The Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park garners acclaim for its prime location in Sydney's CBD, with guests enjoying its proximity to key attractions and the park. The hotel's atmosphere marries classic charm with modern touches, albeit with some signs of wear. While opinions on value are divided due to occasional unexpected charges, the spacious and clean rooms with scenic views largely impress, despite a few remarks about dated designs and noise. The service is often lauded for its professionalism, and the amenities, including the luxurious Club Lounge and diverse breakfast selection, are popular among guests, though some suggest updates are needed.

Having coming here after staying at the LAX Sheraton (terrible!) en route to Australia, I was more than concerned about what to expect at the Sheraton Sydney. Well, my worries were unfounded and overall our 3 night stay was great. Used our Ambassador Suite Night Upgrades for a Grand Executive Suite. It was very nice but nothing spectacular. Only one sink in the bathroom, toiletries could have been more deluxe - and by all means AVOID room 2010 (and surrounding ones) which are directly under the Club Lounge and come with lots of early morning and later evening noise from above. The constant banging of the used coffee grinds out of the machine is very unpleasant underneath!

Speaking of the Club Lounge, it was a very enjoyable experience. Expansive breakfast in the mornings (although no made to order eggs), and a delightful 5-7pm happy hour with unlimited alcoholic drinks (small but adequate selection) and another wide variety of nibbles that were more like the offerings at a Ritz than at a Sheraton. The lounge staff are also excellent and sure put a LOT of time and effort into making this lounge what I’m sure is amongst the best in the entire Sheraton brand. Thank you for a job well done!

Feast buffet for breakfast was also nice but very crowded at times and the servers really get overwhelmed with cleaning tables and delivering drink orders. Food selection was very good, though. Conservatory bar was beautiful with light food offerings and I appreciated the 20% Ambassador discount off the food and drinks bill.

Pool and gym on the top floor were nice. Location of the hotel was right downtown across from Hyde Park and a nice 20 minute walk to Circular Quay, the Opera House, and the Rocks neighborhood. Would definitely choose this property again over the Marriott. The Sheraton is a cut above.

I booked a Grand Executive Suite for my wife and I for 3 nights to blend a night at the theatre with exploring some of the Eastern parts of Sydney.

The suite was very spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The lounge room with a large lounge, writing deskand large flat TV had an excellent view of Hyde Park and of the harbour. The King Size bed was quite sumptuous and dressed with high quality bed linen. Good nights sleep enjoyed by my wife and I. The bathroom was spacious with a decent shower and sufficient toiletries for 2 adults. Bath, hand and face towels were plentiful and soft and bathrobes were good sze and quality.

We did have some minor irratations at the start which we brought to the attention of the Event Manager Zoe Richardson. All were dealt with and fixed in a flash with the hotel supplying a complimentary bottle of wine to compentate for the inconvenience. Overall the service was excellent. The team members were professional and attentive.

Our reservation included access to the Sheraton Club lounge where we had breakfast each morning. It was enjoyable way to start the day. We did not avail ourselves of the complimentary drinks and snacks between 5 to 7 each evening. For me a time to be avoided as I found it akin to an invasion of scores of guests that appeared not to have eaten or drank for several days. I could go on but will leave it at that.

The suite was reasonably expensive, but (in our opinion) it was more than good value and was the right choice for our much needed 3 day 'mini adventure'

The hotel recognised our Marriott member level and wanted to give us an upgrade but there were no suites available until the next day so they asked if it was ok to move us tomorrow, which of course we said yes. The first night we were given a beautiful corner room which was very spacious and had beautiful views of Hyde Park and the Cathedral. The next night we were upgraded to a fabulous suite! It was beautifully laid out, large TV's in both the lounge area and the bedroom, all the mod cons. The lounge area also had a very large work desk and comfy swivel chair which came in very handy. The bathrooms are a generous size and have a separate bathtub and shower. Bathrobes, towels and bed linen were of a high quality.

The Club Lounge is one of the best we've been too and the views are magnificient! There is an assortment of seating arrangements to choose from which is always a good thing. The variety of food for breakfast and evening canapes is quite extensive and perfectly presented.

The hotel location is in the central CBD area with very access to public transport and around a 15min walk to Circular Quay.

All staff from the moment we stepped out of the taxi to the day we left were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. A special mention to Macy and Ambros in the Club Lounge and Joana at reception. Also, the Duty Manager on 23/11 whose name I can't remember.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again in another week!

The Sheraton is an iconic hotel in Sydney - the location is excellent - the staff well trained and eager to help the guests. The valet parking is very easy, and the rooms are bright and airy.

We stayed between Christmas and New Years, and the only downside was the fact they oversold the Club Floor, with more people trying to use it than was reasonable, leading to using the lobby restaurant as an overflow, and making it very difficult for some people, at some times, to find seating. The fact the coffee machine quit twice while we were there, left another lot of people dis-satisfied.

Located in the heart of the CBD, it was very easy to get in and out to all of our favourite eating, shopping and sightseeing destinations around Sydney. Beautiful views of Hyde park and St Mary’s Cathedral, as well as partial water views kept us feeling refreshed and relaxed. Beds are very comfortable, and rooms are spacious and were kept clean throughout our stay by a thoughtful housekeeping team who quickly noticed our preferences. Sheraton Club lounge experience was good, and we especially wish to thank Tony Park for his outstanding professional and friendly service as well as his colleagues Macy and Daan, and team members Simona and Sol, all of whom looked after us extremely well during our stay. We also wish to thank Annastasha at the front desk who gave us a warm and friendly welcome when we checked in earlier than expected, and helped us arrange early access to our room, and Ces Cureg who reached out to us even before our arrival to help us mark a special occasion we were celebrating by arranging a delicious complimentary cake and sparkling wine. As Marriott Bonvoy platinum elite members we received excellent recognition. We will definitely choose to stay here again for our next visit to Sydney.

As a Club Marriott member, I have been dining at Feast for many years, so I was hesitant in trying out their new buffet to table experience post COVID-19.
It was great to see a sanitising station at the front, staff wearing masks and chefs etc also wore gloves.

This was a very pleasant surprise, as the food was still the high quality you would come to expect from a 5 star restaurant. There was definitely enough food and the variety was also good. Would have loved more of a dessert selection as this was quite sparse.

The standout was our waiter Elmer who went above and beyond to ensure we were happy, comfortable and our dietary needs were met. Nothing was ever a trouble for Elmer as he waited on us with his usual smile and positive demeanour. He even went out of his way to source some ice-cream for me - thank you!
We were so glad to see a familiar and friendly face.

Now that I've tried this new Feast dining concept with my husband, I'm more than happy to visit again next weekend with my friends!
Thank you

When our taxi pulled into the drop off area for the Sheraton Grand, the bell staff was right there to assist. Very friendly and helpful.

We arrived at the hotel much earlier than we had anticipated and even though we had requested an early check in when we booked, we were pleasantly surprised to only have to wait an hour. Also, Polly upgraded us to a fabulous room overlooking Hyde Park. It may have helped that we have Gold Elite status with Marriott.

The room was a dream come true. It was attractively decorated, the bathroom was huge with a tub and a separate shower with a makeup mirror. The bed was spotlessly clean with fresh, crisp bedding. Coffee maker, wine glasses, champagne flutes, coffee mugs and two bottles of free water every day. Oh, I have to mention the closet, which has a safe and a wonderful fixed bench to put a large suitcase on, making packing so much easier.

The staff at this hotel were helpful, engaging and seemed happy to help. This was a 10 out of 10 stay.

Thank you, Marriott!

Only issues we had was quality of food and lack of equipment provided. Need tea towels, metal cutlery and plates to eat food on washing up liquid is provided in the room so why not give us normal plates to eat off. A microwave would have been useful in the room. Menu was not good and needs to be urgently reviewed. Hot food was lukewarm remember how many rooms are being provided the food at the same time. Continental breakfast would be sufficient every morning rather than cold scrambled eggs!!! Lunchtime sandwiches would be great and hot meal at night time.

When we arrived the valet told us to drive straight into the carpark (we had self parking included) and jump in the lift to reception.
Check in was a breeze and had our parking validated on arrival to make it easier in the morning.

The room was beautiful and huge.
The bathroom was bigger than some hotels I've stayed in London and New York!
The sheets were soft and the bed comfortable.
Electric blinds on the windows were fantastic and made the room so dark for a nice sleep in.

The downside was the noisy family opposite us who had a child or two running up and down the hall yelling and screaming, then slamming their door constantly.

We were simply trying to relax after a horrible week with two deaths in the family but all we could hear was screaming from 3pm onwards.
The following morning while trying to eat breakfast a family had two children running around the Level 1 area from the elevators to the bar screaming at the top of their lungs. This went on for the last 20 minutes we were there until after we left.

We tried to go to the pool and spa several times but there were children running and screaming in here as well. We went back late at night close to closing time and there were even more !

Check out - we used the express as the line was too long to hang around.
Still waiting on the invoice I requested and the stay isnt showing in the app or my records?

We will be back again in a month so I hope its better and less noisy...

Really the extraordinary, the magnificent, and the ugly...but that isn't nearly so good a riff off the movie title. Everywhere but at reception the service was extraordinary as was the Sheraton Club lounge, 'rooftop' indoor pool/spa, and the interior of the room.

And the location is magnificent. Walking distance to most of Sydney's tourist attractions (Opera House, Anzac Memorial, Chinatown, Botanical Gardens, etc.), across the street from the St. James station with subway access to the rest of the city, and cabs always waiting out front.

The ugly came in two parts. After multiple attempts (then investigation via website) I found out that the hotel's signature restaurant, The Feast, doesn't take reservations for one. I would suggest they rip out a pair of four tops and replace them with a communal table as seen at many of Manhattan's better restaurants.

But the worse bit of ugliness for me (which doesn't affect most guests) was my lower floor room assignment in our new post-Marriott merger world. I'm (new world) Titanium, reserved the best 'normal' room in the hotel, allocated SNAs to the hotel many months ago, and up through the day I checked in there were higher floor suites available for the length of my stay.

It was possible though highly unlikely that every Hyde Park view room on every floor above mine was occupied with Ambassador and/or other Titanium guests. Particularly given the coronavirus fears and monsoon-like weather. What was impossible (since their website showed availability) is that a higher floor suite was unavailable.

What was unforgivable was that the gentleman at reception treated my request for a higher floor room or upgrade as nothing but an imposition. No discussion of availability if I was willing to switch rooms during my stay, nor of switching to a partial Hyde park view room on a higher floor, nor (obviously) of being upgraded to a suite. His attitude was 'This is the room you reserved...take it or leave it.'
