Meriton Suites Herschel Street, Brisbane, is widely celebrated for its spotless, modern rooms, which provide a comfortable stay in a prime location close to key attractions, as noted by numerous travelers. While the staff receives accolades for their friendliness, some guests have experienced service hiccups. The well-maintained facilities and room cleanliness receive high marks, although a few visitors mention noise disturbances.
The hotel's value is a point of contention, with praise for the room quality but criticism over additional costs. Amenities are generally appreciated, but there are occasional comments about the pool's temperature.

After a very friendly welcome at the reception late in the evening I was positively surprised by the suite I got on the 15th floor. It was spacious, had all I needed and a good view past some highrises to Brisbane river. The kitchen was well equipped and I liked the fact there was also a washing machine and a clothes dryer. All fine with the bathroom too. Even if looking very hard, there wouldn't have been anything to complain about.
When I left in the morning to have breakfast and coming back right after, the suite had been serviced already. Cleanliness was anyway another strong point of the place. There are several small cafés and snack bars for breakfast and light lunches around the accomodation. Dinner options are a bit limited, but central Queen Street is a short walk away, so is Brisbane river for exploring the South Bank during the day.
What I especially enjoyed was the big indoor swimming pool with an adjacent hot water whirlpool, a garden terrace and a fitness center. Checkout - as in many places in Australia - is at 10am, which is a bit early, especially if one has an evening flight. Here though I could leave my luggage with the reception and when coming back from walking around the city, I was given a towel, shower gel and shampoo for wash and change by the fitness center.
On my month long tour, using 14 different 4 to 5 star hotels, the accomodation here was my favourite, besides that it also was the one with the greatest value.

My husband and I booked at Meriton for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Upon our very early arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by very well groomed, polite and friendly staff. We were fortunate enough to be allowed to check-in early. The security of the hotel is fantastic. Your key card allocates a lift and knows your floor. We felt very safe here. The Suite was AMAZING. The staff had placed a bottle of bubbly in the fridge and left a lovely handwritten card wishing us good wishes for our anniversary. The suite was very spacious, with a separate bedroom, laundry, bathroom and powder room area, together with a complete kitchen with microwave and dishwasher. I have previously worked in a hotel so I am fussy with cleanliness but the suite was SPOTLESS. The location was perfect with easy walks to Southbank, the Queen Street Mall, restaurants and Roma Street Railway Station. Woolies was just around the corner for any items you needed. During our entire stay, we were always greeted at the front desk as we walked past. We cannot say enough about this hotel and loved our five days in Brisbane. We look forward to travelling there again and staying with Meriton. Well done.

‘Ello chaps!
Meriton Suites is Australia’s largest apartment developer. Most of their buildings offer spacious suites and sweeping views of the city they’re in.
Meriton Suites on Herschel Street great location as it is just a short walk from Queen Street Mall and across the bridge from the 7News Ferris Wheel, Streets Beach, and other attractions.
If you’re coming from the airport, you’ll want to take the Air Train from Brisbane Airport (about a 20 minute ride) and get off at the Roma Street exit. From there it’s a very short (less than 10 minute) walk from the train platform to the hotel lobby. Even with luggage is a quick and simple walk.
Infinity Tower as its called is also the tallest building in Brisbane, giving sweeping views of the city. The extra few dollars for the top floor is well worth it. There’s nothing like a suite on Floor 70.
For early check in, staff is very accommodating, providing a space to change clothes and to leave your bags if your room isn’t ready.
TIP: If you’re an American tourist you love your ice, well no worries because they have an ice machine on property. All you have to do is ask for a few bags of ice.
The rooms themselves are fantastic, offering spacious living room and kitchenette space as well as spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The staff is very friendly and the stewards do a great job at cleaning the rooms.
Overall I give Meriton five stars out of five.

The Meriton Suites Brisbane is in a great location with a 10 minute walk to both Southbank for amazing dining and riverside entertain, or the Queen Street CBD shopping distrcit. Other than the location, the suites themselves were underwhelming. The standard suite suffered from a lack of polished touches that are standard with a quality hotel. We stayed in room 606 and the bedside lights needed to be wiggled to work, the shower leaked drastically and there were chunks missing out of the roof. Add to this the cramped space available (nowhere to set down a suitcase) and what was advertised in the photos on the site, the Meriton Suites Herschel Street really missed the mark.
Compared to their Gold Coast counterpart, this hotel did not exude the same standard or quality and felt more catered to the onsite residence tenants. The strangeness began with taking a lift to the lobby from the car park before being able to access the lift to your suite. The gym strangely had a fully stocked vending machine full of all the sugary badness you're trying to work off which was a bit odd and this could have been rectified by stocking protein bars/shakes instead of Cadbury's finest. The pool facility was based on the first floor and really lacked any substance and you'd have had a better time in a bath. If it's a relaxing room with finesse and a decent atmosphere to come back to you might want to overlook this one.

We arrived on a early morning flight and took an Uber from the airport, check in was from 2pm but we got there around 10am and although the room wasn’t ready we could leave our luggage and use the toilets to freshen up. The reception said they would call when we could check in. We walked into the city an easy 10/15 minute walk. Beautiful city clean and vibrant. Hotel called at 11.30 and we went back to a lovely apartment with river views, clean, modern, very helpful staff, and a great location. Plus the Cafe next door did lovely breakfasts. Also a shop close by for essentials.
We would definitely return.

Meriton on Herschel street will elevate you beyond your usual standard of luxury stays. Her ‘altitude suites’ will literally raise you to a high level that promotes extraordinary views, combined with great space & quality furnishings. Meriton does what hotels cannot, by providing a point of difference, they deliver more than you need. The study nook in the 2 bedroom suites is the perfect accompaniment to finish reading or writing that book. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom to ensure its residents are well catered for. With a kitchen, dining & lounge area that opens out onto Brisbane’s skyline you will be spoilt by the postcard images as they present from sunrise to nightfall. Opposite the Courts, it is an easy stroll from your suite into the heart of the shopping precinct & entertainment districts. Meriton always manages to ‘raise your altitude’, I recommend you experience her luxury today.

A great location with some breath taking views and roomy modern apartments (although some of the soft furnishings a bit worn and showing their age), however a few things that needs some serious attention.
Being serviced apartments I understand that there is an express room service every day, but when its so express that the sheets are just pulled up and not even tucked in and the towels are left on the dining room table there's something not quiet right. A house keeping supervisor did come back with the staff who made up the room and put it right, and it was good after that, but clearly there was a training and supervision issue with some of your staff. Also the common areas of the floor aren't regularly vacuumed, at least on the level we were on. It took mentioning it 3 times to reception to get the wrappers, coffee grounds etc to be cleaned up in the passageway. The other issue was the member of staff who walked into the room unannounced at 9am on our last day without so much as a knock. He quickly retreated when he realised the room was still occupied as he opened the door, but once again it appears there is a communication on training issue with the staff.
Then there's the lifts... I have never encountered lifts any slower in any other property, from what I heard from one of the staff the issues have been ongoing for some time and not fixed. One night they completely broke down leaving guests queued back almost to the front door, took about 40 minutes to get back to the room.
Also the spa and steam room were out of order, a few weeks back I would have said COVID restrictions, but the spa was clearly signed to allow up 2 two people under the restrictions so this also appeared to be an unresolved maintenance issue.
I've stayed at another Meriton many times and had a really great experience every time and I think this property could be the same if the issues were sorted out with staff training and maintenance which is clearly not being performed.
I would really love to see some effort put in to bringing this property up to its potential as I do think it could be a great place to stay and we probably just got a really bad run that isn't typical for all guests. I hope you'll take the feedback on board and it will help the service to get better so next time it is a memorable experience in a good way.

I do apologies that your stay wasn't up to the standards that we pride ourselves, We will be working closely with the Housekeeping department so that the disappointments you have raised aren't replicated in the future. Unfortunately, during your stay, our lifts for the attitude suites did experienced technical issues and caused significant delay. We worked very closely with the lifts company and resolved the issues within a few days. Rest assured this is only a isolated incident and it is highly unlikely that will happen again. Meriton Suites offer well kept, spacious comfort with very well equipped kitchenettes that provide the essentials often forgotten in other apartment style hotels. I'm talking about things like sharp knives, sieves/colanders, coffee pods.
The staff actually read and then do their best to meet special requests. They were having some housekeeping staffing issues because Brisbane is getting busy again, but they were responsive and tried to put things right when notified.
We enjoyed our Modern Suite and loved the view of Brisbane River. We will definitely return as the location is perfect, next to Roma Street Air train station and Kurilpa Bridge which is a shared pedestrian/cycle pathway over to Southbank and the Galleries.

My wife and I got caught in Australia after NZ closed the border preventing us from catching a flight to Canada. We needed nine days in Brisbane before the next flight we could get home. The Meriton was a great place to self-isolate. A kitchenette, laundry and separate bedroom made for comfortable quarters. The hotel staff understood our needs so brought fresh towels and toiletries as required. The kitchenette was well stocked for cooking, including an oven, kettle and toaster. Setting the covid isolation aside, this was an excellent facility.

I need a solid internet connection for work, but in the 8 nights we stayed here the internet was so slow and many times not working that I had to pay an extra $40 to purchase data through my phone provider. Many times we couldn't browse the news or check email, it was just dead. We asked if the internet was down and was told it was but that it shouldn't affect guests. It did and was very costly. This hotel cannot be recommended for business travelers due to this.
The room itself was good. The room was really lovely actually. The location was great also. I thought the room was practical and perfectly laid out, I really enjoyed returning to the room each day. Front staff were wonderful too.
Housekeeping could be more mindful of replacing things like the washing liquid as this wasn't replaced once during our stay so we had to purchase extra to wash our clothes. one day the towels were removed but not replaced with any others. We had to constantly call downstairs for housekeeping to bring basic things. Some days by 3pm our room hadn't been cleaned and we were back in there so had to give it a miss.
The pillows were awful and would flatten overnight. 1 pillow ids too flat and 2 is too high. I ended up having to put a cushion from the lounge into the pillowcase with the pillow as to not wake up with a sore neck. The 4 pillow options on the bed were essentially the exact same pillow so offer no difference. I will probably never travel again without bringing my own pillow due to how badly both my husband and I slept on these.
We stayed for 8 nights, from Christmas night till Jan 2nd, you'd think given our lengthy stay maybe we'd be prioritised for a room with a river view over NYE, but we had a view of the building next to us. When I checked the site when booking, a river view is'tn an option in the booking process so I guess it's luck of the draw. We weren't staying in the lowest entry room type either. It was just disappointing that longer staying guests aren't prioritised for the river view rooms.

Hi Tanya. To maintain safety and security, a swipe card/room key is required to access the suite floors of the building. We do have staff available 24 hours a day to assist with providing access for your family if you arrange it with our team during your stay.
Our stay was a joint celebration/birthday treat for my daughter & her friend, admittedly the spa was also closed, but we assumed this was due to Covid restrictions. It would be best to email the Meriton directly as they will provide you with accurate & up-to-date information. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did 💜🌹
