Saturday night I did ask you which unit you were returning to, as you were noisy in the foyer and I wanted to make sure you were not going to a unit where there had been some earlier noise. On the Sunday night the rear security door was locked just before 9.00pm. At about 10.45pm I returned find a glass panel in the security door kicked in from the outside by someone unknown. Before I had a chance to clean it up your party of four men approached me from within the building, asking me to let you in to your unit as you had all left your keys (including your security keys) behind in your unit earlier in the day. I then cleaned up the broken glass and sealed off the area. Your party left the morning after the glass was broken. The panel was reglazed first thing on Tuesday morning, as Monday was a public holiday. Bernie.

Stayed in an apartment for 2 nights. Had my credit card swiped when checking in for security deposit.

When leaving the apartment, we:
put all towels in the bathtub
put all linen on the bed
Swept and moped floor
put all furniture back in its place (chairs set at the dining table, cushions on the lounge etc)
wiped the vanity in bathrooms
took all rubbish to the bins in basement
stacked dishwasher and put dishwashing powder in
cleaned kitchen (cleaned sink, wiped bench etc)

Basically, the apartment was in the condition we found it.

In the rush to check out by 10am, I forgot to turn on the dishwasher.
I WAS CHARGED $25 FOR FAILURE TO TURN ON THE DISHWASHER.

Additionally, I was charged $30 for a mark on the plastic balcony table. They said that the table has a cigarette burn in it (no body smokes). They said the table was delivered brand new to the apartment prior to us getting there and we were the first to use it. This is incorrect because I remember having to wipe it down before sitting at it because it was flaking from, what i guess, as long periods of exposure to salt air. On another note, the table is only worth about $10 from Bunnings. They said they had to replace the table.

When I asked management for a copy of the invoice because they said this is what their cleaners charged them - they refuse to show proof to justify these charges.

A month later of asking and asking and still have not received an invoice or my $55 back.

MONEY HUNGRY MANAGEMENT

At Marriner Views we are committed to having the Units completely ready for the next guest. If cleaners have to unpack a dishwasher, wash, dry and put away the contents then leave the empty dishwasher to run to remove smells before the next guest, this is what we have to do. Stubborn marks on tables have to be removed. These things are the legitimate reason for taking a bond or a card imprint. Since I rang you to advise about the charges, you have contacted us only through your free Legal Aid solicitors, who delivered your threat to refer this matter to the Small Claims Tribunal. I agreed in writing to provide documentary evidence af our costs to the Tribunal, if the Tribunal thought the documents relevant. You admit you made a small mistake. Who should pay for your mistakes? Should the cleaners do the extra work for nothing? Should the managers give up the small fees they make out of the booking? Should the unit owners take a lower return on their big investment and/or buy another new table? None of them can afford to be moved by legal threats or bad reviews.

Should have known from the first phone call and how pushy they were on the phone, didn't want to answer questions just take a booking. Never emailed confirmation.
Here's a brief list of my gripes.
Portacot prices are different to web site's and compendium.
Advertised price was agreed and when we arrived it was $250.00 more than the agreed night price.(if we were sent our booking confirmation we would have had proof - but I'm guessing that's the scam)
Ceiling fans dont work - sorry I should say they do, when they feel like it - they start and stop as they please - no joke !
Band-aids, tampon wrappers and dirt and dust under all 3 beds. Took photos as proof.
Splatter and spill stains on most of the kitchen cupboards and fridge. Didn't use there cutlery as it wasn't washed properly. Turned the dishwasher on and it made a horrible gurgling sound, gave up on that.
Light bulbs blown in all but 3 lights.
Clock battery didn't work - lucky we wear a watch. (minor but including it)
3 remotes on TV table. 1 for the TV- that worked and 2 extra. 1 didn't match the DVD/Video and it didn't turn on anyway ! 1 extra for what ?
Overall not impressed, the place needs a good clean as a start including the balcony. Has it ever been moped ? I dont think so.
OH and to top it of the spit on the lift was disgusting - told the manager every day and nothing happened. Still there when we left.
Guest book in room is full of gripes lately so maybe its just the last 6 months this place has gone down hill. I'm not sure but i wont try it again.
PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS PLACE I"M NOT EXAGERATING

We have just returned from a one week stay at the Marriner Views in apartment 20B. First of all the apartments are HUGE! Our apartment was spotlessly clean as were all common areas in the building. The view from this apartment was just superb with fantastic views from every room, from extensive sea views all along the coast to uninterrupted hinterland and city views. The balconies at the Marriner Views are huge. Our particular balcony was partially converted to a relaxing, glass walled, casual sitting area off the main room but we still had the remainder of the balcony off this sitting area, so we could sit outside if we wanted to. The weather, while we were there, was very windy so we were grateful to be able to have the views but be out of the elements. The main bedroom has an ensuite. The second bedroom also has a large balcony, again with extensive sea and hinterland views. The laundry room was well equipped with modern appliances. There were large flat screen tv's in the main room and bedroom. The room was very quiet at all times, there are only 2 units per floor with no adjoining walls. There was some traffic noise but not bothersome at all, as the main thing you can hear is the sea which is only a matter of a couple of minutes walk away from the Marriner Views. The beach by the Marriner Views is much less crowded than the beach in the centre of Surfers Paradise. The location is perfect as it's only a 15-20 minute walk into Surfers Paradise or a 20-25 minute walk into the more up-market Broadbeach.

There is a pool, gym, tennis court, spa, sauna, cabana/barbecue area and secure underground parking. There is also a meeting area adjacent to the reception. The pool area is relaxing and pleasantly landscaped.

All the apartments at the Marriner Views are privately owned and most have been renovated and I believe all rooms are required to meet certain standards before they are allowed to enter the holiday rental pool.

My partner and I are from England but live in Brisbane and whenever we holiday on the Gold Coast we always choose the Marriner Views for the spectacular views, location, apartment size, quietness and value for money. We have stayed in many of the apartments in this building over 20 years and have always been happy with our choice. Obviously, the higher floors have the best views but even lower floors have great views. We did stay once in apartment 2A and although views weren't as spectacular as the higher floors, we could still see and hear the sea. Again, 2A had a balcony converted into a pleasant, relaxing sun room.

Although it is an older style building (built in the 1980's), it has always been kept in exceptionally good order. For instance the reception area and all of the common internal areas in the lobby, including the sauna, have recently been completely renovated and refurbished.

The A and B apartments have slightly differing layouts. The A apartments have a balcony off the kitchen instead of the second bedroom.

The apartment managers, Bernie and Margaret are very helpful and conscientious regarding the comfort and needs of guests.

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We booked in here at the last minute as our other accomodation was disgraceful. We were pleasantly suprised at the size of the apartments and the balcony and view was incredible.

The apartments are older and could do with a minor facelift and window clean, but overall (apart from one or 2 light bulbs which we didnt ask to be fiexed as it didnt bother us) they suited us and another couple we were travelling with perfectly. The kitchen is large and easy to cook in, the laundry was well utilised and it is a very secure complex. I think they are all individually owned so I guess it depends on which apartment you get, we were on level 5.

We stayed 3 nights here recently. I booked the apartment directly with the manager and his assurance that we would have a view was realised. These apartments are not as new as some and consequently are extremely spacious in the living and kitchen areas with a large sized patio. We had two bathrooms and a separate laundry and two bedrooms for $120.00 AUD per night, with underground parking. These would be great for families or couples looking to share. There was a fair sized pool and the child's pool was undergoing some work. The sauna and plunge pool were great. The only disappointment was that the spa pool was not full and, given the time of year, we had planned to enjoy a warm soak at the end of the day. Overall we thought these apartments were great value for money and would definitely recommend them.

Exceptional service from Bernie and his wife :
- Check-in was a breeze during the week-end; immediate assistance for everything, including in-house wifi connection code and TV channels (I am from Canada and not familiar with the Australian Netflix), requested household and kitchen items, fixing the patio door, everything.
- They know Brisbane very well and are a precious source of accurate practical advise. Bernie’s sense of humour makes it feel home… Lots of personalized attention.

The condo:
- It was so large, it felt like 2 condos in one. I got lost in it when still under jetlag. All the rooms have views, including the 2 bathrooms, the kitchen, the laundry room; it totals to a 360 degree view. I wore a cap indoor because the natural light in the appt was so strong as if I were outdoor. Incredible.
- Coldish in September but the movable heater did wonder
- Pillows you want to die for
- Old furnishing style harmonized by the colour and warm general ambiance.

Bernie, please hug your wife, I miss you both. Thanks for all your graceful hospitality.
