For our long awaited Port Douglas trip, we stayed at the Nimrod Resort Apartments. What a great choice. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, which included everything you needed for a self catering stay. Each apartment has a washer and dryer, which was very handy. The beds were comfy and the bedrooms were spacious enough with staorage areas for your bags. The Nimrod has a lovely pool area which the kids made good use of. There are also BBQs and tennis courts and a basketball hoop. The grounds have very nice gardens (with butterfly attracting plants) and a relaxed tropical feel. Leanne and Gus are excellent and knowledable hosts, ready to assist you so you can have a fantastic stay. There is an IGA not far away so you can grab what you need to self cater. The Nimrod resort is on the quiet end of Port Douglas, which was very good for us. If you wanted to pop over to the busier areas it was a short drive.
We would definitely choose Nimrod again.

What a charming little place with a lovely pool and communal BBQ area. Apartments were all clean and modern with a view of the pool and gardens. Felt very safe and well looked after - early morning drilling was a bit unnecessary but all was forgiven as the price was good. Ideally need a car to get around but a lovely Italian restaurant was within walking distance to the apartments.

Great location walking distance to the wildlife centre, large supermarket and beach. Short drive to town and main beaches.
Pleasant accommodation and facilities - pool, gardens etc (look out for the Currawongs).
What sets Nimrod apart is Leanne and Gus. We had some usual requests and some unusual requests (such as recovering a kid's beloved item taken away with the linen..) and they couldn't have been more helpful with everything.
Really enjoyed our stay and wo uuld recommend highly.

The rooms were extremely dirty and full of cockroaches and when brought to manager Leanne’s attention I was completely ignored and disregarded. She is a very rude woman and would not get off the phone after 20 minutes to help me. The place is an absolute ripoff. Avoid at all costs.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. The couple at the front desk could not have been more helpful and were really friendly. They marked on a map all the places of interest and close places to eat. Our unit was such a welcome surprise, large and spacious and fully equipped with everything you need for a stay. The beds were so comfortable . We had tables and chairs outside to relax and have a drink. The pool was great and easily accessible. It is a little way out of town so is lovely and quiet and only about 10 minutes from Port Douglas. Its a short walk to the beach. I have no negatives for our stay and if I ever return I shall stay here again.

From the minute we walked in we were at home. Leanne & Gus could not do enough for us. Gus even drove us into town a few times until our hire car was available. I know this may all sound 'gushy' but its true. We've had some bad stays before and this definitely wasn't one of them. Yes, its a bit of a way out of town but relaxing, well appointed rooms, a bit outdated in some respects but clean with everything you need. BBQ round the pool, easy walk to a local pub and restaurant. Invite Gus for a beer by the pool and you won't be disappointed. The crazy this is that it was full all the time and yet we hardly heard or saw anyone. Quiet as.

Beautiful accommodation. Large, clean, well-equipped apartment. Huge balcony overlooking trees. Amazing huge resort pool. Good location. Friendly staff. Only let down was the mattresses were rather uncomfortable. Would certainly stay again.

Generous sized apartments that were clean and the kitchen well stocked with utensils. Plenty of balcony space. Convenient distance to IGA and a number of restaurants. The pool and BBQ area was great. Peaceful and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay in a 2 bedroom apartment recently. This resort is quite small so not a lot of people around, therefore it’s not really busy & very quiet & relaxing. Loved the tennis court, as I hadn’t picked up a racquet for a number of years. Leanne & Gus made you feel very welcome, were very friendly & helpful. Pool area was really nice, albeit the water a bit cold ! Could have been a few degrees warmer in there. Gardens were very well maintained. Rooms were clean & comfortable. A few appliances were dated & the curtains were a bit dirty. Loved the 2 balcony areas which were very spacious. Would recommend this resort to anyone. Not very close to the Main Street which might not suit everyone so you need to drive in, but all in all a lovely place to stay ! 😃☀️🌴
