Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at Shangri La Gardens one night pre cruise and one post cruise. It was a 20 minute taxi ride to both the airport and the cruise terminal. The room was spotless, bed comfortable and a breakfast package supplied. Even able to supply me with a gluten free. Colin and Wendy were great hosts. Shopping center, choice of eateries and public transport close by. Would certainly stay here again.

We had a business workshop here and all were very impressed with the standard of service that was delivered by the staff. The rooms are part of an older building that has been refurbished a number of times. It has that old world charm that just makes you feel comfortable. Food was great and served on time. In the gardens there are many little secluded areas that look just wonderfull.

Stayed here overnight following a conference on site. Fantastic service; friendly staff, good conference facilities. I was very impressed with the King shower motel room; spacious, spotlessly clean, big comfy bed, well equipped bathroom. Used the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast, and recommend it highly. Turkish Bread and a delicious Chicken Supreme for dinner, and a yummy omelette for breakfast. This place is a hidden gem.

The food & service in Sylvia's restaurant is first class, the atmosphere is lovely, the staff attentive but not over the top, everyone is really pleased to see you & to serve you, their wine nights are spectacular, a great place for us bay siders or anyone in Brisbane.

So, I’m a “Hotel Guy”.... I like good hotels and city locations . The last motel I stayed at was 15 years ago in a country town (and was decorated in the 70s).... BUT.... the Shangri-La Gardens might have just changed that ... The rooms are well appointed and large hotel style rooms , comfortable , Airconditioned and nicely finished . Sylvia’s restaurant does a good cooked breakfast with a few side choices of juice and cereals. So, what’s it like ? It’s like a hotel room that you can park in front of ... Will I be back ? Yes I will.
So maybe now I’m a “Hotel & Shangri La Guy “....

This was a great place to stay. I was there for 2 nights. The nearby shopping centre has everything you need within walking distance. The hotel has its own restaurant, pool and laundry for guests to use. All the staff were wonderful. The whole hotel was very clean and modern. The rooms are a great size and very comfortable. Free Wi-Fi available, however, there is a download limit.

Thank you for your most welcome review. We appreciate that you identified all the great features of our venue and we trust you will stay with us again. You mentioned limitation to the free wifi. We offer a considerable allocation, however ask our guests to be mindful of their usage allowing others to access this service as well. Thank you.

I stayed overnight after a conference in Brisbane - this assuming hotel was great. The service was second to none -everything from being offered a glass of wine from the owner whilst waiting in reception to the beautifully prepared omelet from the chef - I felt so welcome

Thank you Felicity. I really appreciate your positive comments. Travelling isn't all its "cracked up" to be, so we take pleasure in trying to make your stay as welcoming and comfortable as we can. Hopefully you may get to try an evening meal with us next time. Robbie's omelettes are fab, we will pass your comment on to her. Thank you once again for taking the time to write a review with TripAdvisor, it is highly valued
