I think every hotel and resort in the world should take notes from the staff at the Vedana Lagoon Resort. Every single member of staff made my family and I feel welcome and at home. Everyone had a smile on their face, from the manager to the security guards that patrol around the resort.
The rooms are incredibly spacious and were kept spotless throughout our 4 night stay. Water and any amenities were restocked daily without us having to ask. I was particularly a big fan of the paper-based packages they used for the amenities instead of plastic (Caring for the environment!)
The food was also very good at the restaurant in the resort. I have nothing to complain about a single meal I had throughout my stay. They were all very well cooked and delicious, for both western and Vietnamese dishes.
I want to give a special thanks to Nina, who I believe is one of the managers at the resort. She made my family and I feel at home from the moment we stepped foot into the resort. She would help us book tours in Hue and even managed to offer us a refund when we had to leave a night earlier on very short notice.
The only complaint I have is the weather. Which is obviously completely out of the hands of the resort. But I would recommend to stay at Vedana perhaps after March when the weather clears up a bit. Just so you are able to make use of all the outdoor activities the resort offers.

At the resort in Feb 2020, we decided to have dinner in our room. I noticed that there was a large amount of choice within the menu. As vegans, my partner and I had the vegetarian spring roll, crumbled vegetables, and insanely good hotpot. This dish is the best hotpot I have ever had. The staff organised the table beautifully. I had a lovely Swedish massage. The pressure was perfect. All knots were removed. Another highlight was the organic hair and scalp massage whereby special local ingredient was used to grow the hair and detox the scalp. My hair never felt so clean, shiny and scalp felt so healthy. The hair massage was terrific. I used the warm health spa which had strong spa jets and could get into the spa bath quickly.
Another highlight was the fantastic array of food choices for breakfast, waiting staff and chef were professional and prompt. With comfortable chairs, we overlooked the water. The food was fresh, organic and all dishes were incredibly tasty. The customer service was outstanding. This Resort exceeded our expectations; we will be back for an extended stay. All services offered excellent value for money. I felt like I was on my honeymoon. I was sad to leave and cannot wait to come back. It is one of the most incredible places I have ever visited.

The villas on stilts over the lagoon were very spacious with an enormous bed and a marble bath for two. A large picture window opposite the bed meant you could lie in bed watching the dawn over the mountains and the lagoon. Two bikes are provided outside each villa to cycle around the resort or to the nearby fishing village on quiet roads. There is not an enormous amount to do but for peace and rest it cannot be beaten. I was told it was in Hue which it is not. It is about an hour to Hue and the hotel provides a shuttle bus there and back once a day. It is actually situated between Hue and Hoi An. The best thing about the resort is the staff. They are very friendly and helpful with out being overbearing or obsequiese. They anticipate your needs. We were looking idly at the kayaks and a member of staff appeared with two life jackets. It rained whilst we were there and staff appeared with umbrellas for the shortest journey. There are buggies to transport the luggage and you if you wish. When passing they stop to ask if you want to get on board ,if not they smile and wave at you. Among some of the lovely staff were Bap and Vo Thi Ni Na and others whose names I cannot recall , but all of whom made our stay special. It was a very different atmosphere from our next hotel where we asked to sign out pool towels!. I wholeheartedly recommend the Vedana. If you like a hectic social whirl it is not for you, if however you want to relax in a very friendly then a few days here will be perfect.

There are a lot of little quirks that if addressed would make Vedana feel much more luxurious. We stayed in an aqua bungalow for two nights. It has a HUGE terrace but only seating for one. There is no table outside either. Just one lounge chair and lots of space. Bottled water is offered in the room, but filtered water in a glass jar would be a nicer touch and less wasteful. They at least use large pump dispensers for soaps and lotion.
The pool area is beautiful. For some reason, though, they say they turn off the lights to the pool at 7 PM. The lights were already off when we came by at 6:30 PM on our second night.
The food was the worst part. I am Vietnamese American, and I love Vietnamese food, but the quality was not very good. The service in the restaurant was dreadfully slow, as well. They offer too big of a menu and the same menu for lunch and dinner.
We booked our stay at Vedana to chill and relax, but when I look back at our month in Vietnam, the two nights would have been better allocated to Hoi An. At the moment they are constructing new facilities, but they really should be investing that money in the existing facilities, which on the outside look nice but seem tired upon closer inspection.

I can say that your ideas are very clear and would like to say we are very sorry for these inconveniences. Some other guests after the stay on this water villa left a comment that it is better to have a chair/sofa so that they can relax more at the balcony. At the moment, there is a small sunny bed at the balcony and there are three table and chair sets in this water villa, one of them can be movable in case guests want to have dinner or drink at the balcony. However, we made a decision and will soon add the relaxing chairs. Free water in room will be changed for the better to glass jar as well. Furthermore, an over water restaurant and a swimming pool by the lagoon are being built so that guests have more options and experiences ( these buildings are on the seperate locations ). During this period of Covid, several hotels are full as they provide big discounts for locals. Foreigners living here are paying almost normal price for a downgraded service. You pay $150 for a room but they now replaced mineral water by unsafe boiled water... they're at least saving 50 cents!!! Food and spa were excellent as usual as well as the landscape. Staff is very kind and always paying attention to you. Nevertheless, cleanness is not as usual. Swimming pool is showing very bad mold stains at the bottom of the pool. The straw roof is inhabited by rats doing races and looking at you through the holes. It's the fifth time I'm coming here but it's probably my last time.

I honestly don’t know where to start with how amazing me and my partner’s stay was at Vedana.
The resort itself is incredibly beautiful. We stayed in the poolside villa which gave us access to a private pool, huge bathroom with shower and bathtub, a giant king size bed and so much more. It was like our own private house. The rooms overlook the lagoon which is just beautiful.
The service was the best service I’d received in any hotel I’ve stayed in. The staff checked in our stay and provided everything we could possibly need. Our booking included breakfast and a complimentary 30 minute spa treatment everyday which is just crazy for how reasonably priced accommodation is already. The resort also provides a free buggy service to get you around anywhere on the resort.
Due to the remote location we had to eat at the resort most of the time which wasn’t terrible because the food was very reasonably priced and delicious.
The only downside (which isn’t really a downside) is that because the resort is so far away from everything you’re spending extra money on transport but the resort offers a private driver at a reasonable fee to take you anywhere.
If you’re looking for a relaxing and romantic stay I can’t recommend this place enough. Dao Hien, one of the staff members, made our stay so special. It was my partner’s birthday and she went out of her way to get her a cake and hand crochet her flowers!
If you’re looking for a more adventurous holiday then definitely look at staying somewhere in Hue city or Da Nang city but other than that this place is the perfect place to relax and unwind and be taken care of.

We stayed exclusively for 3 weeks and during our stay were treated like royalty & they kindly upgraded us which was a pleasant surprise.
So many little considerations were made by staff to ensure everything was prefect, anticipating our needs & those little things making our stay so pleasurable, enjoyable and memorable.
The resort is located on a micro peninsula & you would be forgiven for thinking you were in the Swiss Alps with the backdrop of mountains with the added view of the lagoon. The owners have been very sensitive to the environment by limiting the encroachment of villas & building into the hillside.
The attention to detail in each villa & throughout the resort in phenomenal. There is the added benefit of having your own private bicycle to use during our stay which you are free to use outside the resort.
We ate exclusively at Vedana & their chef Lok presented a diverse range of traditional Vietnamese food. I would highly recommend the cooking class & visiting the local Bach Ma National park using their driver.

We chose Vedana Lagoon as it was close to Bach Mah National Park where my traveling companions planned to bird. We spent the day on the mountain and then checked in. The greeting with a cold wash cloth and drink was the start of 2 days of unwinding from 10 days of traveling Vietnam from the USA. It was just what we needed. My husband and I opted out of a second day of birding and instead pampered ourselves with one of their 4 hour spa packages. We enjoyed riding the provided bicycles and the numerous swimming pools were beautiful. The Hillside Villa we stayed in was luxurious. An unexpected free upgrade. The staff throughout the resort were responsive and friendly. Being able to communicate in English via WhatsApp was very easy and helpful. The complimentary 30 minute foot and leg massage on the first night relieved all the day’s muscle aches from hiking. I am going to encourage my friends that want to travel to Vietnam to stay here. We did not go on any of the excursions they offer, but they all looked very good. We were traveling with friends that had lived in Vietnam and they had planned our itinerary with help from their Vietnamese friends. I do think a first time traveling staying here at Vedana would be able to explore this area of Vietnam (Hoi An and Hue) easily with their excursions and have access to spa services (very affordable compared to US prices). If I had to plan another trip, I would start here, recover from jet lag and then explore the area. Definitely but this on your itinerary!

She's always smiling My original reservation was three nights at River Hillside Full Villa and two nights at Waterpool Villa They upgraded my room, so I stayed at Riverside Full Villa for 2 nights and Water Pool Villa for 3 nights. I was so happy to be able to move to Waterpool Villa on my husband's birthday. They even prepared the birthday cake I requested. There was a distance between the bungalow and the restaurant, but there was no inconvenience at all because I could travel by bicycle or buggy. Especially when I was traveling by bicycle, I was able to feel the nature in the cool breeze I was scared, so I rode a children's biycle instead of an adult bicycle. But it was actually really fun. I participate in yoga classes every morning I was very satisfied with the massage at the spa It was such a fun trip and I want to come again next time. We’d already spent several days in Hué, so going to Vedana was strictly for relaxing. There, you can forget the world and sink into a paradise without worries. From the excellent breakfast buffet to the delicious dinners, your day feels pampered and well-tended. The staff doesn’t let any concern or need go unaddressed; they’re attentive, friendly, but not overbearing. The extras (morning yoga class over the water, bicycles, etc.) are nice, but the real treat is just being there and watching sunrises and sunsets over the lagoon. It’s hard to imagine staying anywhere more idyllic!
