Detailed Reviews
The footprint for the hotel building is very small which translated into this being one of the smallest rooms we've ever stayed in – not much space to maneuver around in the bedroom, probably sufficient for one person but cramped for two (and don't even think about three). Bathroom is a bit on the small side as well.
The room was clean and comes with stuff that is standard in Australian hotels, namely an electric jug and a small bar fridge. Free Wi-Fi.
The location is approximately two blocks off of the Darling Harbor waterfront in Barangaroo. Although it is difficult to tell from a map, it is a quick and easy walk to Wynyard train station with access to the CBD. The location is very good for getting to darling Harbor
There is a motorway that runs behind the hotel. Although the motorway isn't busy after hours, traffic can be heard throughout the night and the better rooms would be on the Harborside.

Room on the smaller side, bed comfortable, the shower good, with pump shower gel. There was however a constant noise that we were unable to locate that kept us awake the first night. We got ear plugs from reception and had no problems after that. The breakfast was great and the coffee very good. We also had drinks and pizza from the bar one evening. Location is ideal, just a short stroll to the waterfront of Darling Harbour with bars and restaurants. We even walked back from Chinatown to the motel, a bit of a walk but still do able. Train station is a few streets walk away. Over all, good basic motel in an ideal location if you enjoy walking places.

I used this hotel for a night as it was very convenient to two days of meetings/seminars in the area. When I arrived at 10.30am to drop my bag, the room was ready, which was a bonus. It was small but modern and very comfortable and well-appointed for its position in the market. Didn't like to see small individual bottles of soap, shampoo and conditioner further contained inside a cellophane bag when progressive hotels are going for bulk toiletries. Would have liked a powerpoint/charging point beside the bed but that isn't a deal-breaker.

This hotel by far exceeded our expectations. In a fantastic location 5 minute walk from Darling Harbour and its bars, restaurants, nightlife, boat trips and tourist attractions. The bedrooms are quite small, but they have everything you need and although traffic was wizzing past outside our room, it did not disturb us. There’s a cosy lounge and bar area plus a gym with a shower, which we were able to use to freshen up after checkout before our evening flight,
The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Peter at reception who gave us maps, tips, advice etc to help make our stay as good as possible.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your glowing review! We’re thrilled to hear that your stay exceeded expectations and that our fantastic location, just minutes from Darling Harbour, added to your experience. It’s wonderful to know that despite the room’s proximity to traffic, you found it peaceful and well-equipped. Check-in: 1/10
The gentleman’s attitude and sloppy appearance was not the most welcoming. As loyal Gold Members (not known to him as we booked via Amex Travel) we had many positive experiences at different Accor properties - a contrast at Ibis Barangaroo. Being the first point of F2F contact, FOH should be more aware of how they present themselves and the brand. Check in was a very disappointing experience.
Barista / Cafe: 1/10
Upon check out the following morning, we decided to swing by the cafe for the included breakfast and made it by 8 minutes. You must be thinking that is a very specific time. Well, in fact it is as the younger gentleman behind the counter (light hair) told me that exact time. He was very perturbed by having to provide service so close to closing breakfast. All we were after were two untoasted cold toasted sandwiches and croissants to take away as we planned on leaving anyway. Again he was not impressed and attitude the entire time we were there was extremely negative (as if he was annoyed/bothered to have to work by making food and swiping us into the bathrooms. He would benefit from a few hospitality courses and how to provide customer service.
Check out: 10/10
The younger dark haired gentleman was lovely, courteous and provided excellent customer service unlike the older taller dark haired gentleman at check in.
We stayed in Room 609 and although the location is fabulous, we will not be back or making any recommendations.
We were NOT expecting 5* treatment, but those team members were horrendous and we can honestly say we’ve gotten better service at a petrol station.

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at ibis Sydney Barangaroo. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. At ibis Sydney Barangaroo, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence, especially for what happened during breakfast and for what I apologize deeply. The team member has been approached so it doesn't happen in the future. However, I have also had a chat with our Front Office Supervisor who checked you in. He assured me the check-in went well apart from your frustration after we had to deny your membership benefits, to which you were not eligible for having boked through a third party. I understand the frustration about not being able to enjoy the benefits of your loyalty, but one of the key conditions is that you have to book directly with us, and being adamant about it doesn't make things easier as we have to enforce these rules, regardless of other hotels not following the rules. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that we will see you in the future. Warm regards,

Picked this place for its perfect location for seeing the sights along the wharf. Friendly staff, petite but stylish rooms and a great lobby. The lobby has a coffee bar with breakfast, happy hour 3-5 and simple dinner fare through 10pm. Fun siting area with a library lounge vibe. Really appreciated the free sparkling water on tap. Definitely recommend!

Booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary due to location and we believed for the price it was costing it would be ok.
The reception staff were lovely. When we arrived we were excited to be there to unpack and hot the local area. We were given a room on level 2 with views out our window of the green edge/underneath of the freeway outside. We closed the block out blind and left it closed the whole weekend. We are afl lovers and wanted 7 mate on the tv to catch up on the game to find out it doesn't work. Tried to hdmi our laptop, they disable the source button.
Room is very small bit great and had all facilities for just sleeping. We requested firmer pillows but they didn't arrive with pillow cases and when requested covers never arrived.
Fabulously located to King St wharf, wynyard station and the city itself. Lovely walking from barrangaroo to the Rocks for markets, dining or to just watch the boats go by. Wild Sage cafe close by had great coffee.
Overall I'd prob find another hotel close by for our stay.
PS Globe sports bar around the corner was awesome for a bite and live sport

Ibis Barangaroo delivers on comfort and value.
Location of the hotel is within minutes from King St wharf and Barangaroo, perfect if you need to be in and around that area.
Rooms are small but all information is on their website in what you’re getting. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel also has a lounge area on the ground floor with snacks and drinks available for purchase.
Staff were friendly and checked in and out with minimal fuss.
This hotel is perfectly adequate for a short stay.

This is a shout out to the amazing staff at Ibis Sydney King Street Wharf. It was my birthday and my partner treated me to a birthday surprise stay at this hotel. To my delight, there was a birthday card and complimentary wine waiting for me upon arrival and I was wished a happy birthday. Well done, Ibis, I will most definitely be staying with you again. The venue is clean, comfortable and is in a perfect central spot for those wanting to hop on and off ferries, visit the Crown Casino and dine at one of the many nearby restaurants.

Booked a 4 night stay at an amazing price with breakfast included, I was surprised at the cheap price given it was school holidays, I felt somewhat trepidatious about it, thinking at that price is it a bed bug infested, filthy hovel? The answer, thankfully is no. Super clean room with an assortment of pillows (who doesn’t love a pillow menu), with a large bed, firmer than I’d like but that comes down to personal preference. The rooms are tiny, probably the smallest I’ve experienced, however we spend our time on holidays out exploring, the room is simply a space to sleep & use the bathroom so I was not too concerned by this. The view is of nothing, just an office building. Close walking distance to King Street Wharf/Darling Harbour & Wynyard Station via the new Wynyard walk. There’s a handily located supermarket across the road for snacks & bottled water. Breakfast at the hotel was great. We didn’t try the bar. I have to mention the fact that the black out blind in our room fell down during the night, these things happen & wasn’t a problem, I asked at reception to have it fixed and it was promptly done. Sometime afterwards one of the reception ladies delivered a lovely bottle of red wine to our room for the inconvenience. This was a nice & very unexpected gesture for which I’m most grateful, the fixing of the blind alone was enough so thank you!
I’d stay again, it’s conveniently located & has all we need.
