Detailed Reviews
We stayed here under the pretence of getting a “Premium river view room with balcony”. Well, this was disappointing as the “premium” river view on offer was actually a giant beige wall of an apartment block in front with a snippet of river either side. Agoda and the website of the hotel don’t mention the partial nature of the view and Agoda actually presents the view in a photo showing a panoramic river view which is completely untrue.
Our other gripe was with regards to breakfast. We had paid an extra $25 per person per day for breakfast which was at Cafe 63, attached to the hotel. Aside from the cafe being mediocre, you can go to this cafe for breakfast and get the same + more than is on offer through the hotel breakfast vouchers for less than $20. Not to mention, you can choose from the many many menu items rather than be restricted to only a few options. Definitely isn’t worth paying for in advance.
However, in saying these negative things there was also many positives. The service was nothing short of fantastic, all the staff we met went above and beyond to help us. We could not fault the staff at all.
The room was as expected and as presented in the photos and was in an excellent location. Less than a 5 minute walk from south bank parklands. I would definitely recommend staying here, as long as you know you have a very obstructed view of the river in advance to avoid disappointment.

A few days prior to check in, I asked if anything could be prepared as I was celebrating Valentine's day early with my partner. The receptionist was very helpful and said some chocolates, fruits & sparkling wine could be organised. Upon check in, I was instead given a complimentary room upgrade to a King Suite, which made my stay even more enjoyable! (I really wanted to have a bath and my original room didn't have one! I didn't even mention this to the staff so was pleasantly surprised when the new room had a large one!) Initially, my partner had problems with using the Chromecast option however it was my partner's device that had an issue. The gentleman who visited the room to assist was very helpful and patient, and everything was resolved so my partner and I had a very enjoyable early valentine's day celebration.
The location of the property is very convenient & pricing is very affordable as a Marriott Bonvoy member. I will definitely return again when I can!

This hotel closed for a short time for an update to the Courtyard Hotel brand standards and I was lucky enough to be a guest on their reopening. With many of the Marriott properties in Brisbane closed for quarantine use, the Courtyard offers a nice property at a reasonable price.
Features include a reasonable size gym and pool, new beds and a Nespresso machine was added on the second day of my stay in a suite. Located close to the hospital, the rooms are quiet, and many have a balcony.
There is a Woolworths just down the road, while those wishing to dine out will find the Southbank entertainment precinct 5 minutes walk. Transport is good with the CBD a short bus ride away, or you can walk 20 minutes or so over the scenic goodwill bridge.

We were there for 6 nights between Xmas and New Years at 2021 as Marriott in Brisbane was not open to public.
The place is in a good location if you traveling with young children, Very close to the playground and easy access to the ferry to CBD.
Other then that, here is nothing left.
The hospital he was terrible, It makes you feel like don’t talk to them anymore. The breakfast is in the café on the ground floor, takes 20 mins for order because of thats only one cafe around. It’s not worth to pay for it with room rate. ( Bonvoy member doesn’t not receive breakfast here but you could choose $10USD hotel credit)

Stayed for 1 night, would definitely be chosing this hotel as my preference for Brisbane/South Bank location.
Close to train station and South Bank restaurants.
Our room on the 6th floor was so quiet and clean.
The pool was lovely! One of the best indoor hotel pools I have used - warm, clean and loved the louvre windows so no strong chlorine/chemical smell.
We opted to include breakfast in our package, it was a great deal. A selection of choices from a menu with a choice of drink. My partner had smashed avo on sourbread with poached eggs and I had the breaky sandwich.
Partner appreciated the glass of bubbly on check in too.
Our room was accessible (we didn't require this option) but the main door opened outwards into the corridor for easy access, and it was a roll in shower.

I stayed here for 1 night yesterday and the whole experience was perfect. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was immaculate, spacious, and with extra useful additions like a Nespresso machine. The bed was soft. The curtains blocked all the light. The balcony had a clear view of the river and city. The location was a short 5 min walk to the start of South Bank's bustling restaurant strip. The attached cafe/restaurant looked very appealing and versatile (though I didn't eat there so I can't confirm). The pool and gym were trendy and bright. The whole hotel was modern and pristine. Staff offered my Elite benefits and allowed me a late checkout without any fuss.

I have stayed at many hotels in my life and this hotel certainly is up there with the best of them!
We chose to stay at this property as it was close to where family lived in Southbank, it is very central to everything in Southbank and everything is in walking distance.
The hotel was very comfortable, but it was the staff that were the shinning stars they were amazing - nothing was too much for them.
I used the BonVoy app to checkin and they messaged me when my room was available and I could “chat” with reception any time during my stay.
I will definitely stay at another Marriott property after this experience …10/10

Room Tip: We booked a partial water view room, it was good as it was river facing and didn’t get much...

We booked this hotel on line at their website as I’m a Bonvoy member and wanted to try to stay at Southbank. We were not disappointed in the booking as we found it very convenient to south bank Grey street area with all the restaurants and cafes, train station, Citi cat and Citi hopper ferry services along the Brisbane river. Also this hotel has a couple of nifty ideas we liked such as water refill stations on each floor and a laundromat on the 2/F for $6 AUD wash and $6 dry using coin operated machines. Their carpark is also spacious but is Aud $30 per day for long stay visitors.
The rooms are large and modern and reusable bottles are provided to top up your water supplies in the room. A nice touch.
We Will definitely stay here again on any future visits to Brisbane.
Staff here especially Jack at the front desk was very helpful.

Their direct website says choose a room type FIRST and then request bedding configuration we pre-booked "168.00 AUD
Room 1 Room Type Superior King, Guest room, 1 King or 2 Twins
Guaranteed Requests: Mobility Accessible Room with Roll-in Shower Hearing Accessible Room." per my printed booking sheet.
But when my 90yo dad and I arrived after 8pm could NOT get the promised configuration choice ONLY Had 1 King so was forced into double twin room on lowest floor, spoke to in a condescending way. Room key doesn't open gym 24 hours. Cafe closed early. So couldnt get nicer pillows nor higher floor. Charged room & bond (in one lump) and whilst its pending, tried to charge for the room (again) off same credit card so charged twice, but wait till pending "eventually" drops off. Bad accounting. New owners since 2021 and Cafe 63 left the building! Some good staff very early Sunday who got dad a shower chair and provided a simple clock radio but otherwise, impervious to assist. Not recommended for those unless couples for accessible room types here.

I’m really impressed with this hotel. I often stay in super high end hotels but for a few reasons ended up here and was very pleasantly surprised. The reception staff (an Asian heritage man, didn’t get his name sorry) was amazing. Genuinely friendly and couldn’t do enough to help with every question and need. I travel a lot and it’s actually fairly rare to find staff who are genuinely efficient and at the same time treat you like a family member. Kudos.
We need two beds, and this bedroom was huge, with two King sized beds and a river view. I slept really well. The bathroom is also good size and functional. We are sitting here now having a cup of tea and watching the river, which is great.
Right next door is Brisbane’s Southbank park and ‘beach’ which I had read about. The situation of the hotel in regard to it couldn’t be better. We went there for a walk in the evening as it was a really hot day, and we ate dinner there. We are about to go for breakfast so can’t comment on that yet, but it’s right downstairs. There is also a vending machine downstairs if you need soft drink or snacks.
In summary, this is a great hotel that represents value for money. I would definitely return.
