Parking sucked but that's on every review of this hotel anyway!! Rooms were fairly clean, though it could have done with a thorough vacuum. The rug in the lounge room was dirty. The kettle and toaster were not in the cupboard or any cupboard in the kitchen where Reception said they were going to be, rather the Vacuum cupboard. We had no tea towel, dishwashing liquid or bin liners and we were told to walk to the reception to get these, when you are in Tower 2 you have to get in the lift go to level 3 walk through a long corridor get in another lift and get to the ground to find reception. It would have been easier for their cleaner to drop one off on their rounds. We had a 3 bedroom apartment with 5 people staying and I don't think 3 rolls of toilet paper is enough for a 3night 4 day stay, so once again we had to go to reception to pick this up. Reception staff were accommodating and lovely, apologetic but I don't think it was up to scratch with the amount we paid in the school holidays.

I was a huge fan after staying here before in a privately owned apartment. This time we stayed in a Manta apartment. We found it was very dirty and even after me trying to vacuum, the cleaner who was sent up to us said it was terrible. The carpet was full of hair and 2 toe nails were sitting on the floor by the couch. The room is in desperate need of a thorough clean and some upgrading! The dining chairs need to be thrown out! Moved to another room and had more issues with the cleanliness of the curtains (which my son thought someone had wiped their bottom on), the dirty shower, dirty toilet and the terribly worn toilet seat. The lounge suite had a heap of needles in the side of it and we found another needle on the floor in the bedroom which my husband trod on. Kids and adults screaming in the pool from 6am! The groundskeeper was using a leaf blower at 6:45 am!! No way of a sleep in at this place!

Great location, ocean and canal views , rooms do need a little up lifting paint , curtains and furniture but overall fine. When all 4 lifts are working quick and enough room in them. Staff friendly and helpful.

We had asked for early checkin in advance as we had drove down from Brisbane Airport and had to drive back to pick up Frankish and their parents. The receptionist said they started cleaning at 10.30 am. Didn’t get in until after 1 o’clock. No updates from staff to explain delay. Room had not been cleaned properly despite the amount of time they took even found some metal staples on the carpet.
View would of been great if it wasn’t for the uncleared window and doors. Dust under the lounges and beds. The carpets had stains and the furniture was outdated. Bed mattresses were singles pushed together to make doubles but were uneven so form a gully in the middle. One throw that didn’t reach the bottom of the bed with no extra linen. Walls had cracks a paint missing in spots.
People with young children may wish to avoid rooms with balconies as no locks on doors. I had to go buy some tape to wrap around the waist high latches so the grandkids
[2&5] couldn’t open the sliding doors. Only positive was the view of both the beach and the Broadwater and the size of the 3 bed 2 bath +toilet apartment. The pool area was great but if you’re looking for some quiet time forget it. Overall management needs to look at a full refurbish and cleaning staff.

Room 3285
Arriving 9th Dec 2020 for 7 nights.
Our stay from the beginning was doomed.
When we arrived only one lift was working which meant it took over an hour to get up to our apartment, leaving us stranded on level 2 with 3 small kids.
Once we got in, the apartment was very small, the smallest one we have ever had, not suitable for 5 people. After being in for 5 miutes we called down to reception as the air con was not working, the receptionist told us the maintenance guy would come in the morning to look at it, i explained it was only 3pm, over 30 degrees outside, we were on the 28th floor with 3 children under 5yrs old we needed the air con working, leaving the door open was not an option, she just said she would see what she could do. Needless to say, we never saw a maintenance man.
Good job my husband is an air con mechanic and fixed it himself!

Our apartment was filthy, there was so much dust, the carpet was dirty, there was white stains on the couches, tiles were cracked in the kitchen, the oven was full of grease, no oven trays, no knives. Again a call to reception fell on deaf ears, no one came to clean the room, no one came to give us knives.

The bedside tables were rusty. The clothes horse was broken leaving sharp edges exposed (I would remove that asap before someone is hurt, great height to take a childs eye out)
We had cockroaches in our bathroom on our first night.
Our request to move rooms was ignored and we were told the hotel was fully booked.
During our stay there was severe storms, 3 out of the 4 locking mechanisms on the window was already broken which allowed the wind to come through the windows keeping us awake and fearing the windows would be torn off, meaning we had to sleep in the lounge (on the stained couches) as soon as we woke up we mentioned this to security as reception was still closed and he shrugged his shoulders, we couldn't believe it.
Again another request to move rooms was ignored, we now feared our room not only for how poor the cleanliness was but now for safety reasons too.
The indoor pool was dissappointing, there were no chairs to sit whilst our children played, there was nowhere to place our towels etc meaning the wet floor was the only option.
We requested a baby cot, when it arrived late, the baby matress was stained and looked very unhygienic.
We have been customers of yours every year for the last 4 years, we bring our children to you, recommend you to friends and family but dissappointed doesn't even come close to our holiday this year. We had been looking forward to our holiday all year (this was booked at the beginning of 2020) and are so unsatisfied with our stay and even considered leaving early. We should have been moved rooms from day 1 or offered a refund and gone to a different hotel.
I would like someone to contact me regarding this complaint.
Regards
Laura

Waited until 2PM to check in to our room as cleaning was underway. Upon arrival we opened the door to a very unclean room. Had 2 Mcdonald’s bags full of food stuffed under the bed from the previous guests. This made us question whether or not the cleaners even cleaned the room as this was disgusting. Called reception and they suggested to send the cleaners down again. The room did not come with face washers or a bath mat. When we noticed this I called reception again and was told ‘we no longer supply face washers or bath mats’ which resulted in us going and purchasing these items. There was no antenna connected to the TV which meant the TV did not work, no light bulbs in the bedside lamps, no shade covering over the bedroom roof light. Mould growing in the bathroom where the washing machine and dryer is located as there is no real airflow. Due to covid we had two bookings we put together which meant a room change. Admittedly our mistake for leaving it so late to organise where we would store our luggage as we had to check out in the morning and recheck in at 2pm. ( Holiday mode kicked in ) We had an activity to Tamborine Mountain booked on at 7:30AM. I called reception to get some insight as to where we could safely leave our luggage until we had to check into our new room the following day. She was not helpful at all. I was told she does not work within the building as it was after reception hours she had no access to any information on luggage storage therefore she could not help me and suggested going and speaking to security. I went down and explained the situation to security where I was told that’s fine we will give you the key in the morning to place your baggage in the storage room. 7:30AM the next morning we are down in reception with our baggage being told by another security guard ‘the staff no longer trust us with the keys, we use to have them but we no longer have the access to the luggage room. We can’t help you. The guard last night mustn’t have been informed about the change made MONTHS ago as he only works nights not morning’. Absolutely disgusted as the lack of information available for the guests here staying at the Mantra. We had to take our luggage to Tamborine Mountain for the day thankfully the private bus was not full and the driver allowed us to at no extra charge.
Upon returning to the towers and checking into a new room we were given face washers and bath mats in which we were previously told they no longer provide ???
Little to no care for the guests here. Extremely fast to take your money but very hesitant to actually service you. Very poor service for the money you pay to stay here . Not happy at all and will NOT be recommending this accomodation to other family and friends.

I went on a holiday with my friends last year and was shown around the hotel room by a man who we were told was a regular guest in this particular apartment, his name was Kevin. We thought at first this was a lovely gesture however sooner realised we were set up to not get our deposit back of $1000. He along with the hotel had framed us. When we left a week later, the hotel said we would not get the deposit back on the grounds of saying we had left the apartment a complete mess. We were shocked to hear this as a day before we left a man on behalf of Kevin came in and stated in was in perfect condition 'one of the cleanest guests they had had.' Before leaving the hotel we had spent hours cleaning the hotel as we knew it was someones home. As we were teenage girls i believe this man and the hotel saw this as an opportunity to take advantage of us and our inexperience. When we complained he sent us staged photos of the apartment he had created himself such as pots and pans (which we scrubbed and put away). The pots and pans were full of a dinner he had that night as we did not make Bolognese. He claimed we scratched his fridge, made a deep water mark on his table of which would have been impossible to make with a damp towel and we had seen the mark when we had arrived. He also claimed we had left grime everywhere and therefore I want to warn future guests to wary of Kevin and the Hotel they will take advantage of the vulnerable.

I was part of a large group booking recommended by a travel agent. Mantra must pay large kick backs. This was the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in. Most of us had very dirty and broken rooms. The cleanliness and maintenance is abysmal. Every single surface was stained, there were finger nails, hair, acres of dust, food crumbs, something that looked like chewing gum on the walls - the list goes on. I actually feel sorry for the cleaners trying to make these rooms look presentable. It would take a maintenance person and a bomb squad a week each to get the the room we had up to scratch, that's how bad it was. We're not perfectionists, like any traveller we just wanted a reasonably clean room that doesn't make you feel ill being in it.

The only positives were the pool and surrounding garden areas - they were lovely, clean and well maintained. Don't know why they can't manage the same level for their rooms.

We complained on check in and were offered another room, that room was just as bad upon inspection. Service was friendly, but unhelpful when we complained. We got refunded our money after one night and stayed elsewhere. There is so many better choices. Don't stay here.

Just because the rooms and decor are tired doesn't mean they can't be cleaned and maintained. A $50/night motel I stayed at recently hasn't been touched since 1985 but it was clean and well maintained. The Mantra group should be ashamed of themselves.

Truly awful: smelly blankets which we had to wash before use, blood stains on the shower, filthy carpet, we found dead cockroaches in one of the room, and chewing gum stuck to the carpet in the lounge. We had to run all the crockery through a hot cycle in the dishwasher before use because everything was filthy. The TV had to be reset eachtime you switched it off, the lifts took ages, the two sets of cabinets were broken, the bed was against the wardrobe so you couldn't use it. very run down apartment for the money we paid!.

Very confusing at the start, so may lobbies, the parking takes time to get used to, you end up stuck for a long time behind people who are still getting used to it.

Often not enough towels to spare, got given 2 bath mats instead, and we are 4 people!

Very noisy being a central location, the air-conditioning unit is very very noisy inside the apartment.

Will never stay here again, and will never recommend to anyone.

No it's not heated but there is a indoor heated pool, we didn't think it was dirty. We had a bbq on a beautiful sunny day beside the pool with sand. It's a very convenient place to stay as it's close to beach , shops and some great fun stuff for the children as well. PERFECT PLACE TO STAY and no I am not a staff member or part of the company.
