Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for a destination wedding. Great facilities-comfortable accommodation-good and friendly service.Housekeeping needs to improve-no consistency on a day to day basis.Consumables sadly not replished regularly. After wet mopping floors remained wet ,unsafe and smelling. Restaurant meals at dinner venues relatively expensive for what was offered-themed nights didn’t live up to expectations for the cost.Breakfasts were good and enjoyed.Overall pleasant but not exceptional stay but would return for hopefully a superior stay

This is an update and downgrade of my previous review . At time of resrveation I was promised a total of 34034 IHG bonus points. On my return I found out, that they gave me ony 23771 points. I opted out of daily housekeeping (more for environmental than financial reasons) for tthree days. They offered 500 points/night fot this, that shoulsd have added up to an additionol 1500 points. I also spent over $500 at the resort, that should have added up to something. All and all the've shorted me of more than 10000 points.

This was my second time staying at the Intercontinental and it definitely delivers quality all round. Food is quite pricey but the quality is excellent and they cater for healthy eaters. The only down side is was there wasn't a pool that was suitable for tweens/teens. They have a beautiful adult only pool and a 'kids pool' but the kids pool is very shallow and so only appeals to little kids. There is a stunning beach right there which offset that but it would be great to see a pool where the bigger kids who can swim. Rooms could have been darker, lots of light flooding in even with all blinds drawn at night, so if that affects your sleep like it does me you'll need to bring a sleep mask!

This hotel has access to a beautiful beach and it has great facilities. The rooms are luxurious. We loved the beach, the infinity pool, the life music and fire show. The service is exceptional and because our flight was at night, they allowed us to use the hospitality room to take a shower before leaving to the airport. The only disappointment was the quality of the food and the prices. Because of the location, you are trapped to eat in the hotel's restaurants. The prices are outrageous and the food was mediocre. I think 3 days was more than enough.

For all of the good things this hotel offered it was our departure that that was frustrating and down right UNFAIR. On arrival the front desk placed a charge on my amex for $6798.00 FJD to cover my stay and 5 days @$200 FJD a day for incidentals. It is a cashless hotel so I accept this. As I travel heavily I am familiar with the check out process with many hotel brands around the world but none stressed me more that this hotel. I expected that they would submit to amex the amount required to settle my account and convert the pre authorisation amount in to that charge. But I spent an hour at the check out desk whilst I watched them attempt to charge my card for an additional $7800 AUD ON TOP OF the pre authorisation charge. I explained that this is not the way it should be done to have two front office staff with a blank look on their faces and ignore most of what i had to say and continued to justify why they are trying to charge my card on top of what they were holding. I explained that my amex limit is $20,000 , I then showed them on my phone that my my current balance was $10,200.00 plus the pre authorisation of $6798.00 FJD meant that they need to convert the pre authorisation to the charge and it would all work fine. They continued to try and charge on top of the pre authorisation. After the embarrassment they caused my family and I, I was left with no choice but to transfer from my savings account into my visa the sum of $8000.00 to cover the charge. Once they helped themselves to a chunk of the exchange rate and then 3.50% for using my visa card I left the hotel, NEVER to return. I asked them in what universe is it ok to hold a pre authorisation and then charge a house guest again which effectively means I have paid TWICE for the same holiday for what is now two days, On departure the two front office staff assured me the request to release the ore authorisation was processed and would come off my card 48 hours later. Two days later I have spoken with amex and they confirm that no request has yet been made by the intercontinental hotel Fiji to release my card. Further more amex have confirmed that the process may take up to 5 working days. So now I continue to be the victim of their medieval practises. I could accept their ridiculous pricing on everything on the resort for the few days I was there but this is over the top. This hotel is NOT for the faint hearted.

We were 5 adults ( 2+3) and have a beach front room with an adjoining room. The rooms and location were fantastic and the views beautiful.... the big kids in the adjoining room had their own terrace and loungers. We utilized the beautiful outdoor bathtubs every day. The horse shoe shaped beach ( 2km) is perfect to walk on at low tide and on the return trip we did our bit for the environment collecting small pieces of rubbish off the beach ( not at high tide level as would have needed a sack!) The ocean is divine to swim In compared with many mainland beaches in Fiji. For a couple of days the wind meant their were amazing waves to surf on right in front of our room. The 2 pool area.... adults on the beach and kids back behind the restaurant area, is perfect for those visitors that don’t have or want to b near small holiday guests. Lots to do... horse riding offered by the locals and massages either at the resort or at a cheaper rate by the locals. Kids completed a dive course (3days) .... really great sea life and coral. Only down fall if this resort is the good! Not fantastic, needs more variety and to be fresher... breads and muffins etc seemed to b made the day before. Expensive meals as per usual for Fiji.
