This place is great. We are a couple that is local to this awesome place and we can't believe we have only just found it!. We are a straight couple may I add, 27 & 34. I initially made a telephone enquiry and spoke directly with Nathan, the manager, who explained that all adults from all walks of life are welcome providing they are nice and respectful towards others, to us this is not something you should have to make a conscious effort to do so we went first of all just to check it out and have a drink or two and ended up staying the night as we were treated so well by all the staff and just felt very welcome from the word go. We have stayed a couple more nights since then, benefitting from the same incredible experience. Basically the location is ideal, food and drinks amazing, all staff are awesome and go over and above to make you feel welcome and relaxed, We were introduced to all the staff and were on first name basis straight away, laughing and joking and being included in conversation and friendly banter from our first drink at the bar. The rooms we stayed in are right on the beach. We could watch the sunrise from our bed and then take about 30 - 40 steps down the beach to the ocean for a swim. Nathan and Julian are true masters in hospitality and in my opinion should set the standard for hospitality and customer service across Australia!. If you are in the hospitality industry and are having issues with customer service and customer satisfaction then take a leaf out of the "Turtle Cove Beach Resort" book and things will soon look up. I noticed that a very small handful of people have left negative reviews on here, I honestly believe that these few people have not left a good review for anywhere they have been ever because if you don't have a good experience at this place I cant see how you can have a good experience anywhere. Thanks heaps to Nathan, Julian and all the staff here and all the other nice people we met. We will come and see you again soon!. Tui & Craig

One of the most welcoming and friendly resorts.
Visited during in late January for the first time. It is the off season due to the weather being in it’s wet season however we only saw one moment of rain in the middle of the night, The weather ended up perfect.
The location is perfect between Cairns and Port Douglas with buses or car hire readily available from the airport.
The resort itself is beautiful with an open area bar with a gorgeous pool and spa area for everyone to mingle and make life long friends. Surrounding scenery is wonderful Australian native flora and fauna which the resort enclosed in its own ecosystem in its location. The beach is beautiful and pristine with a clothing optional side of the beach.

The thing that sets this apart from any other experience is the staff. When you arrive you are basically family.
Nathan and Julian the managers were extremely friendly and always checked in with us. Giving us great recommendations of where to go and what to do which did not let us down once.
Channing, Richard & Amy our regular bar staff were incredible. They were super fun and had a great sense of humour. They really know how to make it chill or make it a party!

Many, Many thanks,
John & Luke

See you again soon!

My friends and I stayed here over the Boxing Day period and had a fantastic experience and stay! We loved the outdoor pool/spa (stayed up until the early hours of the following morning). The staff are all welcoming and helpful, great management. Rooms were clean and spacious with lots of storage spaces. The restaurant served an amazing food menu with delicious cocktails from the bar.

Such a inclusive and warm environment! We all felt very relaxed with the management and other guests. Everyone had a great time definitely going back to have more fun on the pole and try some costumes on from the costume room!

Thank you! X

The positives first: The setting is stunning and the fellow guest were fun! The accommodation itself was a bit tired, particularly the bathroom could do with a bit more than a lick of paint. Around 250 AUD per night doesn't make it cheap either, loweing the value for money factor considerably. But what most annoyed us was the unprofessional and outright bad service (with the exception of the female member of staff, who understood principles of the leisure industry). Drinks were watered down, cocktails lacked some basic ingredients and were in some cases undrinkable. Food was nothing special, with the ready made desserts obviously sourced from a cheap discount supermarket. There was constant pressure to buy drinks ("We bought so much stuff, you have to buy one of these"), almost every 15 minutes we were hassled to buy more drinks, particularly those guest over 45 who were obviously seen as potential cash cows. The straw breaking the camel's back for me was the attempt to cheat by adding items to our bill that had neither been odered, nor consumed by us. When I complained about this I was accused of spoiling the party. "You are just a minority here" was the quote from the manager of this allegedly LBGTfriendly resort, I thought this was almost comical! After my protest, the bill was cleared of those falsely added item, but no apology or compensation was offered. "That's business" was another quote, used by the manager in reply to my complaints. Although we had paid for five nights, we decided to leave after two, wasting 750 AUD (approximately 450 Euro) because we didn't want our holidays spoilt by those money grabbing individuals who clearly overstepped the mark by attempting to cheat us. Guests are clearly split into two groups, one (mostly under 40) to be wooed and flattered, the other one (mostly over 45) expected to provide the fanancial base, by buying copious amounts of overpriced and badly crafted cocktails and other beverages, Surprisingly, the two groups got on quite well amongst each other, despite the obvious favouritism. This could be a great place, if it were not for a managemnt that appears pretty much self-índulgent and purely interested in short term gains. I fear, this is not going to last and we certainly won't shed a tear, once the ship sinks. We continued to have three fantastic nights in a nearby resort that is professionally run, cheaper, yet still provides accommodation that's at least two categories higher than Turtle Cove.

"Unprofessional an Self-Indulgent" is definitely a new review for us here at Turtle Cove Beach Resort. We provide a safe and "respectful" space for ALL "respectful Adults" here - along with a highly social resort. One thing we can't provide for our guests is the ability to fit in and/or be liked by other guests, this is out of our control and up to individuals. We from a service perspective obviously do our best to help all guests with this but can not be held accountable for your own actions. We are not some back alley bar that waters down our drinks, completely unfactual. Although we do have a beautiful "natural" water source, we have never and will never water down our drinks. FYI - you are in the tropics and ice does melt in a glass full of alcohol and mixers. Im sure you can appreciate this is a completely natural occurrence that is out of our control. I would also suggest not ordering more of the same drink over and over if it does not meet your individual standards. I would suggest trying other items on the menu next time you find yourself in this situation. Further to the aforementioned, You were never charged extra as no money was exchanged, a false accusation which is again completely unfactual. It's great to hear you found a space that you fit into and continued to have a great holiday up here in FNQ.

The crunch comes when it is time to settle your account. They don't provide you with an invoice which most other hotels do. You have to specifically ask for one and then they email it to you. We stayed over a long weekend and for that privilege they added on a 15% surcharge and once again they do it without telling you. It was only when I read the invoice that I requested that I noticed a public holiday surcharge had been added to food, drinks and accommodation. There was an email sent around to guests after arrival advising of the surcharge for food and drinks but no mention of accommodation surcharges. The accommodation charge was therefore higher than the charge quoted at the time of booking. Have written to them a number of times requesting a refund and each time they come up with a different reason. No name is ever added to the email some of which have a very nasty tone to them. They don't even seem to be able to understand that the reason I am disappointed is because they have not been upfront about the extra charges at the time of booking. Be transparent and let the customer decide whether to make the booking with the knowledge of what the price is going to be.

The room also did not match the room in their website photos in that it was missing the table and chair set proudly featured on their web page. The fan was filthy and they have at least apologised for that although no apology for the filthy light fittings.

The staff were great but the attitude of the onsite management is appalling. The owners really need to review the situation.

YES, we remember you my dear..... FACT; here are at least two links to our website that talk about surcharges on public holidays, all of which every other operating business does on the most expensive time of the year to be open https://turtlecove.com/about & https://turtlecove.com/adults-only-cairns-port-douglas-room-rates The email sent prior to your arrival proves the aforementioned by you is incorrect and factually untrue. ALL other guests respect the fact that we are not a family members back yard, we are a business that requires a profit line to survive. I would also like to remind you that in our email sent prior to arrival we also mentioned that we are only putting an 8% surcharge on food and beverage for our in-house guests. This was praised by ALL other guests and we were thanked by most. We cannot be held responsible for unsociable behaviour that leads to individuals becoming socially isolated by other in-house guests. We also cant be held responsible for loosing reading glasses left by the pool for more than 4 hours as guests come and go and outdoor furniture gets moved around. YES tiny little bugs get into the lights, welcome to the tropics! We also have gecko's that frequent our rooms too. We live in harmony with this because we respect our environment - we don't kill every little creature we see. Your other statements about your "deluxe" room is not factual so I won't bother. We welcome "respectful" adults here as we are a safe space for all minority groups. We will never be held responsible for unsociable behaviour that leads to individuals becoming socially isolated by other in-house guests. We are also very aware that 99% of our guests were happy with the entire weekend and that every now and then we have that allusive 1% that try's to king hit us post travel to shift blame of their own behaviour.

This was my second time at Turtle Cove this year! Arriving to a warm welcome from the Turtle Cove staff, icey cold pina coladas, delicious dinner and a beautiful room overlooking the ocean and gardens. This resort is everything you can imagine. Relaxation vibes throughout the day, private beaches, swinging in the hammocks while sipping your cocktails, tanning by the pool, eating delicious meals. The rooms are so lovely, modern and very clean... but with so much to offer out the door, you're only there for a siesta after your delicious meal! Then back out ready for the evenings events. We experienced Brazilian dancers, fire twirlers, a live band, a bonfire on the beach, beach club music and lounges only steps away from the bar and the amazing staff who are efficient, friendly and so happy! (I'm sure you can see why) ...Day trips to the Daintree Rainforest, snorkelled the Great Barrier Reef, lunching and shopping in Port Douglas. What else do you want??

When you come to Turtle Cove resort, you are not just paying for the stunning ocean views or the gorgeous pool complete with hot tub. You're not just paying for the professional staff to treat you like part of their family. You're not even just paying for the private, clothing optional beach access. You are paying for an EXPERIENCE! The absolute best part of staying at Turtle Cove is the feeling of inclusivity, that anyone can come here and feel welcome, that you can truly be yourself without fear of judgement. Thank you for having us and letting us be free! This place is heaven! As a bonus, you might be in for a treat if you see a cheeky pole show at the bar ;) Thank you Julien and Nathan x

It was our first time and we thoroughly enjoyed the resort. The private beach which is clothing optional is by far the greatest asset. We stayed in a Coral Sea King suite, roomy and with beautiful views of the corals sea and palms. Staff are very friendly and make everyone feel welcome. It is suited fo couples, singles and groups.

We recently stayed at Turtle Cove for 6 nights and had a great time. Nathan and Julien were friendly, welcoming and accomodating from the moment we arrived. The resort facilities are great with everything you’d need, and the 24 hour pool and spa were popular!

The included breakfast was great, and lunch and dinner options also quite good. Abby and Scott were always on hand to offer drinks from the bar with a smile.

Location is ideal as it’s so secluded with a private beach, but still only 15-20 min drive from Port Douglas or Palm Cove. We loved the friendly and social feel of the resort, with the “turtle table” being a popular place to have dinner and chat with other guests. We’ll be back!

It is hard to find words that capture the experience that is offered at Turtle Cove - Nathan and Julian are so beautiful, welcoming and go out of their way to make sure you feel right at home!

Aside from the fact that you're completely beachfront, have access to a private beach, pool and spa that never closes... the best staff you could wish for and a menu crafted by Chef Spud, infusing all of the delicate tropical flavours of FNQ... what is offered at Turtle Cove goes far beyond that.

The community atmosphere where everyone is known by name, people share meals together (and end up chatting until the early hours while sipping on magical espresso martinis...)... Where you feel completely free to be unapologetically you. This is the most incredible place to rest, recharge, unwind and connect with truly beautiful souls.

We miss you all already! Be back soon x
