Ibis Sydney Darling Harbour is often celebrated for its prime location, making it a convenient base for city exploration, despite remarks about the compact rooms and nearby construction. Although the cleanliness and comfort of the beds receive positive attention, opinions on value are mixed, with several travelers questioning the cost relative to the services and dated amenities provided.
Guest experiences with the staff show a dichotomy, highlighting both commendable assistance and instances of slow service. The atmosphere strikes a balance, offering a pleasant musical vibe amidst an environment that some find lackluster.

Centrally located and convenient, you can easily walk to the ferries which will take you just about anywhere you want to go for about $7USD. Clean, comfortable accommodations. Our room included a fridge, a tea kettle, tea, and a great view.

I gave this hotel 3 stars based on its location and public areas however…. The rooms are extremely old, dated and generally tatty, they weren’t clean either, the shower has mould and screen door leaked. The location is good, right on the harbour with a train station across the road, unfortunately that side of the harbour is undergoing major renovation so if you pay for a harbour view what you get is a construction site view with the noise of heavy machinery. I would absolutely not stay here again as it’s not a cheap hotel ( I actually feel a little ripped off) and you can get far more for your money elsewhere and when trying to decide on rating it’s only the walk to the “good” side of the harbour which made me settle on 3 but really probably more a 2 Star stay at a 4 star price

The staff had no idea what they were doing at check in and checkout, even though i checked in before i arrived at the property. The room was very small and stuffy inside. There was mold on and inside the air conditioner.
The breakfast was cold and not worth the money.
We weren't told it costs $65 to park our car at checking, we were told parking was free.
The hotel was in a nice location, central to everything.
The bathroom was big

The foyer of the hotel looked very promising but our room was really basic. Carpets were worn out and tired. Room was more like a student hall of residence bedroom than a hotel. It felt in need of some TLC and updating.
We paid over £150 per night and they don't even clean your room unless you specifically request it before 10am!
There were no plug sockets anywhere near the bed.
There only ever seemed to be one person on reception and so you had to queue if you wanted anything.
Hotel did served bar food but we didn't see anyone eating there.
Breakfast could be had, but it was very basic and not worth the cost.
Location is ok but the part of Darling Harbour directly adjacent to the hotel is undergoing major refurbishment/ demolition work at present.

Fantastic check-in experience, rooms are everything you would expect with great views of the harbour. Bathrooms looking a little worse for wear but still adequate. location was perfect. Bar service was quick and prompt. We didn’t hear any noise from elevator or other guests and beds were comfy with a range of pillow options. Simple and clean accom - perfect for the price

Imagine arriving to the hotel at 11:30pm that you pre-booked weeks ago after 24hrs+ of international travel only to be told that your room was unavailable due to maintenance issues (which could not be explained despite questioning). I had also responded to their email a day earlier asking me to complete the express check in option which included advising what time we would arrive and confirming we were still coming. We were then told to sit and wait whilst they addressed the matter. We were then instructed we had to walk down to Novotel with all our luggage as that’s where we would be staying for the night as there were no rooms for us. The staff tried to sell it to us as a 4 star hotel upgrade even though we didn’t want to stay here. We were marched down to the hotel at midnight and waited close to an hour before we had an update or a room key. The staff did not offer any apologies or understanding for this major inconvenience. The major issue being that hotels were all charging gigantic costs (price gauging) due to Taylor swift performing in Sydney. And I strongly believe our booking was processed knowing full well there weren’t enough rooms available. We got into our room at 1am and were then expected to check out at 10am the next morning and store our luggage next door with Ibis until our room was available. We were offered breakfast for one day only as compensation. I would highly recommend avoiding this hotel at all costs. There are much nicer and centrally located hotels in the same area that are more reliable, professional and hospitable than spending your money here to possibly not even have a booking. Do not recommend and would encourage everyone to avoid booking here.

The Ibis Darling Harbour was ideal for staying a couple of nights in the city. It is very close to Darling Harbour so plenty of places to eat, the light rail and Star Casino.
I was in room 609, which while very small had everything I needed - a comfortable bed, good shower and most importantly it was clean. The room had a view of part of Darling Harbour and the city, which was lovely to fall asleep to!
The hotel was kind enough to store my luggage after I checked out too!
Thanks Ibis, all good!

I was in town for a conference at the ICC and the Ibis Sydney Darling Harbour was nearby and inexpensive. I used one of my free nights but upgraded to a harbour view room.
The room was small but an adequate size for two nights. There was a small, but adequate hanging space for clothes. The bed was good sized and very comfortable and the blackout curtain was effective. There was also a good sized desk.
There were three accessible power points, one with two low power USB ports. I had no trouble recharging devices and using my computer. The wifi was excellent and I streamed a movie off amazon prime one evening.
The bathroom was a reasonable size with a walk in shower (no bath) and the water was hot with good pressure. It also had the multi power points for shavers and a hair dryer, although I did not need either of those.
There is no room service nor a minibar – although there was a fridge. There was a kettle and plenty of fixings for tea and coffee. I ordered a meal from the bar one night and they supplied a tray so that I could take it back to my room. Slightly inconvenient but the food was good and low cost.
Check in and check out were smooth and fast. My bags were held on the day of checked out.
There were some minor maintenance issues that could be addressed, notably one of the privacy curtains was missing – as I was a long way from the nearest overlooking window I was not concerned.

Had a wonderful 8 nights here!! Staff were amazing, every request was met, and hotel was full, as stayed over Christmas and New Year!! Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice, and even the bistro for dinner one evening was good... Rooms alittle small and dated, but contained all you needed and daily cleaning on request. Location perfect, New Year's Eve firework display on Darling Harbour at 9pm, and then strolled short distance to watch Sydney Harbour Bridge display at midnight, a simply once in a lifetime experience!!
thank you so much...

THE VIEW! THE VIEW! THE VIEW! The view is amazing as you can see the harbor and the skyline. The hotel is also very close to everything, just walk over the bridge and you will be around many shops and attractions. You are also a very short walk to the ferry boat which will take you to many areas and attractions for less than $1 USD! There are a few restaurants nearby that stay open very late and a market across the street with drinks and snacks. The hotel staff were very friendly and beyond helpful. I loved the outdoor lounge and hate I didn't have more time to sit out there but I had the same incredible view from my room! My room was clean and my bed was very comfortable!

No Bath only Shower ... May have in other rooms but not in our room.
Hi that is something you would have to ask the Hotel sorry.
Yes But I didn't think it was in an obvious place.
Not associated with the Ibis, but next door in a multi level carpark
The rooms are only big enough for 2 people.
