We stayed at the GCB for the second time recently and my wife and I came away very pleased with the experience. Being so close to the city was fantastic, the facilities were great and the staff were a credit to what is clearly well oiled machine ... thanks so much.
TV didn't work in the room. My room was right next to an elevator and you could hear every time someone used it. Food in the restaurant was great but had some problems with the service. Waited over an hour due to a mistake by the waitstaff.
Hotel well situated, near the city center; in a green environment. Everything was possible by foot. Hotel comfortable, rooms well equipped. Breakfast buffet was too expensive (40$/pers). Btw all possibilities near the hotel. Parking available for 20$/night.
The location, price, food, parking, service, cleanliness, everything about this motel was excellent. Right across from Roma St Parklands so an early morning walk there is refreshing. Will be my new go to motel in Brisbane.
The hotel is in a great location. Just far enough from the city so that it was easy to get in and out of by car. but still walk-able to restaurants and shops. The good: $10 voucher each day to use at the restaurant if you didn't want your room cleaned (they will replenish the amenities) The location Most rooms have a balcony Roof top pool and gym Underground parking (for a $20 a day) Food and coffee were really good from the restaurant The bad: I was on the 11th floor and could still hear noise from the road as well as people in the hallways and rooms next door. It wasn't enough to bother me too much, but noticeable I had a room with a balcony but there wasn't any furniture on the balcony?? Unable to turn off the tv and reception was useless for helping so I had to turn off the power point by climbing up on the desk and reaching around the tv mounted on the wall. Really small t.v. - I used my laptop for entertainment The service was not that of a 4 star hotel, staff needs more training and they may have been understaffed Parking garage was pretty tight if you have a large vehicle…
Overall its fair value for the price. But the hotel is a fair walk uphill from the city centre so location wise its not ideal. Bit dated but understandable after two years of covid. F&B options limited to one restaurant that was full, resorted to in room dining, bit pricey given small serving. No information offered at checkin though I was from out of state.
Loved the staff at Frescos bar and cafe. Friendly and pleasant service. Friendly and efficient cleaning staff The room, the reception and the manager woe-full at best. A very disappointing experience.
Hotel is fine, friendly service, good comfortable room just a bit too far from the CBD when you arrive on foot, especially as it is an uphill walk. Bathroom is the best I have seen for a while, and the shower is excellent.
A fabulous seafood dinner with a luxurious sleep to follow in a beautiful room with great views over Roma street parklands and Brisbane at night. I would suggest you have the additional grazing platter and wine added to the cost of your stay as it was well done and a great way to start a relaxing night off.
The overall experience was a nice place to stay in. The staff was friendly and polite and when I needed things done with a smile on their face. The room service was quick and very good meals and the food was hot and lovely.
