We arrived at the Park 3 months ago at the start of the Tourist season worrying whether we could park our caravan and live in it while house was being built . We were not very successful as we also have a little old dog. We stumbled across this beautiful park set amongst the rain forest and opposite the Baron River. We were greeted by the lovely Sue who could not have been more welcoming. She was glad to have us even though we didn’t have a set departure date. We picked the perfect site with beautiful trees and afternoon sun shade. We instantly settled in with a beautiful cafe and bar and happy hour 3 nights a week!!! The amenities were beautiful and modern and very clean, the grounds were kept beautiful and the gardener was very friendly and fabulous at his job he kept our site manicured 😀We cannot thank staff and management enough and would highly recommend this park for a perfect holiday destination. Wishing you all the very best 🙌

We stayed this year for July / Aug.
The Park is very well maintained, by the 2 lovely, friendly groundsmen, who do a great job with the gardens , bins and assisting those who need a hand backing their vans.
The amenities blocks are also kept extremely well maintained and a clear clean swimming pool.
There is also lovely clean and usable camp kitchen.
The Cafe is great for a coffee or even a cocktail and some food.
Ruth in the office is a delight , she had been extremely helpful when we first enquired about a site, and always very friendly to everyone she spoke to either over the counter or on the phone , she is a true asset to this park.
One thing I would like to see is some more sun loungers by the pool .
Can't wait to be back in 2023.

Ruth is wonderful and still here, the cafe has improved in leaps and bounds and the coffee with the waffles go down a treat. We got 9 more sunlounges and a shade over half the pool for sumnmer so we hope you do return soon. Safe travels

Peaceful van park, in tropical surroundings. Can take a casual stroll to the lake across the road.

Beautiful Italian restaurant next door and little general store within walking distance.

Is a fair hike from Cairns city, but perfect if you don't want the hustle and bustle.

Major shops about a 10 minute drive. About 20 minutes to Plam Cove.

The 2 bedroom villa has a separate toilet from the small bathroom. One of the bedrooms is sectioned off with a curtain. Air con in main room and lounge. There is a kitchen, minus a stove, but does have a grill. Full kitchen facilities. Lounge, dining table and TV also available

Pool available on site. Highly recommend

Clean, large amenities with baby bath and full length mirror. The shower cubicles were small making it impossible to not wet the dressing area. A mop was provided to clean the showers after use but no water in the bucket to rinse the mop! Decent and basic camp kitchen. Two large kitchen sinks with hot water although one sink was squished into a corner. We had no TV reception due to being surrounded by hills on three sides. There were no plugs in the laundry tubs. Plenty of room in the laundry for sorting clothes. I liked that part of the clothesline was sheltered so I could dry my bath towel overnight or if it rained. The biggest downside was that they made the hand dryer non-functional every day from 2200-0700 and there was no paper towel to compensate. They think one doesn't go to the toilet during the night?? Another annoyance was the loud screaming of the bush stone-curlew bird at night time. They were seen following people around the caravan park so clearly guests were feeding them, encouraging them to hang around. The caravan park is some distance from the centre of Cairns and we chose to stay here only because it was close to the Skyrail terminal. It cost $43 per night for a powered site; cheaper than a lot of other caravan parks when most are in excess of $50 per night. I would be reluctant to stay here again and instead test out a cheaper option closer to the city centre that I had initially chosen but was scared away from because of some negative reviews given that we would be staying for four nights.

Good Afternoon Rhonda Hill, We thankyou for your review and some of the things we can fix, but we prefer that if you have a problem or issue or even a question about things we can try to advise or sort out. Any of the issues you had concerning missing plugs or tv reception etc. we can fix. Plugs are replaced all the time they seem to walk off often but let us know and we will replace, TV aerials are lent out to anyone that wants one at no charge. The Hand dryers are on a timer as they are noisy and we have done this so people camping near the amenities have a little down time at night so they don't complain about the noisy hand dryers. The Curlews are everywhere in North Queensland and we don't encourage anyone to feed them and 1 in particular (Colin named by guests) likes following dogs around the park. We are close to the Sky Rail and 15klms from the city centre, we can not do anything about the distance from the city??. You forgot to mention that you had booked online for 3 nights and on arrival we offered you the 4th night and as you were a G'Day Member and had not booked through the G'Day Member Site that we would give you your G'Day discount even though we didn't have to do this - off the whole 4 nights saving you $17.20 and making the 4th night only $25.80. I did have a quick look at your other reviews and it seems you have not had the best trip. But I'm sure many of the parks you have reviewed would all prefer that the guest come and tell us if there was a real problem. Safe Travels Rhonda & Lourance.

We’ve stayed for two nights at Daintree Bunglow. Great price for two nights with aircon, shower, toilet etc. Great location to Skyrail and train station for Kuranda scenic train.

Very quiet and comfortable staying. We’ve enjoyed the view when in the swimming pool.

Very clean amenities. Highly recommended.

Altho wifi and your phone access to internet when in the bunglow is not too good, it is still great spot to stay couple days when you plan to visit tourist spots around.

Dirt and mould in bathroom
No cooktop only microwave even though there is a saucepan in a the cupboard. Terrible mattress so hard and could feel the springs NOW my hip and neck are now out of alignment and I have to pay for a chiropractor. This ‘cabin’ cost $105 - I would have had a good nights sleep in a quality hotel room because with the cost of the chiropractor I would have ‘saved’ money in the end and had a decent sleep and no pain.

Responded 3 Sept 2021
Hello Jill, I was so taken back by your response, I had to go and check out this cabin and talk to the Guests that arrived the day after you left to make sure all was ok. The cooktop was in the cupboard under the microwave. It is a 2 plate electric cook top that is put out of the way until needed but It was easy to find. The guests in there now arrived Friday Morning, (you left Thursday) say it has been the best nights sleep on their trip. (even though it was only a double bed). The Guests said the cabin was very clean and I asked especially about the bathroom (not wanting to intrude too much) and her comment was - it was very clean and it didn't appear to be mould but being old, was discolored. Of course all beds do not suit everybody but in the 3 months I have been here as New Managers we have never had anyone complain about the hardness of the bed and I myself have slept in a similar cabin next door and 2 of the cottages and feel the beds are more than comfortable. But everyone is different in terms to types of beds they prefer. New guest cannot feel springs? You didn't mention any of these problems on check out and I wish you could have done so as I would have personally checked the cabin out with you while you were here. Safe Travels

We have been looking for our usual spot in Cairns - The Big 4, Crystal Cascades - as they started to be a bit arrogant towards "no grey nomads" and found this spot. Coming back now the second time in a year we really like the place. Sites big enough, pool decent, amenities old but clean and all for reasonable pricing. The lawn could have some more attention to become as lush green as the surrounding area. This is why 4 not 5 points - room for improvement 😁

Good Afternoon Sagomir, We thankyou for 4stars and we are happy you like our spot. At the moment we are renovating our Villas and next year the 2nd amenity block which you must be speaking about will be the next on the list for upgrades. This Park changed ownership and management with that change in April this year and we have been extremely focused on upgrading the park but whilst we have been extremely busy it is hard to get to everything at once. Have you checked out the 1st Block which is newly renovated prior to the ownership change. Green Grass, while we love having the lush green grass which will come soon with a bit more rain we are mindful of the water restrictions as well, plus the sites have been very busy and getting any water on individual sites is also a challenge when arrivals and departures on sites occur daily. The wet season is nearly upon us so we don't wish to water too much, as we will have other problems that comes with too much water. Thankyou for your time in giving us your feedback though, very much appreciated. Regards Sue
