Mantra Circle On Cavill in Surfers Paradise earns praise for its central location near beaches and nightlife, although some visitors note occasional noise. The hotel's amenities, including multiple pools and a gym, receive positive remarks, but signs of wear are noted. While the staff is generally lauded for their friendliness, there are sporadic reports of slow service.
Guests enjoy the hotel's vibrant atmosphere and family-friendly facilities, yet some feel the rooms, despite offering impressive views, require updates. Cleanliness is typically satisfactory, though isolated complaints of untidiness have surfaced.

Detailed Reviews
Our stay in a One Bedroom Ocean Spa Apartment was fine, despite a number of issues.
The room itself was modern, although there were some oddities in the design of the bathroom in particular. For example, the basin tap is side-on and fixed in position, leading to annoying splash back. The bathroom also lacks complete privacy with a sliding door not providing a closed seal and a window from the bedroom giving full view of the toilet.
The bed (actually two single beds pushed together) was not the most comfortable, and the pillows were flimsy offering no support.
The provided toiletries, laundry and dishwashing supplies were insufficient to last for the duration of our five-night stay.
The room lacked a compendium usually expected in hotels to provide general information. No instructions were given on where to dispose of rubbish. There was also no indication that the apartment is serviced once a week, so this was a surprise when housekeeping entered while we were there and it was not a convenient time (I was in the spa bath at the time).
During our stay, an emergency warning briefly came over the speaker in the room, causing panicked confusion. This was compounded by the room telephone being disconnected, although this was fixed the next day. However, reception staff were unaware of the alarm, which was apparently isolated to our room, and no explanation was ever given.
There was sometimes a wait for the lifts, particularly when two out of the four lifts were out of service, compounded by the limited capacity in each lift due to the coronavirus.
Staff were friendly and welcoming. The location is excellent being conveniently placed in the heart of Surfers Paradise surrounded by stores, restaurants and entertainment venues.

Dear Scenic318435, thank you for your 4 star review. We appreciate the time and effort in writing such a detailed report of your stay. We are glad you had a lovely stay. Just to assist as you made such a wonderful effor with your review, I will clarify a few of the points for you and others reading to help for future stays. The beds are all king zip beds with a mattress topper. This allows for both king and king single options for our guests. If you ever have a problem with comfort please notify us at the time as we have solutions in heavier toppers if required. Same goes for pillows. We do a low profile pillow as we find most guests find comfort but we do have higher profile pillows for those that need them. Please never hesitate to ask, we are all for offering what we can to help our guests. As the rooms are fully self contained we do only offer a starter pack of amenities in the rooms as a complentry service, larger quanties of personal amenaties are to be supplied by the guests or extras can be collected from our reception. For any stay over 5 nights we do offer a complementary mid stay cleaning service on the 3rd day, but there is no daily cleaning service on our rate packages. We do apologise for any lift issues, as this is beyond our control I can only offer our regret that it effected your time in our building. I hope that this response has assisted in some way and we truly hope to see you again in the future.

Hotel in prime location but that is it. Very disappointed with hotel & rooms. First room was very hot broken air-conditioning, the odour was foul & entry card to room took 8 trials to get in.
Notified Hotel staff & they gave us a similar room with air-conditioning & no foul odour. Most of the hotel was extremely hot, stuffy lifts. I chose a self contained room but never got any fresh towels in the four days that I was there. I have stayed at many hotels in Surfers Paradise & was always given fresh towels (even in self contained).
Pools were ok not much night lights (many were not working), hand rails very loose, Sauna tub worked for 2 nights then closed for repairs. Hotel is in great location everything close by, Woolies, eateries, and Cavill Ave at your door step but way too many drunken people yelling fighting at night just as you leave hotel, quite scary when you have young children, not really a kid friendly Hotel.
Very disappointing for a 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ hotel.

A few teething issues with air conditioner but made up for it with its location, views and space. A full kitchen and budget price meant that long stays (10 days for me) were easily palatable. Full glass outlook from floor to ceiling gave plenty of light and the concierge made it easy to book activities all around the Gold Coast. Don't worry about driving as all clubs and bars are in within walking distance

We have stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world and I would have to say this is by far the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in. We will never stay in a Mantra accommodation ever again. Admittedly our hinterland and water views from our 48th floor apartment #2484 were spectacular, however, the room had obviously not been cleaned, and even if it had been cleaned it would still smell dirty. The balcony glass was full of cobwebs and you could hardly see through them due to dust and grime and the same went for the sliding door runners OMG, they were disgustingly filthy, and there was clumps of cigarette ash in the balcony tiles. We cannot sit on the settees, as they are too dirty and worn. I had to put all the dishes into the dishwasher on our arrival to clean them. All the cupboards and countertops had food residue on them as did the splash backs and floor tiles. The carpets also had obviously not been vacuumed. I can understand why people left dishes, pots and pans and cutlery not properly clean, as there was no scoured or dishwashing liquid to clean them. The dining chairs wow badly marked and dirty with sticky food residue on the seats. The toilet had urine stains on the toilet seat and the vanity had dirty marks on it, clearly indicating it had not been cleaned. The glass on the shower wall was difficult to see through due to a build up of soap scum - another indication that it is never cleaned. Our shower in our home still looks like brand new after five years of use, because we clean it down after each use. The apartment itself and its furnishings are dirty, tired and worn. Our room was 28 degrees celsius last night despite the fact we had the air conditioning on 22 degrees. There was no one to ring as the reception is only open business hours and there is no information in the room in regard to emergency numbers. In the current COVID environment, I would have thought that cleaning staff would be giving extra attention to areas that are handled frequently in the apartment, eg light switches, door/cupboard/drawer handles, TV remotes etc. Every settee in the lobby was filthy with stains all over them. So, how can you expect the rooms to be clean when they can’t even keep the lobby clean. When we walked out of the lobby in the morning, there was all this white stuff on the floor tiles, and when we came back in the afternoon, some five hours later it was still there!

The overall experience at Mantra Circle on Cavil was very disappointing, we had to change rooms three times due to them being rundown or the fridge not functioning properly along with the toilet not flushing and also the uncleanliness. Housekeeping did not put in enough effort. vacuuming. Not once during our stay did the housekeepers vacuum our apartment. We are provided with a vacuum cleaner in our cupboard so we had assumed that we were supposed to vacuum our apartment however that was not the case we were told that the housekeepers were actually supposed to vacuum. They would clean very poorly, they wouldn't mop or clean the mirrors from fingermark. They often didn't provide enough washing powder for the washing machine. The balcony was never vacuumed or cleaned we found multiple cockroaches and the floor was always full of sand. When the cleaners came round they always seem to know what they were doing and even asked us what to replace and where to clean however the results were always disappointing. (did not follow through with their promise). Multiple phone calls were made to reception regarding housekeeping and they always promise to help but never came through for example we asked for cleaners to come and clean again and they never showed. this was on many occasions and not just for cleaning. Another issue was the Wi-Fi it only allows up to 3 devices and if you wanted an extra device you had to pay more for charging such a big amount to stay at your hotel you don't least expect to receive unlimited Wi-Fi for as many devices as you like. Furthermore the bathroom does not contain ammentities such as a vanity kit or a shower ect.

House keeping is attrocious they do below the bare minimum. Upon arrival balcony, kettle, toaster, windows and carpets were filthy. We stayed for 6 nights day 3 they came to 'clean' but only changed bed sheets and towels, i complained following day and said id get the vip clean🤣 yeah right bathroom mirror windows balcony windows toaster i mean the lot still filthy! To make it worse the manager Adam makes excuses for housekeepings lazyness 'miscommunication'. So they came back cleaned the windows and balcony on our last day. The rest of the appartment still filthy and i'm sure wont be touched for the next people. Avoid this place at all costs so many other nice accomodation around just not worth your $

Location, location, location. A Woolworths literally on the door step, tram stop just down the street. So close to everything including the beach, and could walk everywhere.
Went with two children (12 and 14) who loved the heated indoor pool, outdoor pools and spa. Could see the SlingShot from the spa in the South tower which was good viewing.
Room probably due for a bit of a lift but no big issue. I also purchased my own loo paper once we ran out as well as dishwashing/clothes detergent. May have been able to ask at reception though - I didn’t. There isn’t any room service so needed to empty the bins and I also washed the bathroom towels to keep them fresh. Wifi also a bit sketchy (was free if you sign up as an Accor member - free).
Absolute bonus is the free car parking. It was a bit hard working out where you needed to park initially but worked it out and nil issues after that.
We were located on the 19th floor of the south tower and could hear the hustle and bustle on the street but not loud enough to worry us or interrupt sleep.
View absolutely incredible! We didn’t have ocean views but the lights were just amazing. With floor to ceiling windows, it really was beautiful viewing.
Based on location, the included facilities (pools/spa) as well as the view - I would highly recommend.

Overall great location, views, friendly staff and fully equipped room.
I do think wifi should be included in cost of room booking due to Netflix not working with resort wifi. You need to use either a chrome cast (not available to hire) or personal hotspot using your own data for Netflix access.

We have stayed several times at this hotel & we keep coming back. it is a very nice hotel in great location, so close to cavill avenue & ideal with woolworths supermarket underneath the hotel. We had a one bedroom ocean spa apt with fantastic view. it is well maintained & was happy with the condition of our apartment,
We stayed for 6 nights not really a complaint but feedback would be that they do not service the rooms only if you stay more than 7 nights? When we stayed prior to covid shutdowns they would refresh your rooms with clean towels & remove rubbish daily if staying under 7 days.. We understand so much staff is no longer employed, lets all work together to get jobs back for people particularly in hospitality, as they need more staff, the hotel was booked out. All the staff there was busy. Not enough lifts as hotel was full capacity apparently when I asked staff & the reception is no longer 24/7. Umbrellas are needed near the pool areas north & south tower & BBQ area too but I can understand maybe why they aren't there as one day the winds nearly blew us away, the wind got that strong one day that it dragged one of the steel framed lounge chairs nearly into the pool. the bed was comfy but they need better pillows. Great free parking you receive an allocated parking spot for your whole visit.
well done Mantra that's why we keep coming back

Dear L2099YQmaryr, We thank you for taking the time to provide valuable feedback following your recent stay with us, we are thrilled you enjoyed your experience. We truly appreciate your return custom and are pleased that you enjoy the property, it's facilities and our central location. We do appreciate your feedback regarding the customer service aspect and also the reception and housekeeping operation. A few years ago it was decided to omit daily housekeeping services from the apartments as they are fully self contained. Reception was also removed from 24 hour coverage due to the fact that we do have an after hours service available with team members onsite who can assist. The team and I look forward to welcoming you back to Mantra Circle on Cavill again in the near future. Warmest regards Damian Sillars General Manager Mantra Circle on Cavill

We booked an apartment through booking.com. When we arrived the reception advised our booking was made through a private agency (not the hotel itself).
The private agency was Gold Coast Holiday Services. Our room number was 1384.
Upon arrival, we had to call a number and wait for a lady who then took us to our room. We asked her for instructions to find our car park space. She said to drive around the car park until you find the parking space with our room number. So this is what we did. The car park is huge. After driving around for 30 minutes it became clear that there was no parking space numbered 1384. I called the Gold Coast Holiday Services office twice from the car park and they said they'd ring me back. I waited for a call back from their on call manager while we were sitting in our car in the car park. No phone call back was ever received. I eventually got through to the lady who took us to our room. She advised our car park space number is written on the paper she gave us. She didn't point this out to us when we asked for instructions to find the parking space because she didn't know. The entire process of moving our car into the parking space for our apartment took about 1 hour. Subsequently we missed our dinner reservation.
The carpet in the apartment is in bad shape and obviously hadn't been vacuumed. The carpet was covered in fluff and small bits of debris. I have never encountered anything like this while checking into a hotel that should have been cleaned beforehand.
The main double bed is awful and should be replaced immediately. We could feel the shape of the springs in the mattress. My husband and I slept in the other bedroom on the single beds because the main bed was so bad. No hotel room should contain a bed like this. It is completely unacceptable.
The view was great however three of the roller blinds were broken and could not be wound up.
The furniture is cheap and some of it is very badly damaged.
We found a half drank beer bottle under one of the lounges.
I really feel the situation with the cleaning should be addressed. Upon arrival the carpet should have been vacuumed. It appeared that the carpet had not been vacuumed in weeks.

Yes they have a washing machine and a dryer but they only give 2 lots of soap powder
I stayed for 5 weeks in June/July.First on 19th floor, then on 16th floor, when my daughter went home.No noise on 19th,as both were on the River side, a lovely view to the Hinterland.Little noise on the 16th,BOTH were in the South Tower,no parties there
Reception Staff were wonderful, any small requests very promptly attended too.Housekeeping too
I chose Circle on Cavill,as I have slight mobility problems.Woollies supermarket downstairs,with a Chemist,Doctors,and Radiology
I used all the above,as twisted my knee.SO glad I stayed there that time
Have had accommodation over the years, all over the Gold Coast,so it was the most convenient for me
Sorry for the late reply. I have never seen one in an apartment but I’m sure they would. You would have to check with housekeeping.
