We may have set our expectations a little too high with Sofitel. Upon arrival, there was no immediate greeting from guest services, no one to guide us where to park our car for the valet. It was quite a wait to get someone to take our keys. Although it was no big deal as we only had one main suitcase, I still thought it would have been good customer service to have someone offer to help with our luggage. We had much better customer service for the similar price that we paid at a nearby high-end hotel a month prior so I guess we set our hopes too high. Our Junior Suite had great views of Darling Harbour and the room was clean and lovely but smaller than we had expected for a suite. We found it strange that the TV in the bathroom was next to the vanity when it would have made more sense to have it facing the bath tub like in most luxury hotels. You do get a lovely view of Darling Harbour from the tub but your privacy is compromised with the curtains opened as it also gives other people in your room access to the bathroom. The view from the rooftop pool was amazing however, only one person was brave enough to take a one-second dip as the pool was freezing. The pool area would be more enticing if there were maybe some eye-catching outdoor furnitures and a heated pool. The reception and staff at the Millesime Club were the positive part of our stay. They actually had smiles on their faces and were very friendly which was quite a contrast to the less enthusiastic, lack-lustre treatment we had at the door and downstairs reception. There was no buffet for breakfast due to Covid-19 restrictions but you could order any meals from their breakfast list. The food was delicious and it was nice to have breakfast at level 35 with a good view. The receptionist at Club Millesime was lovely and made our check-out process quick and easy.

Bonjour PGAnge Thank you for your review of our hotel and we appreciate your comments of arrival and the pool area. Our pool furniture is getting upgraded hopefully in time for summer and we look forward to showing this off. Our pool is heated at 26 degrees but we understand sometimes the wind chill in the harbour can combat this. We are glad to hear you enjoyed Club Millesime and we look forward to welcoming you back to our lovely hotel in future. Regards

There’s always so much class with the Sofitel brand and you can feel it the moment you enter the lobby. From check in to getting in the room to having buffet breakfast, its like being on a holiday within a holiday! We had two room one queen and two twin beds, the rooms had different layouts like the positions of the bath tub. But even the rooms facing the back wasn’t a bad a bad view.

PRESTIGE SUITE was amazing!, you can see a panoramic view of darling harbour on right hand side and Anzac bridge on left hand size. Seperate living room including working desk, dining table and living area look quite proper and elegant when it combine with the view. Bathroom is quite big and good layout design which you can open the slide door and see the city view, also with Hermes amenities, it was perfect.

The rooms really small for the price. No-one answer the phone for room service. We were right near the lifts, where a lady and her mobile phone photographer took photos for hours. The pool was freezing, not heated. We couldn't eat vegan and gluten free. And we saw a couple having sex in one of the windows that looked onto Darling harbour. They were right on the window looking onto everyone passing by.

My parents stayed at the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour when they came to visit me. The location right on Darling harbour was perfect for accessing me in the business district and was walking distance to so many attractions. We all enjoyed China Town, which is a few minutes walk, and I was able to catch the tram to meet them, as there is a tram stop conveniently located 1 minute walk from the lobby. I was especially blown away by how professional and kind the staff were. I dropped my wallet in the hotel lobby, and they stored it safely and were really helpful in returning it to me. A huge thanks to Bridget for answering my panicked call and looking in the safe for my Wallet, Kass for opening the safe when I was there and making sure that it was me, and Ian for making everything happen so smoothly. Great location, clean and comfortable rooms. I'd highly recommend.
