Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

👍🏼
(1) It is a great property located at Surry Hills, or on the Elizabeth Street
(2) Conveniently located not too far from bus stop, and some walking to the Central Station where you could get on the train and tram. If you are using the CityMapper app, then you could use the bus which will stop right in front of the apartment
(3) Really easy to check in and check out
(4) The place is new and generally clean
(5) Our unit comes with full kitchen and washer, so good for our stay. And you are a fan of Miele brand home appliances, then you would like it here

👎🏼
(6) The communications between us and the apartment manager could have been better. As I called and all no reply, neither the manager returns my calls
(7) So all communications had to be through e-mail
(8) Food choices could be limited if you are planning to eat out
(9) The air-conditioner functions really strangely, while we turned it on, it took some time to be cold, and when we turned it off, the whole apartment is really cold

Botanik is just amazing for us. We stayed 9 nights in a 2bedroom and 2bathroom apartment which is gloriously huge. Very inexpensive and best of all it is all white and black and well-equipped for a holiday stay. It is in Surry Hills along Elizabeth Street and everything is so convenient - walk to Central Station and both tram and bus stops are within walking distance to to take you to almost every place of interest like Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Queen Victoria Building, Chinatown, markets and even to Bondi Junction, Bondi Beach, Brontë Beach and Bath, and more. Trust me, you would rather stay in Surry Hills in this exceptionally tasty apartment than in a hotel room in CBD location.

The apartment complex was safe, quiet, and private. Stylish furnishings. Thick, fluffy towels and nice, soft pillows. Walking distance to a park, to public transport, and to restaurants. We stayed for a week.

Reliability & trust are the 1st elements we look for when we do bookings. This we didn't get from Agoda & Apt. Hotel Botanik, Sydney. We thought that once bookings are accepted & paid in full, that's already guaranteed.

Knowing that Christmas season is peak & it's our 1st time in Australia, we booked in Apt. Hotel Botanik Sydney from Dec. 21-28 through Agoda, 3 rooms for our family of 7, as early as March.

End of August, Agoda informed us that our booking was canceled & they could either refund or help us look for another one. There was no reason given as to why they canceled. We asked them to help us. To our dismay, in less than an hour, they emailed saying that they tried their best but couldn't find any. Obviously, they didn't care to try hard enough.

Yes they have refunded & compensated us with US387.25 in Agoda points, but this continues to cause us much aggravation. We are again looking but at this time, accomodations in the central area have doubled in cost & are difficult to find.

There are no frills, but there is everything you need. Fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, dryer, iron, foxtel, great wifi, dining area, lounge, loads and loads of storage space, great bathroom, very clean. The bedroom wasn't all that big, but big enough and it had a lot of wardrobe space. Everything you need for a short or long stay. It seems there are different types of apartment, and we had one with a larger balcony and a dining area. We were on the first floor, facing Elizabeth Street, and it was still very quiet, but given a choice, two or three floors higher would have been better. The location is fabulous. Five minutes' walk to Central Station, and if you don't mind a bit of a walk, you can easily walk all over the CBD and to the Opera House and The Rocks. Recommended.

This is a place you can call ‘home’ soon.

Don’t expect a hotel but expect a place for you to feel comfortable as a home.

Well maintained, well equipped and at a great location to explore Surry Hills and the CBD.

Management makes sure you will have a careless stay.

A bottle of complimentary water and it’s perfect stay for those who are not expecting a hotel experience. Well done!
