Detailed Reviews
We had not stayed at The Johnson before and were very pleased with our choice. We booked a 2 bedroom, one bathroom apartment style room and found that the room was very spacious, and very modern and clean. The staff members were very friendly and we couldn't fault our stay. The bathroom was big with 2 basins and a big bath. Kitchen facilities were great. There was plenty of storage space in both bedrooms. It would just about be the quietest place we have ever stayed at, there was no noise at all from other guests, or any road noise whatsoever. The blackout curtains were also very effective. There was also a washing machine. The bedding was comfortable and we would most definitely stay here again, this is an excellent hotel.

I cannot recommend The Johnson enough, the duty manager and reception staff were exceptionally wonderful for my stay. I stayed at The Johnson 21 - 23 April for my last night before the wedding and our wedding night. They were very accommodating and responsive with my questions, enabling my parents to visit me whilst I was getting ready on the day meant the world to me and will be a memory I treasure forever.
The deluxe studio room I stayed in was well equipped, pristinely clean and very spacious with a lovely view and natural light, being only 4 minutes drive from Victoria Park (where my wedding was) made travel so stress-free and easy. From the minute I stepped through the doors of the hotel I was instantly relaxed and settled in for the best night of sleep in the amazing luxurious bed before the big day. I never had an issue with The Johnson which can't be said for some of my other wedding vendors but I'm so glad I chose to stay here! Will be back for a staycation and dip in the roof top pool!!

Great location in Spring Hill . It gives you a suburban homely Brisbane feel as opposed to concrete jungle feel. Great staff especially from the front desk which must be commended from the moment I checked in to the time I checked out, very friendly demeanour . The inclement weather didn’t allow me to use the swimming pool which I was really looking forward to.
If there is one room for improvement would be my experience with housekeeping services. The only time they were able to clean my room on the day of Saturday 26/2 it was rather unsatisfactory. The bed was not crisply made and rather wrinkly compared to other hotels I’ve stayed in. The rubbish from underneath the kitchenette sink was not picked up, only the bathroom bin was emptied, therefore there was lack of rubbish space in the kitchen for the following night. The toiletries and bathroom items were not replenished. Also the toilet bowl was not cleaned at all and there was no toilet brush or toilet products made available in the room so I can clean it myself . I would have thought at the time of pandemic that the supposed daily housekeeping service would be more meticulous and thorough. I suggest the housekeeping staff member working on 26/2 requires further training and development about the quality of the service provided. After I returned to my hotel room that evening, I contacted reception and spoke with Matthew from reception to give feedback about my concerns on the promised daily housekeeping service as part of my room booking . I have a relative booked to stay there for over 30 nights at The Johnson in late June - July 2022 and unfortunately my feedback about the housekeeping service to them was not very positive . So hopefully the standard would be improved by then.
Other than that, I have really enjoyed my time and location at The Johnson despite the rainy weather in Brisbane . The room was spacious and comfortable including the bedding. I was also very pleased that they delivered my bag to my room upon check in which saved me having to request for it from storage. Again just to reiterate the staff at the front desk was the highlight of my stay as they gave great friendly service throughout and offered advice about great coffee places nearby so thank you for making it a pleasant stay.

This hotel is situated in Spring Hill, a 10-15, albeit hilly, walk gets you into the city centre. In these times of covid I actually prefer to stay in more quiet areas.
I was in a studio suite room. It was clean and nicely appointed with a modern industrial feel with signature artwork from Michael Johnson on the wall and access to a small balcony. The view was into the hotels car park but I wasn’t fussed about that.
More importantly the room was very spacious. Big enough to comfortably do an in room work out without the need to move furniture around.
Bathroom was also spacious with a double vanity seperate walk in shower and toilet.
The beds are on the soft side but still very comfortable.
With the closure of the on site restaurant, food options are limited with a few restaurants close by. Beverage vouchers were redeemable against minibar items.
Didn’t use the pool but it looked very inviting.
The staff at reception were very friendly and exceptionally efficient. Checked in only took a matter of minutes and check out was done with a ‘your good to go’ upon handing over the room key.
I think in I’ve found my new go to hotel for future stays in Brisbane.

I don’t really understand all of the great reviews. This hotel is very good in some respects (the 2 bed room is very large, great double glazing, beautiful finishes; the location is in an old part of Brisbane that has character and is 10 min walk to the city) and really not good enough in others. It’s as if the hotel is barely staying afloat and looking for every dollar to save including on staff. The pool chairs are shockingly decrepit (all of the cushions are torn and or stained, tossed about), in the 2 days we stayed the pool towels never turned up, the staff attitude feels stingy (offering a late checkout of 2 hrs … if we paid for it) or slightly under-competent (we were referred to a nearby restaurant for dinner on a Sunday but a quick check of their website determined the restaurant never opens on Sundays). Most significantly, however, even now the hotel and Accor websites advertise an on-site restaurant (as well as room service) but the restaurant has closed down.
If you’re looking for somewhere easy to stay, close to Brisbane cbd and don’t really need any of the usual 4-star aspects, this place is a solid choice. Possibly not great value but very very comfortable.

I stay at The Jonson 1 or 2 nights a week and can say it's consistently an absolute delight to return.
Henry, Dom and the front of house team are the most welcoming and accommodating people you could come across.
The accommodation is always clean, the rooms are light and airy, the art adds character and the beds super comfortable.
The facilities are modern and the pool a work of art itself. Breakfast is fresh (recommend the smoothie bowl) and coffee good.
I usually stay in a 1 bedroom deluxe (which is perfect for a solo or couple travelling) but the 2 bedroom and sub-penthouses are also fantastic.
I've seen inside The Johnson Suite and would highly recommend it for something very special with its sweeping views over the city and floor to ceiling, 180 degree windows (however beyond my budget!).
Highly recommended from a frequent visitor.

Really need to improve bed comfort at the Johnson facility. WOuld be wodnerful to have mattress firmness options upon check in. Need foam pillows made available at the site, not borrowed from sister/brother hotels and the AC vents and units need a good clean. Those things aside, I always enjoy the staff and their genuine warmth at this site.

Large clean modern rooms, good layout and friendly and helpful employees. I stayed here for work and had to self isolate/ extend my stay unexpectedly having been in Melbourne the week before. The employees were helpful with my sudden lockdown (including collecting a coffee and sandwich from across the road) and flexible with extending my booking.
There is free street parking on weekends and between 18:00 and 08:00 Monday to Friday. Only consideration is that with current COVID changes the hotel restaurant is closed, and (apart from Dominoes) the local restaurants are closed on weekends. There is a Creole restaurant (open until 23:00) and a Thai restaurant across the road that are open Monday to Friday evenings and a good coffee cafe also across the street.
The room I had had a microwave, fridge, kitchen sink and crockery so you can pick up meals from supermarket.

A very comfortable stay. We booked a Studio Room for a weeks stay between homes and found that not only the room was far better than we expected for the price but the staff could not have been more helpful.
Will definitely be back again!
The Studio Room had a mini kitchenette (basically stocked) and there was nowhere to eat at the hotel (this is being written in the time of Covid!) but there is an excellent restaurant across the road for dinner and plenty of breakfast options close by.
Fabulous value.

We come to Brisbane quite often but have never stayed at the Johnson but have always wanted to try it. It was perfect for where we needed to go on one of the nights – our all-time favourite French restaurant, La Cache a Vin. As Platinum members, we were very grateful to be given an upgrade to a two bedroom apartment – very spacious, modern and thoughtfully decorated accommodation and very much appreciated. It was completely self-contained and would also be an ideal place to stay if spending a longer time in Brisbane. It is located a little walk from the centre of town but right across the road is a bus stop for the free Spring Hill Loop service which runs quite frequently. The beds were great and location was super quiet. Once again, because of Accor status, breakfast and parking was complimentary, though the breakfast was off site but that really is no problem with the free shuttle across the road. Right outside the hotel is a newly opened very interesting restaurant called Kickin Inn which we tried and loved and across the road is another very popular Creole restaurant which we will try next time. Great service and very friendly, professional staff at reception, housekeeping and throughout the hotel. Will definitely be back many times.

Yes, parking available under the hotel. Not sure on the space re trailer though? Worth calling as they are pretty accommodating.
I don’t think so. It is a la carte in a restaurant next door.
Yes although no glass around the pool
Not too sure about the actual distance from The Johnson but its about a 20-25 min brisk walk from the hotel. Alternatively, you could catch the free Springhill loop bus service - bus 30 during the weekdays to the cbd and from there its just a 10 min walk.
