Easy booking through Booking. com.

Not far off the Southern Motorway.

Great reception, pleasant friendly and helpful service.

We had business in Auckland and an appointment 8am the following morning at Greenlane Clinic which is a short walk from motel

We were able to pack our car and leave it in the car park by our room for as long as we liked.

The room was standard, had all the usual amenities but no electric blankets, only a heater which looked like it had partially melted.

The bed was comfortable, the microwave looked well used, the bathroom was very small and the shower door was loosing its seal.

Overall it was very clean but the motel is in dire need of renovation. Our rooms walls had paint missing in spots.

Value for money is questionable, we were happy as it’s location to the clinic was our main concern and the saving on parking there offset the cost of the motel.

Knowing all this, if I had another appointment at the clinic, I’d stay here again.

Perfect location for Eden Park Concert goers. We stayed here walked down the road for dinner. Supermarket there too. Walked across the road to Alexandra Park and jumped on the bus to Ed Sheeran
This was a week after major floods in Auckland. Our room was clean and spacious. Did take 2 visits to reception to get extra coffee and clean towels. But I would stay here again

Walking distance to the food show at asb showgrounds and restaurants. Basic accomodation. Dated. Staff were helpful in finding comfortable pillows. Right price. Very small bathrooms with no shampoo. Small kitchen.

We arrived at this motel to find the room dark, dated, paint peeling of the walls , stains on the sheets , curtains did not met and the cleanliness it not good . To top it all of there were lots of children’s and adults swearing and shouting at each other, slamming doors etc, we complied to the manger and were told that this motel is now being used for long term tenants .
We did not stay . If you are looking for a nice, quiet ,clean place to stay then this is not the place .

Very comfortable stay. I was staying over from out of town attending an Expo the next day. Beautiful place. Very reasonable for the area.
I knocked a star off because I found it wasn’t to the most cleanliness of standards. By this I mean dust in a few places and the corners of the bathroom looked a little congested. However the room was great, and like I said - very comfortable.

We booked this motel because it was directly over the road from where our event was being held. I hate to say that I was very disappointed .... from the moment we walked into reception. The first thing we saw was a glass window with a large crack in it. The receptionist was lovely to deal with. However, it went down hill from there. The room smelt musty, there were missing and cracked tiles in the bathroom which looked disgusting, the bottom of the bathroom door was swollen and black (water damage), cobwebs in the corners, disappointing television set up, the shower head was lower than me (and I'm only 5'7" tall), the bathroom tiles and grouting were dirty, the pillows were flat, the curtains needed replacing and to be hung correctly, chips plaster on the walls and there was no information in the room regarding nearby facilities. Very disappointing and will not be going back there again

An OK room, stayed at a time when Auckland hotels seemed very full and Needs a renovation. Location is convenient given the area attractions, which is probably the key thing the hotel has going for it!

Dirty empty bottles and clothes left under a bed, basin in bathroom had toothpaste smeared on it, cups filthy and as owners were away were told they would reply to our complaint on their return. One month later and still no reply. Staff on at time of stay promised us a refund. Never seen it.

We booked two nights for an executive unit well in advance. Also when booking I emailed re my concern about the cleanliness that some reviews had committed. I was told that if I wasn't happy that I would get a free night. On our arrival we were given the key to our room....after a few minutes I realised that the unit we were put into was not an executive unit. Queried it with the office to say you are in a twin unit and she was not aware of the mix until a few days ago, so asked why did they not notify us earlier or on arrival re the change. I got told, oh we have given you a voucher for a meal across the road, ok so why didn't you tell me on arrival. Just rubbish....they were hoping we wouldn't notice. The room was certainly not clean...i cleaned the smear all over the mirror and tv within 5 minutes....not to mention cleaning all kitchen stuff before we used. Our own data would not work and we were not able to receive calls or make calls in the unit. We left after one night as they did not provide what we booked for and i have email confirmation of this booking. I have written a email to the manager and did not hear anything so sent another one to give them a chance to resolve the issues but they have not replied after 5 days. So therefore please think twice before you book here - I will never stay here again....it is rubbish in more ways than one.

Response from Jan T, Manager at Parklane Motor Lodge
Responded 26 Mar 2017
MOTELS BEWARE - it is my opinion that Rachel is a professional whinger. The full story - to which Rachel is very much aware is as follows: Rachel wanted to book at Parklane so sent an email with this regard. Her pre cursor was that she was concerned about reviews she had read and that she was very fussy about cleanliness. My response was that - rather than blow my own trumpet - come and check it out for herself. If she was not happy and her issues were valid I would be happy to discuss a discount (or other). Rachel then booked an Executive Unit for 2n. Prior to her arrival, and due to the severe weather bomb in Auckland, we moved many of our guests from problem rooms - Rachel was one of those guests. Whilst this was not communicated to Rachel prior to or on her arrival - the room rate was reduced to reflect the move from an Executive Unit to a Twin. Once inhouse Rachel made her way back to Reception. Her first issue was about smudges on the mirror and having to clean the dining room chair. Then she queried the change in room type. Having explained the need for the change, Rachel then expressed that she should have been told. I accepted that and offered a complimentary breakfast for two. Rachel said she would think about it. Later that afternoon Rachel returned to Reception and announced that she was not happy with the room change and the cleanliness (although she did not elaborate on any specifcs other than the two areas previously mentioned). She had decided that they would stay the night and check out the following morning - which is what she did. Rachel chose NOT to take up the complimentary breakfast and she was NOT charged for the late cancellation of her 2nd night stay by the Receptionist on desk. Whilst Rachel's email (sent later that same morning) was bought to my attention I felt (and continue to feel) that there was nothing further I could or would do other than what had already been comp'd. Rachel - you are obviously not used to being ignored or wanted more than what Parklane had been generous enough to allow. Therefore, my response to you at this time is thus: "I have reviewed your issues discussed with me while you were inhouse and the way they were handled. I find that your concerns (specifically to not being notified about the room change) were heard and appropriate compensation was offered at the time. Those concerns, in addition to cleaning a mirror and dining chair, were insufficient reason to waive your cancellation fee of 1 night, therefore, I will be seeking payment of $175 - payable immediately. Please refer to our T&C with regard to cancelled bookings".

Nothing flash but has everything you need. Good shower, comfy beds and friendly staff.
If I had to nit pick I would say the light switches are in odd places and the TV channels are all over the place. The pillows aren't great but there's plenty of them if you need to reach your desired pillow height.

Hi Nicole - your review made me chuckle and your "nit-picking" is on point. The TV - including the channels & remotes have proven to be the bane of our existence - and one we are working diligently to address. Appreciate you taking the time to post up a review and look forward to welcoming you again.
