Location is perfect because close to everything.
Size of the apartment is great.
They should move a bit the bed so that visitors could use the wall power to charge their phones.
Great value for money if you pay $100 a day.
My room had issues with the windows to be fixed, rain and wind could go through.
Very noisy till 3-4am on Friday and Saturday cause you can hear the music from outside. They should spend some money to install double glazing windows.
Good facilities (pool, spa, etc.)
Close to all amenities (supermarket, shops, tram, busses, main entertainment areas, beach).
Wouldn’t mind to stay over again.
Very strict in terms on how to leave the premises and the top of the fridge wasn’t clean when I arrived.

Another great stay at Breakfree Cosmopolitan. We emailed a few weeks earlier to ask if we could please have a similar room location to which we had on our first stay - and we got the exact same room which we were very happy about. Few wee cleaning bits and bobs which need looked at and I wrote them on the form before we left but other than that - happy days! Thanks.

The apartment book was not what I intended. I booked 1 Bedroom deluxe through the Qantas website where it says it fits 3 people with 2 photos of the rooms of the apartment with a bed in each photo, assuming it has 2 separate beds with 1 in each room, a double bed in one room and a single bed in the other room that can sleep 3 people in total like it says. However, when I arrived I only realised it was something different to what I intended.

When I told the reception about the discrepancy between what I intended to receive and the reality, I was offered an extra bed (a foldable bed) at an extra cost which I refused. Therefore I chose to sleep on the soft on my first night. However, the sofa was so filthy with bread crumbs and food scraps inside, I notified the reception the following morning and they kindly offered me a foldable bed at no extra charge. However, it was so hard and uncomfortable, I ended up back sleeping on the sofa for the rest of my stay.

The cleanliness and hygiene of the apartment was terrible, there were sticky patches on the floor, the shower drain trap was left with a bunch of hair when I arrived, the sofa was filthy with bed crumbs and food scraps as mentioned, it was never vacuumed and there were rubbish under the sofa.

On a positive, they were very helpful to most of the requests like requesting an extra blanket or trying to solve my issue. However if I have to pay more than $300 a night to stay, I definitely would not chose here again.

Dear YATHO LAI, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the BreakFree Cosmopolitan Surfers Paradise. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. At BreakFree, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. After reviewing our room type descriptions, I can confirm that the bedding configuration within our 1 Bedroom Deluxe Apartments are advertised as 1x Queen Bed however can accommodate for a maximum of 3x people by providing a rollaway bed. Our rollaway beds are hired out from an external company & as a gesture of good will, we provided this to you complimentary. If you feel that your agent (Qantas) has given you misleading information, we would suggest raising your concerns with them as unfortunately none of our 1 Bedroom Deluxe Apartments consist of 1x Queen + 1x Single Bed. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Sincerely, Kylie Batt

We stayed in the Cosmopolitan BreakFree Surfers Paradise for a weekend in June 2021 on the 10th floor in a ‘deluxe room’, needless to say, we will never stay here again.

Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly reception staff and told our room still wasn’t ready despite it being 2:15pm for a 2pm check-in. About 20 minutes later and finalising the paperwork, we were given our keys and made our way to the room. Getting to our room we found the door open and the ‘cleaners’ still in room making beds and directed us to sit on the balcony.

Once the ‘cleaners’ moved to the next room, we decided to start unpacking and walking around to see where we were living for the next few days, and it was all downhill from there.

 ‘Deluxe 2 bedroom room’ was the same size as the single room making the living space very tiny
 4 guests with 3 dining chairs with a table so small it was not usable
 Rubbish and towels on the side of the balcony
 Toilet roll holder falling off
 No bedside tables in either room
 No lamps or other lighting in the bedrooms other than the main light
 Wardrobes broken and falling apart
 Mold in and around the apartment
 Outdated and broken furniture – black lounge was flaky and falling apart, 2 white single lounges were old and worn with 1 was stuffed with an old mattress spring ‘for comfort’
 Apart from what the 4’11’ cleaner could see, nothing was clean and nothing had been moved to clean – previous guests things under lounge with an abundance of dust
 Fridge was dirty, in, out and on top.

It should also be noted that this place is shared with permanent residence who don’t appear to like to share ‘their’ carpark with holiday makers.

Apart from the great location, the apartment was very dirty, beds and lounges uncomfortable and the noise coming from neighboring business made it very hard to sleep. Now, whilst I understand staying right on the main strip incurs noise, there is absolutely no attempt by this hotel to noise proof the room.. something that is not advertised. It's not an apartment that matches any photos advertised or a place to holiday with a baby or children, let alone worth the $900 spent.

Dear V1278QYmatthewr, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the BreakFree Cosmopolitan Surfers Paradise. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. Eastern part of the building all external windows have been replaced with double glazing in March 2021. Please rest assured, we are working with our Body Corporate to complete rest of the building in timely manner. Also, furniture throughout most units are in the process of being replaced, however unfortunately due to current conditions we are struggling with delivery. At BreakFree, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. Issues around cleanliness will certainly be addressed with our team and for this to occur we apologize. I had booked this accommodation for myself and my 2 teenage daughters to stay in for 7 nights. I was already a bit worried due to some unpleasant reviews but thought an email to the hotel might help us to not experience similar issues in which a reply from the hotel reassured us we’d be fine as we had booked a 2 bedroom deluxe room which were the most recent rooms to be refurbished.

Ironically when we arrived we were told there was a short delay in checking in as it was still being ‘cleaned’ which we were more than ok with. Once we were able to enter our apartment firstly we were shocked at not only how small the apartment was, especially the size of the kitchen and living area (if you can call it that), but how filthy the apartment was. I’m talking marks on walls that could easily be wiped off, old Blu-tac on walls, dark long hair on the fresh new white rolled up towels on display, hair, fluff and dirt on the tiles next to the bed, handprints and blow fish marks all over the INSIDE of the sliding glass doors. The front of the stainless steel dishwasher and oven were both filthy, the cupboard that houses the apartment mop and broom; the mop head was dirty and the broom (OMG) was so filthy and full of hair/dust and dirt that if it was in your home you’d throw it out. The outdoor ‘balcony’ flooring was covered in moss/green muck. Oh and there was an apple under the tub chair in the ‘living area’ which we only found because we moved it to try and find a PowerPoint to charge a phone.

Not only was the apartment filthy it was so small and completely unacceptable for a family to ‘comfortably live in’ for a week. Thank goodness my husband couldn’t come due to work commitments as there would have been no where for him to sit in the ‘so called living area’ as there was only one very small hard 2 seater short couch and a single tub chair - that’s it… far from relaxing.

My teenagers said Mum we can’t stay here, I’d rather be at home in which I agreed. So we rang reception, told them our concerns, showed them photos we took (the poor girl on reception was so embarrassed, I kept reassuring her none of this was her fault), she showed us another room that we could possibly move to but it was pretty much the same so we made the decision to check back out that same afternoon and we left. I’ve travelled a lot and never ever have I even come close to leaving an accommodation that we had booked until this trip. Luckily we found another hotel that was nicer, cleaner and a much bigger apartment to move to that same afternoon. Looking back over the photos we are still shocked….

Stayed at the hotel for 5 days, rooms have a washer dryer which sounds great, but the dryer has a warning that it can set off the fire alarm and charge the guest $1500 for cfs callout, which is super nerve racking.

Some other guests got locked out whilst we were there after hours and management didn’t answer, and when they finally did, management left them waiting at night with no help for hours.

There was a surprise inspection during our stay that the management gave us less than an hour notice of, which felt super invasive - an inspection that apparently the hotel only conducts every 3 years, so management had plenty of fair warning for themselves, and subsequently to give to their guests, that they didn’t notify us of until an hour prior.

There was also a $200 deposit for the room required that was not mentioned until arrival.

Deposits and inspections are par for the course of staying in a hotel in my opinion, but so should be clear and fair notification to guests which simply didn’t happen.

The room itself was decent and had a good view, but due to the management staff I’ll not be staying here again. I’d suggest anyone thinking of staying in the area to use one of the similarly priced alternatives that are abundant.

The service from staff is great. But I do not recommend staying here. There is cockroaches and far from the cleanest rooms. I got upgraded to not much better. The contracted cleaners not doing a good job, leaving somebody else’s medication behind the front door and also somebody’s underwear on the balcony. Apart from that good location. But I’ll be staying the next block away next time.

You can't check in till 2.00 p.m. however you would expect the rooms to be available at that time. Not in our case. The staff at reception were relatively pleasant. The location is great being close to the light rail and shops/ restaurants and some of the views (level 10) are quite good. That is where the good bits stop. The furnishings are in need of replacing. Our lounges (2) were falling apart and peeling off every time you came into contact with it. The noise at night is extremely loud and goes late into the night if you need to sleep. The water in the shower did not flow towards the drain and the kitchen cupboards do not close correctly. Could not recommend this as a place to stay in the future. Looking at the reviews from years gone by, it appears that the owners have not made any changes or upgrades for many years.

Dear Boris202, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We apologise for your experience. Unit you stayed in had all external windows replaced in March 2021 and this helps with reducing the noise. Unfortunately, the furniture has been letting us down and our owners did put through a bulk order which we are expecting of delivery. As you would appreciate due to current conditions it is delayed. Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Kind Regards, Timur Mertalioglu General Manager

This is one of the most uncared for apartments we have ever stayed in. The apartment 747 overlooks Cavill Ave and has views to the ocean. This is where the plusses stop. Apartment in dire need of a paint job. Mouldy shower stall, floors sticky, windows sticky with fingermarks. I washed the kitchen and bathroom floor myself and also used a broom to remove dust from all the architraves. I also washed the kitchen splash back removing the grease. I also swept balcony to get rid of previous guest's hair. No WiFi which is unheard of. Also quite noisy as the complex is not double glazed. Such a pity as this is somebody's retirement plan.

Stayed for 4 nights in 2br deluxe apartment 13725 on top floor (13),
Bed very comfortable, good shower and washing facilities as well.
Break free is right in the cbd and therein lies the noise problem.
Even on the top floor we could here the trams, crowds, cars and the wonderful doof doof music on Thursday night from 8-midnight. This made sleeping very difficult.
Also the 2 br apt is small with uncomfortable chairs/table jammed in the kitchen - ant the table is glued to the bench so unable to move it.
The wifi is crap. Some apartments have a good signal, others do not and in todays world free wifi is an industry standard - and break free use a 3rd party with only one device allowed, and even the the reception is below average.
So not the best experience and building and facilities are looking worn.
