Mantra Legends Surfers Paradise garners praise for its spotless rooms and prime location, a hit with guests eager to explore nearby beaches, shops, and attractions. However, some guests point out inconsistencies in room maintenance and cleaning, as well as additional costs that may affect the hotel's value proposition.
While the atmosphere and service receive mixed reviews, with mentions of both modern elegance and signs of wear, the hotel's amenities, including the impressive views, satisfy many, despite occasional reports of outdated features and Wi-Fi issues.

Location would be the highlight of our stay as you can literally walk to everywhere for like 5-10 minutes. They don't have much parking spots on site but all good as it's cheaper to park in nearby public carpark like Bruce Bishop Car Park where you only pay $95 for 7 days parking. We love the pool as well but the jacuzzi can be better, it has lots of.pointed area, tiles are peeling off, water too salty (too much chlorine maybe?), not all spots has bubbles so definitely needs a good repair/maintenance. The happy hour was great as well except for not much cocktail choices, it's always the same every siinggglle dddaaayy. Other than these, all good, room is clean and ac works good. Housekeeping needs more training as they didn't clean our toilets and they just left us a toilet brush on a plastic cup for us to clean it ourselves!!?? Not happy with this one.

Though only two blocks further away from the Novotel on Cavil Avenue, the Mantra Legends was almost 25% cheaper and sure the Novotel has been done up, but it would be unfair to say the Mantra is rundown.
I booked 4 rooms for the extended family and the review reflects this. Some points;
• No cover or shade what-so-ever on the pool from 10am to 5pm • Happy Hour between 4-6pm was okay but drink size seemed to reflect price. • Carpark worth any $20 fee per day • 3min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to Cavil Avenue • WiFi inconsistent, higher it goes up the worse it seemed to get. So kids often went to lobby to play Roblox. • Good shower pressure • Love Urban Skin care toiletries, but mounted on wall.
Staff were amazing and very helpful and kind. Nothing bad to say about any individual from reception to the bar to the dining room for breakfast. But there were consistent long waits at reception and often for the lifts (3).
That said, buffet breakfast was never packed and food was always well stocked. Quality was right on average.
By biggest beef with the hotel is because it’s a little cheaper the type of clienteles is the type who don’t wait for people to exit the left before entering, walk naked dripping wet from the pool through the lobby, in the lift and to their room. Or yell and scream on the phone during breakfast, including having domestics at the top of their voices during breakfast or at the bar, honestly some guests dressed and lied on furniture like a homeless person.
It was like they forgot they are guests and as just because they are on holidays and paid to stay, they forget to be kind, forget human decency and be respectful of others.
If you are on a family budget, Mantra Legends is the perfect place to stay on the Goldie, close to everything, decent sized rooms, loads of restaurants nearby. But can get a bit seedy in the evening and if you have the money and everyone has decent mobility, I would look to go elsewhere. Staff were amazing in ‘trying’ conditions.

We are Accor members and from the get-go reaped our rewards. 19th floor ocean view apartment, envelope with drinks and wifi information which was prepared prior, our room was set when we entered with soft music, aircon and windows drawn, and the credit card bond waived. Carparking was available , and we had to pay $15 per night for our 3 night stay. This hotel is not the flashiest, but it definitely ticks all the boxes. Lovely pool, location is 10 minutes walk to everywhere and we had a great time because of this. We had breakfast every day in the buffet, which was always fresh, hot, and well stocked. We changed our hotel to the Mantra Legends because of their breakfast.

We stayed here for our first anniversary and first visit to the Gold Coast. I booked a Deluxe Studio with Ocean View because the photos showed a great view, and I clearly requested a high floor upon booking. I even called after making the reservation to ensure this, as I understood it might be subject to availability. But I know how these things work, as I’ve worked in accommodation management myself, if I had informed by the staff that my request couldn’t be accommodated, I would have booked elsewhere.
However, when we checked in at 7 pm, we were disappointed with the view and the low floor we were given. After a long flight and a dinner reservation at 7:40 pm, we didn’t have the energy to change hotels.
The reservationist should have informed me in advance, especially given how important this trip was for us. This could have been easily resolved if the team had paid more attention to guest requests. Also, the hotel room photos were far from reality.
I've attached the photos of the room the hotel advertised and the actual room we received.
Additionally, the room didn’t even have a shower cap provided, and guests had to request one. Additionally, there was no doona, only a plain sheet on the bed for guests to use as a blanket.

The location is great and the staff are friendly however I would not recommend. Unfortunately the room we booked (king studio) differed from the photos, which I understand can happen, but there were other issues - the room had an unpleasant smell, the carpet was old and dirty, the tv did not work, the surfaces of the room had dust plus one of the towels had marks. The staff did get the room cleaned and tv fixed immediately however for a 4 star hotel you would expect to walk into a clean hotel room with tv working.

Our ocean view deluxe studio was of ample size for two people and had a balcony and a kitchenette with a microwave/convection oven and stove top. It was a little dated but nicely maintained and comfortably furnished. It also offered great views of the beach and the ocean. The bathroom, although small, had plenty of space for storing toiletries and hanging towels and contained some very nice smelling toiletries in eco-friendly dispensers. The location is great, being an easy walk to the beach and the Surfers Paradise Tram Stop. Although it’s close to shops and restaurants, there are dispensing machines in the foyer. We were greeted very nicely by the guy at reception and although we arrived an hour earlier than expected, our room was ready, so we were allowed to check in early. All members of staff we met were very friendly and pre-stay emails were answered promptly and all requests were granted. As a Gold ALL member I received an accommodation upgrade, 12:00 late check out, a nice welcome gift with a personalised message and two drink vouchers. Buffet breakfast in the restaurant was great value at only $25. It included eggs, bacon and sausages, a good selection of cereals and bakery items, as well as pancakes and fruit. This was our first stay at a Mantra hotel and, if this was an indication of what to expect of the brand, it will definitely not be our last.

Some of the staff were incredibly rude for one instance there was a stuff member mopping. We walked past in a towel (completely dry) she screamed GREATT at us which we thought was extremely rude to take out frustration at us when we were not the ones leaving a puddle on the floor. Makes me wonder what she said to the people who did. As someone who works in customer service even if you are frustrated you don’t speak to customers like that. The rooms could be more clean too seems they just make the bed and change the towels between guests and don’t actually clean the benches or walls if dirty.

We booked 10 nights in a spa suite paying just over $300 per night. As we are from a colder state a priority of our holiday is to get some sunshine So I called the hotel several months out from our arrival specifically requesting a sunny room with balcony and sea views, like the one in the advertising. As a Accor plus platinum member the staff made special notes and said that we should get our requests seen as we are platinum. The day before our arrival I called to confirm our room and was told that yes they were able to give us our requests. On arrival however we were given a room with no balcony partial sea views but it was sunny. The next morning I went down to reception and just asked that if over the next 10 days the room that we requested (As in the advertising) came up that would be happy to change rooms but no stress if not. Staff then called us the same morning to say that our requested room was available if we wanted to move. We were so grateful and moved to our new room, it had a small balcony beautiful views but the sun did not shine on that part of the building. Toward the end of our stay we decided that we would extend for an extra 2 days so instead of booking a spa suite I just booked a deluxe studio ocean view room and it is beautiful. Ocean views with the sun flooding into your room and sunny balcony. Very grateful to have a couple of days at the end of our holiday in a lovely sunny room.

there were no blankets on both beds - just a throw over. music and noise from the markets on the beach could be heard. There was noise in the room next door or above. It was loud enough to keep us awake till 3am. Seems like games were played till the early hours of the morning. Checking-in was a breeze and we got car park easily underground. We attended the function on the first floor which was beautifully set out and staff were really helpful. Morning breakfast was superb and a friendly former Singaporean Waitress was very kind and welcoming. Check out was easy. Car park was $20 plus gst per night Will def stay at the Mantra again but will check the noise level and get a room on the opp side to the surf.

Without a doubt one of the worst experiences in my life with staying at a hotel. Firstly my friends and I booked 2 rooms adjoining together for $1200 for 2nights. One of the rooms the air conditioning doesn’t not work. Had checked in at 6pm and were told neither of the rooms had a car park. So both of our 2 cars had to be parked off site from the hotel. Reception were unfriendly, uncooperative and impolite upon check in. We were told that because we booked through booking.com that we were not entitled to pool towels, or an additional roll of toilet paper.
This is one of the most upsetting and frustrating experiences I have come across in my life. I have worked for hotels for almost 21 years and I have never ever experienced not giving an extra roll of toilet paper or an additional towel. So unprofessional and so ridiculous. Do yourself a favour do not stay unless you want a terrible stay and bad experience. Also the water in the Antarctic is warmer than the spare.

Secure hotel parking is $20-$30 per nite, standard hotel rate, but have to book in advance as is limited space available, so was able to find FREE parking right outside street parking at the hotel for limited time only though from 7pm-9am which was handy... otherwise, Bruce bishop parking not far to walk is another option to. To get to Star casino 10 mins on TRAM and the stop just 5 mins walk towards Surfers, really handy... After hours return from Casino best by CAB, catch just outside foyer for approx $15 back to hotel :)
There are more places to choose from in the Surfers Paradise area.
