Fairly standard service and room stay, rooms are not serviced daily however you can collect fresh towels from reception. We did book and pay extra for a room on the esplanade side and although we weren't on the pool side, our room was looking over the university and McDonalds - so you might need to be specific if you are wanting a room on the esplanade for the views. At the cost of the rooms, we will try somewhere else in Cairns next time.

A friend and I stayed here for 2 nights and then a night away and then back for 4 nights.
Location is perfect, the wifi was good and my beds were comfortable.
My disappointment was when we checked in my friend was advised an upgrade to a one bedroom unit from hotel room and my one bedroom upgraded to an Esplanade view. Not having the paperwork on me I hadn’t realised until I looked later that in fact I had booked and paid for Esplanade view. So that was disappointing. Also having asked to be on the same floor we were on different floors. The dining furniture in my room was awful, brown, scratched and in part broken. For $420 a night I could have nearly bought furniture from IKEA which would have looked better. Also the curtains in my room and my friends were off the hooks. I don’t think it unreasonable to expect that not to be the case.
Second visit again my friend was upgraded to a one bedroom but we were on the same floor this time. The furniture was definitely better although my friend said her bed not comfortable but as we were checking out saw a lot of new mattresses being delivered so maybe that problem would be taken care of.
I was also very surprised that if you want your room cleaned if staying for a short stay you have to pay $40 which after paying such a pretty high price for the room is really not acceptable. I am happy to reuse my towels and empty my garbage but I’m not sure how I’m expected to clean the floor with no vacuum cleaner. I pity the cleaner who has to clean up after a multiple occupancy of a few days.
I am a gold member but I was asked to pay for a late checkout until I mentioned that and no free drinks which I thought was included.
As I said lovely location and I would consider staying again if in Cairns but would probably try somewhere else.

Close to the Esplanade, the marina and pier, shops and restaurants. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable. Shower was hot, although over the bath, which is hard for people with limited mobility. The pool was constantly in shade and water was freezing, including the spa. This was a big disappointment, as we were in Cairns to get away from the Winter cold. More could be done for recycling by having a container in each room, rather than a rubbish chute, where everything was thrown ( including glass bottles by some very inconsiderate people at 4 am) Avoid room 20 as it’s right next to the chute. Staff were helpful and friendly.

What a disappointment. We booked this hotel through our travel agent. We were assured that the hotel was 4 star. However I wouldn’t even give it a 2 star rating. We stayed in room 337 completely outdated furniture, nothing like the photos. The reception staff that checked us in and the manager were all understanding when we raised concerns. The hotel itself needs a serious update. The room itself was filthy. We booked 6 nights here and left to move to another hotel after the first night. There were hairs everywhere, all over the bed and bathroom etc. Dust and grime in all corners of the room. Furniture damaged, blood on the toilet roll and on the curtains. We advised our travel agent we would be checking out the following day and twice we had staff walk into our room prior to checking out. One of which was rude mentioning she was informed about us leaving in a “huff”.
Not to mention the room only gets cleaned once every 7 days, you have to ASK reception for toilet roll and fresh towels. WiFi is not free! You have to pay per day for this service. No safe and the fridge might as well be a freezer as it froze our water. Is that normal for a 4 star hotel??
The location is however great. But I shall not be stepping foot here again.

Booking was rearranged from 1 bedroom apartment to a hotel room by staff at Mantra Esplanade to allow for apartment owner to stay even though I requested an apartment with walk in access to shower as my mother has very limited mobility and was assured the only 1 bedroom aptmt with walk in shower would be reserved for us. Prior to booking, I called the hotel to ask if they had an apartment with walk in shower as my mother had limited mobility and cannot step into bath shower. I was told they did and to book online through my ACCOR membership, make a note in reservation requesting walk in bathroom then call hotel back which I did. The hotel reception (same person) told me she had allocated us the only 1 bedroom apartment that had walk in shower access and had made a note about this on their reservation system. Two days before our stay was to commence the hotel called and said they had just seen my note requesting the above mentioned room however the owner would is still using the room so for the first 2 days of our stay we would have to stay in a hotel room, no walk in shower!! I explained that i had requested and was told we could have the only 1 bedroom apartment with walk in shower by the hotel. This was dismissed by the receptionist, I then had to again request for at least a hotel room with walk in shower!!!! Duh, were you even listening to me??? When i stated this mix up was the hotel's fault not mine i was offered a refund, this was not an option as I had already paid $1700+ for 6 nights and would not be able to find another affordable property due to increase in hotel prices at the time. I then had to request a refund for difference in pri e of motel room and apartment. Wasrefunded $30 so then had to again request the correct amount of diffetence for two nights and was eventually refunded the difference! The hotel room was disgraceful, (room 407) very small with old scratched and dated furniture as well as scrape and scuff marks over walls and door. Apartment (305) was nice however had to clean the kitchen bench, fridge and microwave when we got there as were dirty and had small bits of food scraps throughout. Absolute disgrace and definately not worth the money.

Avoid unless you want to hear a jackhammer and heavy construction noise beside your room! We booked a 1 bed esplanade view apartment with Agoda for 4 nights and upon checking in I asked if we could have the same room for our entire stay of 6 nights and I was happy to pay extra to upgrade the other 2 nights. We were put into a city view 1 bed apartment which wasn’t the room we had booked and on the second day of our stay we were awoken to heavy construction noise in the apartment next door. They were jackhammering up tiles and the noise was deafening. After several hours of this we called down to reception then went to speak with them. They assured us the noise would be one day only and offered us a coffee voucher as compensation. I complained that the noise was unacceptable and strongly believe no paying customer should be put next door to that noise and also raised that I was unhappy that we didn’t get the room we paid extra for to have the esplanade view. The manager asked me to send the confirmation email from our booking to confirm as he said that the city view room was booked in their system. We eventually were offered a room change from the next day but they had asked us to pay an upgrade fee even though I had proof I had paid for 4 nights in this room type and 2 nights in the lower category which we had been put into. I didn’t think this was fair but the manager was blaming the third party booking. We would have stayed in the lower category room and not complained except for the noise disturbance which continued for the next several days despite his advice it would be only a day. The room we moved into was so much nicer and more modern but we could still hear the renovation noise which seemed to be happening on every floor of the hotel. I have stayed at Accor properties all over the world and I’ve never encountered such bad customer service and expecting us to pay again more to stay in a room we have already paid for and provided irrefutable proof of this. It has really turned me off staying in any Accor properties in the future if this is how you treat the guests and loyal customers of many years. The rooms next door to the renovations should be closed off from being booked, it’s not fair on guests to have to be woken up by extreme noise and be treated rudely when they complain about it.

Room was clean upon arrival but not to have your room served for the 6 days we were there is a but much. Putting wet towels outside your door for pick up isn’t a good look. We could get fresh towels, coffee, tea and milk from reception but don’t ask for crockery or a knife not possible. After flight cancellation we tried to stay another nigh but the price went up so dramatically that we went another hotel.

Nice property and location 3 bedroom unit was spacious and had great views. Property could use some updating - knob to shower door fell off, was able to screw it back on. Blinds would only go up on one side of the master bedroom. Stayed in Sydney and Melbourne before coming here and properties there were more accommodating regarding check out time. It’s 10:am at this property with no flexibility A few members of our party stayed at the Hilton down the block. If you don’t need an apartment style room it’s a much better value and they’re more flexible with a later check out.

Mantra esplanade is located in a central position which is great if you don't have a car. You will have direct access to the lagoon pool on the esplanade and range of resturaunts/supermarkets. The staff at mantra are amazing and friendly. Our son accidentally left his shoes behind and they were able to locate and ship them back to us in a timely manner.
Unfortunately the hotel is let down by its upkeep. For a 4 star hotel and $360 a night it was not worth the money. The room itself was relatively clean and the beds comfortable but that was let down by ripped and stained blinds, holes in walls that had not been patched as well as a huge pile of dust that had not been cleaned for sometime above the mirror. Much of the furniture was worn scratched and dated and this made the room appear cheap.
We did enjoy our stay based on the location of the hotel but would recommend an update to maintain customer satisfaction.

Probably one of the best location in downtown Cairns. Close to the Night Markets, Ferry Terminal and right across from the Esplanade along with other amenities. Upon check in we were served by Mr. Cunha and his associates. They were all friendly and professional, making the stay really pleasant. The only thing we hoped to be made available as standard was the daily room cleaning service as opposed to the pay-per-use cleaning services. Otherwise, a really fine stay.

Yes you can as long as you get in touch by email or phone and explain the situation. Given it takes approximately nearly an hour from the time the plane is due to land and the time you get to the Hotel you should be OK. Just get in touch with them.
