Detailed Reviews
Our steak meal in the Spanish Garden was OK but certainly not good value at $40 for steak, potato and salad. In my opinion this venue relies on its reputation as the place to dine but does not deliver. The Spanish Garden has virtually the same decor/layout for the past 40 years with maybe only some roofing enhancements. Staff are friendly and efficient but difficult to pinpoint the reason for the venue's ongoing popularity with patrons over many years.

When ordering your entree and main meals , one would expect that the entree would come first then wait about 20 min for mains ?? but no all food came out together for all 4 of us , making it very uncomfortable to eat on a small table for 4 , with so much food on the table .And basically having to rush our entree down that our mains wouldn't get any colder . Mentioned this to the waitress that brought out the food and she just shrugged her shoulders .

My friend and I frequented BC Hotel for food, drink and little play at games room few years, our Friday night haunt, however, due to work, moving and family chaos, had not been there nearly over 4 years. During our previous visit, food was excellent, whether snack, entry or main, also dine at Spanish Garden restaurant, all great food and very tasty. We were happily line up to order the food and choose the meat and had lovely grilled fish dish.. etc.. However, last visit on 24/06 with family for birthday celebration was much disappointment, what ever happen to the food, very blend & typical 'pub food' category. Other differences was the price height. I understand we are trying very hard to recovered from Covid 2 years and consumer index went extremely high. However, it the food is so good, nothing to look at the price we paid. It is a shame as BC is the iconic place for 'the best steak'.. !!

I have been coming to the Breakfast Creek Hotel for many years, but unfortunately I don't think I will come back. We had a family function of 17 people and the service was not good. We had to stop staff to ask for drinks and also for someone to take our food orders. I had a chicken caesar salad and the chicken was so fatty that it was almost inedible. The majority of the family enjoyed their meals though. But the thing that did it for me was the one bill per table. In this day and age, surely they could use an iPad to take and pay for individual orders like other pubs and taverns do. As the majority of our table were couples, the sorting out after the bill was paid was a real headache. Our order was around $1000 so it was painful. It would have been more than this amount if waitstaff had have attended our table. We will be seeking another venue for our next family function.

Arrived 11am for our 11.30am booking, Sunday 22Nov220. Friendly staff on entry. Asked for a shady, breezy spot and we were directed to exactly that for a table for two. Bar staff were knowledgeable and efficient. Kitchen layout was terrific to choose your steaks with pricing and names. Very fast to order at cash register, given table number, asked for any options to the chosen food, and we were processed. Waiting time was about 15 minutes. Food was superb. Porterhouse came out Rare as per request. Spare Ribs were incredibly moist and large. Salads and chips and bread rolls were all tasty. Enjoyed the great vibe. We will be back for sure. Going outside to the car were many more people pouring in, and the car park was now mostly full. Recommend going early!

It's a beautiful old hotel, the food sounded delicious but we were sadly disappointed. I would call the food very average at best. Baked potato with a few bacon bits on top. Needed sour cream or even butter at the very least, very bitter coleslaw with no dressing. Can not say I enjoyed this very pricy meal much at all. It's a bit sad when the most enjoyable part of your meal is the bread roll. Won't be returning.

Great place for food and drinks, great atmosphere, good selection of food with steaks and specialty.
Beer on tap is the coldest I’ve ever had.
Food prices are reasonable, on par with other places, the price goes out the window when you taste their steaks, medium rare eye fillet just melted in my mouth.

Ever since the takeover by a large multinational, 'The Brekky' has been going downhill.
Gone are the days of friendly attentive service, and great steaks.
This is now just a very average tourist attraction, trading on a name.
As a local who has been coming here for decades, it is an embarrassment to think that tourists will consider this the best we have to offer.
RIP

We have been going to this pub for years however tonight's meal was almost inedible. There have clearly been some changes at this pub. I have never complained about a meal before, ever and yet this meal was returned hardly eaten. I told the waitress who was lovely and said she would let the kitchen know. We had also run to ask if they would have live music and then could we sit nearby the music, yet nothing was there. Very disappointing!!! 15/2/2020
